Here's Why You SHOULDN'T Buy a Jeep Trackhawk

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Today we're going over why the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is NOT worth it in some cases. The Jeep SRT might be the better daily driver if you aren't concerned about having 707 horsepower and the fastest suv in the world under $200,000. In most cases you won't need or use the power of the Trackhawk so the Jeep SRT 6.4L V8 475 horsepower will be enough for the daily drives. At the end of the day all that matters if being happy and enjoying the vehicle you drive.

    Although I own a Trackhawk i love the SRT as well. Both are quick especially on the street from a stoplight...cant beat 4wd traction. The Trackhawk does have a stronger Transfer Case, stronger axles + the Dodge Demon fuel Pumps and Gearbox(minus the transbrake) which the SRT doesnt get. 1st question people always ask ...yes the Trackhawk is extremely thirsty ...especially if the power is upgraded. As the old saying goes you are 'getting smiles per gallon not miles per gallon'. If can afford the Trackhawk ..thats the one to get

  • @HellcatGuy

    @HellcatGuy

    I never even knew the Trackhawk had those other upgrades, but yes the srt is great I agree. One thing I forgot to mention is that Jeep didn’t want to associate the Hawk with the SRT, you can tell by the lack of SRT badges, there’s not even one visible SRT badge from the exterior! The Trackhawk is unbelievably thirsty haha.

    @@HellcatGuy It also has the upgraded 8hp95 transmission (950 Nm or ~700 lb/ft of torque compared to the 8hp70 (700 Nm or 516 lb/ft of torque) on the SRT. The entire drivetrain of the Trackhawk is upgraded compared to the SRT and can handle a lot more force in general throughout the whole system. That also makes upgrading the Trackhawk less expensive to bring to 1000 hp+ compared to modding the SRT to that point. Additionally, the Hellcat engine is generally considered to be much more reliable than the 6.4L Hemi under the SRT hood. The 6.4L's are known to suffer from lifter issues around 50-75k miles which can be a fairly major expense, as well as other occasional issues. It's still a pretty beastly and hearty engine, but to perform the exact same, the the SRT could be pushing touchy engine to it's max, while the TH Hellcat engine wouldn't stress a bit. Just some more mechanical advantages not mentioned in this video that put some of the price/ownership premiums of the Trackhawk in perspective. But ultimately, it comes down to having enough money not to care. I've had some memories have been in an SRT, and it's a great vehicle in it's own right. Just that the value equation is a bit more nuanced than your video would suggest.

    I drive an X5M. I love it! I was tempted to go with the SRT at first, but too many kids out there always want to race and resort to BS if you decline which leads to trouble. I don't know about you guys, but I redline at 2k. The X5M is a beast a bit quicker than the SRT on a 1/4. Where I was concerned was with all the plumbing. Dual turbos carry a lot of hoses which equates to cracking, dry rot and mechanical problems. I am sitting at 140k miles and it has been in the shop now 2 times in 6 months. Live Hard, Play Hard.

The Th is 1.5 sec faster to 100kmh but Srt at 4.7sec is fast enough. Also Like the look of lower fog lights with ring headlight park combo on Srt. Th brake maintenance, tyre wear and insurance is also a cost to consider as well as keeping my licence!

    I never would’ve thought dodge would be charging so much and getting away with it with the pieces of crap they build they are the worst out of the big three between Chevy and ford. I’ve owned all cars maybe not the highest level trims of their sports cars but I’ve owned a mustang gt Camaro and 300 s with the 5.7 and the Chrysler literally gave me the most headache with the lifters and cam going out. I love the design of the challenger and was a fan when they first brought it out without having to persuade you with the hellcat versions. I remember going to the auto show out here in Chicago and they revealed the challenger and I told my bro this is the best looking car out there and he thought I was crazy. Now look how popular these cars are it’s crazy. Just make sure you add extra warranty on the motors listen for ticks and keep money in the bank. I assume tho if you can afford a 70 to 100 thousand dollar car you can handle the maintenance. Chevy zl1 and the super snake or older Shelby cobra, hell the Chevy ss or newer 5.0 is a better bet. The challenger and chargers look so good though. Pick your poison though quality or constantly getting things fixed. I spend 100 k on a car it needs to be right not just the outside but the motor and surrounding parts need to be built to handle the power. Don’t mod them unless you got a lot of back up money and don’t put a warranty on them if you do mod it will cancel the warranty and t’s not cheap. So many people I know had to replace the motors on 5.7 to the bigger motors 392 and up. The 6 cylinders run good I know people with the 6 cylinder chargers and it’s smooth sailing . The challenger version of the 6 cylinder stinks and I love v8s it ain’t got to be the biggest but I’ve always owned v8s and the Hemis I love but even if you baby them they have problems
