I’m of an age that I knew this song when it was popular and let’s face it, it’s “Bubble Gum Music”, but like so many pop tunes, it’s fun, toe tapping, finger snapping and sticks in your head until you wish it would go away but, you’re happy to hear it again.

I was 9 when this song came out in 1964. I bought their debut "Herman's Hermits" album and played it MANY times. Now in 2023, some of the songs from the album are in my iTunes library, I have a t-shirt with the album cover on the front, and, as a professional singer and pianist, this song is in my repertoire. Remembering Derek "Lek" Leckenby born on May 14, 1943. He was an English musician and lead guitarist, most famous for his work with English pop group Herman's Hermits. Leckenby is credited with arranging the band's first big hit, "I'm into Something Good". His skills on guitar and dobro are heard on releases such as the LP A Whale of a Tale and the later singles, such as "Ginny Go Softly" and "Heart Get Ready for Love". - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derek_Leckenby

16 years ago I went to Florida. Pete Noone did an afternoon gig in Bush Gardens. The music was exactly like these old recordings. Many commented on it, but, to my surprise, he told loads of jokes and funny stories. He was hilarious, like a pro comedian. Absolutely ripped into the Yanks, but they took it all in good humour, which is what it was. Good experience.
Born 1990 but love these kind of music.
1964, such fun, such nostalgia.
My parents saw the Herman Hermits last year & this year at Epcot.
Back when music was done via pure talent and not computers and autotune.
One of the classic feel good songs when you were young and but still holds up today.
Growing up listening to songs like this, was kind of like we were all going thru puberty together, trying to figure out girls. Today's songs seem to already understand that process.
Carole King, what a fantastic songwriter!
