Hermes Shopping Story| birkin kelly constance bags purchase collection review luxury designer brands

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hi guys I'm Eileen. A subscriber suggested for me to do a video about my Hermes shopping experience in conjunction to a video posted by Mel ‪@Purseonfleek‬ . Just a little disclaimer, I didn't actually watch Mel's video prior to filming this, simply because I wanted this to be an unbiased video about my own Hermes experience. I did watch Mel later on, and I really hope she's feeling better now. Anyway, in this video, I talked about the tips to get the Birkn, Kelly, Constance, and other popular Hermes bags. I also touched on purchase history and how I was offered the first Hermes Kelly 28 in togo leather. My Hermes handbag collection is fairly curated, so I'm definitely not a VIP. However, I do enjoy many things from Hermes, such as their rose gold jewellery, cashmere shawls, and leather bracelets. Having said that, I know some people are only interested in Hermes handbags and not much else from the brand. I personally won't recommend buying a lot of expensive items just to build up a purchase history, but it is a personal choice. The way I see it, whether if it's a small Louis Vuitton card holder, a Chanel scarf, or an Hermes Birkin, it is only worth buying if we actually love it and put it to use.

Thank you for watching this video regarding my Hermes shopping experience. Hermes birkin, kelly, or constance bags are the dream bags for a lot of luxury lovers, but shopping should really be a pleasant experience. After embracing luxury minimalism, I now don't go after any luxury pieces with too much effort. In fact, if one day I have to sell all my Hermes bags to free up some cash, I'll be OK too. Beautiful things are just, things xx

I’m more of a primark girl myself but WOW this has opened my eyes and I’m shocked that so many games are played when it comes to these big designer brands……I don’t think I’d be welcome in Hermes store……….😁👜

In the company I work for, I serve only VIP clients and there is one young lady, in her early 20s who showed up with a different Hermes bag every time she came for a consultation. She would just put it on the floor and kick it to the side, or casually left it on my desk when she had a one-on-one meeting with my boss. Having met this client made me realise that certain things are just out of my league and they are not for me. I'm not judging anyone but I think if you are going after a brand with such an exclusive strategy, you either play the game by the rules or you leave it. Those who can "truly" affort this game would not cry about it, they just don't need to.

Hermes is without question high quality and great style, however the way you have to “beg” for a bag is ridiculous. All customers should be treated with the same respect and curtesy regardless of buying history. If there is a shortage of stock, just sell via first come first sell. Don’t see they want to treat potential customers less than regular customers. Money is the same. Quality or not, prices are over the hill.

This is the problem of the world we are living in today. Someone crying over not being able to purchase a handbag that is so overpriced. Real problems are poverty, no education, no food, running water, etc. We have lost our minds in the wealthy nations. I can live without Hermes. So overrated.

I think if people started to actually use their freedom and stop giving money to such insane companies, the world would be a better place. Sure, you might love their bags, nothing wrong with it, but don't let a company treat you like that. Purchase experience first? When the second hand market is overflowing with those bags? Come on! The choice second hand is huge, even Farfetch has a second hand section with Kelly and Birkin. This way Hermes doesn't get any money, and the bags are in circulation. Saves the planet, and gets rid of companies like that. Remember, you've got the money, you've got the power, use it to make the world a better place, and not to support companies charging ridiculous prices and creating horrible elitist structures.

@@Vanyel_K I have not seen margaritas. But say purseonfleecks and felt so bad. I went to one in Bellevue Washington during vday wknd. It’s was so cringe. Definitely was discriminated against. She mentioned to best just buy the bag from the real real and that the bags were offered more to Asian clients cuz they spend more. My hubby and I were the only Mexicans there. Didn’t appreciate her assuming we didn’t have the cash. Of course I might not have the cash to just spend stupidly like others. But it was not cool. That’s when I decided. F your journey. Just because I don’t want to spend money on crap I don’t need I shouldn’t be punished or looked down upon. Others have said that store is racist. However I saw that Casandra_who post an unbox of one on vday/same day I was at the store and she is Caucasian. So who knows. Maybe she it got days prior and also I don’t know her journey.

My “Hermès journey” started with an amazing SA who really showed interest in helping me get the bag of my dreams. She took notes on their system of what my choice was (B30 in neutral color and Togo leather). For 6 months I bought many things: sneakers, boots, scarves, jewelry... she kept telling me that the bag “was probably arriving very soon”... I spent almost 12.000 euros but there was no call. And then suddenly she called... to tell me that she was leaving Hermès. “But don’t worry, I have handed over your wish list to my lovely colleague”. I felt so stupid that I haven’t visited the boutique since she left, in January. I of course love all the stuff I bought, but I know that I wouldn’t probably have spent that much if it wasn’t for the belief that the bag was coming soon 😔. Of course, I haven’t got any call yet. And I don’t feel strong enough to try to start over a new relationship with another SA.

If you earn your money honestly, I feel you can spend it however you wish. When I am considering a luxury purchase I always check my ego. Why am I really buying this item? Is it because I will genuinely enjoy it or am I trying to fill a void or compensate for some insecurity? Mindful purchasing equals fewer regrets.

I certainly don’t get excited about their stuff in the same way that I do with Chanel or Dior. They have tried to prevent me from entering the store on more than one occasion and the SAs are snotty. Hilariously I am uninterested in their Birkins and Kellys so they have no reason to be that way with me. I prefer the housewares, leather goods and silks. Honestly, I never got exactly what she did because she always came across as so insecure so it wouldn’t surprise me if she had inflated her role there. I knew her from volunteering with junior league and good gracious she was such a bitch! So rude to me and other women. Not surprising at all… I grew up on the Upper East Side and was lucky with my family’s SA there but to be honest, we were never bag people. I can’t imagine how awful the customers are to deal with in the city to be honest. Growing up in that life scale, the clients and the help/sales people in the luxe world were altogether insufferable.

The sales associate gave me her number and talked to me about my preferences then she called me to say the Picotin came in. I set up an appt and went in and it was a lovely experience. I’ve only bought a couple of things online after that because of the pandemic and the convenience of online shopping.

Ironically enough the bag Birkin was named after a woman who didn't carry designer bag but in fact a simple straw basket lmaof 😂 If I was in Hermes I would turn my back and say "sorry I don't do wait list I'm way too elite for that" 😅

  • @deborahcurtis1385

    @deborahcurtis1385

Actually "the woman" was Jane Birkin, she was a famous model and married to Serge Gainsborough a famous musician and singer. The bag was created because using this 'simple straw basket' turned into humiliation when she put it in the overhead locker in a plane and ALL the contents spilled out over the floor. Horses for courses (pun intended). A "simple straw bag" is not always appropriate nor multifunctional as demonstrated in this incident. The person sitting next to her was CEO of Hermes and together they designed the ultimate practical handbag in a classic style. The rest is history. I don't own a Birkin either but let's get our facts right and respect the integrity of the design. Jane Birkin naturally marketed the brand by wearing it faithfully afterwards and still does! The bag itself is sound, handmade and holds the contents in securely even when not locked, by means of the flap. Hermes may indeed be overpriced, it may be over rated even, but the Birkin is indeed a practical bag that Jane Birkin used herself. She may still have used the straw basket at times, but she didn't make the mistake again of imagining it would always do. Both Birkins, the person and the bag are style icons. I personally respect high quality and sound design. Let's be realistic and just say the bag is out of our league.

My take on watching her goodbye Hermes video is that her millions of emails she sent some of the SA's are way too over board, those things are something I would tell a close friend not an SA. I would rather go on a holiday to a new place. I have too many bags I hardly use, I mainly use one or two bags regularly. In fact I bought a wine backpack from TK Maxx several years ago and get compliments everyday I use it, it only cost £7.99 so you guys can keep your expensive items. Besides I can make a bag if I really put my mind to it and get on the sewing machine. My joy comes from travel and seeing new places not from clothes. Unless you are a really warm coat in winter or comfortable boots then might spend a bit more otherwise Primark, H&M, Zara and TK Maxx serves me well. I don't need help from Sale Associates. I also do vintage clothing which is amazing especially for jewellery.

People, Hermes do not do these things! You don’t need a purchase history to buy a bag. It works slightly differently, it’s about the relationship between you and the company, what you buy and how you use their products. I was offered the bag and was not having a huge purchase history, they just wanted to make it up for me cause I was not happy with their current service in one of the stores. I didn’t get the bag - I was shown 3 Birkins, but I do buy shoes and clothes cause I like them. Nobody ever even insinuated that I had to spend a lot before I get to that Birkin bag. I have lizard leather Roulis, which is extremely rare but it’s because I’m always nice to the people who work in the shop, I chat with them and I treat them as human beings- if you ask them for real you will know how abused they are by people who just want these bags and nothing more. People behave in a disrespectful manner in those shops, giving the sales assistants the attitude, it’s wrong. Just take your time and try to enjoy the brand a bit more, make the effort to understand their philosophy and sustainability. Then maybe you get the bag, but even if not it’s not the end of the world.

Hermes creates an artificial scarcity that increases the price of a handbag beyond what they’re truly worth. Hermes also has created a class system that forces people to purchase other items so customer may have a chance of buying a Kelly or Berkin. Depending on the material each bag is worth a few hundred or a thousand dollars! Of course, this includes time and labor. Creating a second hand market adds on to the manipulation of Hermes!

Hermes is simply following the business model developed by the House of Worth in the late 1890's to the early 1900's. Only those socially prominent were given the opportunity to have a dress designed for them. Free advertising. However, Worth also permitted dress patterns to be included in some American ladies' magazines - so even farm girls in the Mid West could have at least one nice dress to wear...but only in America. European women could only get a Worth dress from Worth. Hermes now has the fake industry to worry about so they have to retain control of their market. Something Worth didn't have to face.

By the way, in this new era, why are people still willing to be manipulated and persecuted by the sales assistants of such brands? Just so they can be seen as the ACCEPTED IN-CROWD?
