Heritage Settler Lever 22LR Review, much much better than I imagined.

January on the mountain kinda sucks, but this review was well worth the weather.

@@billsummy2412 yes I know some of the other gun companies back a fews years bought out Heritage a gun company that was US made back in 97 out of a different state I know cause I was looking at a few pieces I like although if memory serves me right it was Georgia I saw some of their weapons with the Ga symbol I could check again although im pretty sure my knowledge is reliable it wasn't until 2012 that Taurus bought the company and now makes them in Florida and few other places

Thank you for this review. Enjoyed it. I have just purchased the Settler and I have to say I am happy with its performance and it seems to give a base Henry model a run for its money. I have gotten the laughs too. But the rifle is solid and well built. Looks like Heritage is stepping up its game. As for the look with simulated case-hardening, it kinda grows on you with time 😂.

I like it! Nice to see another brand demonstrated for quality. The color of the metal is strange but like you said, is unique...Thanks for the info!

I just got one of these at my local Academy store on clearance plus a discount for a couple of very small fingernail type impressions (display model) on the stock grip area and the 5% card discount for $282.61 plus tax. The action is just as smooth as my Henry's and Winchester 9422's. The trigger is a pound or two heavier though but not bad at all and it is smooth. Fit is good for the price point except for the butt plate. It could have been better. I'm not a fan of the faux case hardening orange color but otherwise the overall finish is very good and smooth and has no rough edges like that of the rough rider revolvers. I got mine at a good discount but I think it's well worth the $350-$425 price point. It would be even better if it was made in America.

Nice little plinker. Impressive accuracy and seems to be reliable. How many rounds did you shoot, yet and what ammo besides CCI? A follow-up with a scope and less high quality ammo would be cool. Thanks for sharing 🙏👍

  • @PassivePortfolios

Looks to be plenty accurate, especially if you put a scope on it. Reliable feeding, no misfires. I can live with some minor cosmetic weirdness for the price. It's a "buy" in my opinion. Thanks for the review.

Having just watched a video comparing a Henry golden boy vs thee std model and given the guy was shooting winchester ammo at 50ft. his groups with both rifles were significantly bigger. Could be shooter, could be ammo or maybe you got a ringer here but the cheapest I've seen a golden boy was at local WalMart for 508.00 and the Heritage online for 302.00 with 8.00 shipping and a 25.00 transfer I come 150.00 bucks to the good. That my friends is a lot of ammo. I've owned and shot Rossi rio bravo and it every bit as slick and accurate as any henry I've shot but the wood wasn't as good.

It would never be "Henry Smooth", it would be Erma Smooth. Erma came up with the design in the 70's, sold under Ithaca, Colt and who knows what other brand names. They work.

@@clinnyboy, the original comment may have confused some. A Henry IS an Erma! Henry purchased Erma and has produced this gun as their Henry rim fire lever action rifle. Erma was a German company that produced lever action .22's that were sold under various names.

This piece of junk is made by CBC of Brazil. Which now also owns Taurus,Rossi and Heritage. They own MagTec and Seller and Bellot which they are selling that one to ColtCZ for 350 million in cash and 28% of the company. Parent company is under investigation for price fixing and ammo. They need to pay someone off so that probably why they’re selling.
