Oof, that one hurts. For newcomers, earlier this season, Grian sold Keralis one rotten flesh for two stacks of diamonds as a part of hermit challenges, it is the one in the item frame in the diamond office owned by Keralis.

Some of the bottom buildings could be remote shops that pay Keralis a cut of the profits, heck he could even sell floor space in some of the unused buildings so the Hermits could build auxillary bases.

@@RequiemPoete they have no reason to have an actual base there. Some of them live a couple hundred blocks away(vintage, Etho, xisuma) but there's also no reason for them to live in the city. It has nothing unique or important they can't get elsewhere. Them decorating the apartments would just be purely for fun as they'll likely be small and take like 15 mins for them to do

@@thespyer2k There's no reason for them to do most the stuff they do, save for: 'Why not.' Mumbo gave his base a heart. Keralis built half finished buildings under construction and Joe refuses to use diamonds. And they all agreed to pay money for shop space. I think having a permanent living space in the city would be worth a few diamonds to them that they can decorate how they see fit.

When pastel dyed baby clothing became affordable and popular ( vs easily bleachable white gowns) pink was considered the stronger color and more appropriate for boys. It wasn't until the 1940's this trend reversed. So given the time period of the style the Half Mansion is built in, Doc's bedroom would be more than appropriate for a man.

As a person who lives in a city, with a house literally right next to train tracks, I love the feel of the highway kind of crushing the buildings, very characteristic of the urban theme you're using. Also I just love the builds, and you're amazing

At first I was going to say that Keralis and bdub's friendship is so sweet. And then xB gives him a mansion for being a good friend. Everyone is just too nice

Architecture facts from an architecture historian: The style of these buildings is a type of Victorian style called Italianate, popular during the industrial boom of the mid-late 1800s. Italianate became popular in England when Queen Victoria and Prince Albert designed and built Osborne House, a country house based on Italian villas. It then exploded in popularity in the United States where its boxy, formulaic shape and easily mass-producible ornamentation made it ideal for commercial buildings, mass housing projects, and stylish, trendy houses available to the new middle class. Italianate is closely related to French Second Empire, which is the style that Grian mostly builds in, including the half-house and his S7 Mansion. The main difference is that Second Empire has the "mansard" roof type instead of a low or flat roof. Also, the highway overpass going past the buildings reminds me of a location in Pittsburgh where the Penn-Lincoln Parkway goes alongside Fort Pitt Boulevard near Wood and Market Streets.

The music you use for your build scenes is great. I want a 10 hour long version of all your time lapse segments so I can just listen and watch your magical creations come to life.

The roads up against the houses unlocked a long-lost memory of mine: In Keralis's Cities Skylines series, he had a city with two skinny apartments. One was pink and the other was blue, and they were right up against the train tracks. Poor guys thought they could get a break here, guess not hahaha!

I absolutely love the idea of a sky train, I'd imagine it to be a charming addition to the city. And I can't wait to see all the little shops come to life!

Keralis' timelapses are so satisfying I'd want a whole episode of just his timelapses with the jazz music playing throughout. It'd be like an ASMR type of video

For the archways I would suggest the following: Change out the block palette of the building below the road such that it matches the road supports. Remove the top row of windows. Replace the top windows with buttresses or half arches to support the road, and repurpose the ground floor to look like a subway entrance, with some stairs heading downwards. Then you could even incorporate a subway entrance elsewhere in the city, perhaps connecting several of those to the ice road system that Etho built at the start of the season.

Beautiful!! Absolutely stunning! For the space under the bridge you could put a basketball court. You often see them in these spots in urban areas. That or a car park area.

I think you should put a load of chairs and tables and benches and things in the empty space at 34:00 and have it as some sort of eating area! Maybe even a few fountains (who knows)?

Keralis, great video. You should sell space in your city. Imagine selling mural and billboard space to the other Hermits to advertise their shops as well as remote shops where you get a cut of the profits. You can sell floors of some of your buildings to the Hermits as auxillary bases. Heck, build a casino and hire tango to do the redstone.

I love how big your city is getting. And you talking about a marina. This is my first hermit season. I hope it lasts a loooong time. I wanna see everyone's bases connect
