Hi Cod3r If you upload your videos in 1440p (even if the video is natively 1080p) you get much better video encode by youtube and viewers can see small details or text much much better. Give it a try and keep the good content coming.

I hope you're able to do a follow up video or community post with how this return went. AliEx used to be ok for parts, but lately they've gotten really unreliable and AliEx always siding with the seller without really having any idea on the item or seller themselves I find now.

I once returned a MXM 3.0b card to Ali and it cost me 70 something euros shipping fees I think it was in 2016. Ali actually dealt with that and the seller send me back a new gpu and the whole process took like one and a half month in total. Back in the days Ali actually cared about customers and how the platform works. Ali also payed back the shipping fees after some documents I had to send them and by "the end of the day" everything worked out. Imagine doing this process today and what is the success rate :D

I have had fake parts and they destroyed a amplifier fried tracks and killed the PSU so I wire in others in to a second bard strapped to a heat sink the temp shot up so I did a mod to the bard. To drive with less voltage did work for a bit. So I filed the top down and it was just a single transistor not a darlington.

I recently had a problem with a Chinese seller, sending a substandard product to that advertised. The seller kept telling me to "be patient". AliExpress were no help, but fortunately I referred the matter to PayPal. After sending evidence of the different product to that advertised, PayPal refunded the full amount. I don't know if you used PayPal; but I only purchase with PayPal for any overseas products - especially from China. About a year ago I got some fake chips from China, but the seller quickly refunded and apologised. It's becoming a nightmare buying from China; especially chips. Good luck.

The problem is that AE uses a translator for all of the AE messages. You have to chat as if you are talking to a 6 year old and do not use euphemisms in messages as they do not translate well. I only buy on AE up to a $ I am willing to kiss good bye. I have had probably 6 or 7 disputes and won all of them except 1. I* buy from sellers who have 95%+ positive ratings, been in business for more than 2 years and I look at the 1 or 2 star reviews for gotchas. However in this case that would not of prevented this issue. I video the opening of every order I get from AE as well. I show the address label on the outside of the package and the order/tracking #. If an item arrives damaged I have proof. If an order is part of a consolidated shipment where multiple orders are combined I have video proof of each order that was included in the combined package.

You don't really expect Aliexpress to watch your video do you. I have found Aliexpress's 'customer service' and 'dispute resolution' processes to be totally useless. Part of the cost of doing business with Aliexpress I'm afraid.

It can cause damage even trying fakes on some boards, many of these chips with the same size/footprint but inside they are a totally different IC die inside could be anything - they grind back the plastic surface smooth to remove the original manufacturers markings and then laser etch fake markings onto them for a chip that is in demand and has a value worth selling

Hi Phil, I would mention something, but please don't take it badly. If it hurts your refund process you can delete it. I often have the problem that the IC's from China do not work, because they cannot be soldered on properly. Whether due to incorrect storage or other reasons, a grey deposit forms on the contacts, like corrosion. On the video it was not really visible because of the foil, but as if I had seen the same problem on the IC. I always check before soldering and if I see this grey thing on the contacts I tin the contacts separately. Sometimes it's really hard to apply the solder, it's so bad.

I have an idea: scrape/sand away at (or etch away) the surface of both a blown but genuine M92T36 and this fake M92T36 until you reach the integrated circuit portion of the chip. I wanna know if there is even anything inside it, and if there *is* anything, how different the genuine chip is from a fake one. I'd suggest doing it somewhere well ventilated if you decide to try it, but it'd be nice to know what the differences are.

Aliexpress won't even watch the video. I've had this many many many timesbefore.. But if you have to upload "extra evidence" they going to rule in favour of the seller. Again they don't read nor do they watch it. In some occasions they rule that you have to send it back, but you'll have to pay for it and most of the time this will be triple the cost of the items or 10 times or even more to send it back. This one time I bought something for 1.5k (1500 USD) and it wasn't as described, they didn't give me any thing, no refund nothing. I had to send it back. I'd checked with a shipping company and it wasn't allowed to send overseas from my country. I had to book a seafright a 20 ft container and it would cost 5 to 10000 USD to send it back.. LOL they didn't care, and they don't care. I told them that it would cost 10k and they still said "you have to return the items" , it was like "talking" to a wall...(Because after your refund starts they don't read/watch anything you update or upload).

@@CR7hg It all ended good. I sold the items for the exact same price I'd paid for it. Luckely some one wanted the exact items I got. I was upfront and told what I paid etc. It still was cheap and worth the money, but it was useless to me. It's also something like 4 years back. And I'm not planning to do such large orders from Aliexpress anymore.(I learned my lesson :P ) I don't have a creditcard, it's not commen in my country to have a creditcard. I don't know anyone with a creditcard.. Paypal isn't something I use or ever used before.

It's too bad that there are fakes even in packages. I was convinced that the exposed product was a second-hand product. I have doubts about requesting videos, I don't think even amateurs can understand.

Would the console turn on without the chip even present? If these chips are fake, then the consoles basically _are_ turning on without that chip present. If the console is not supposed to do that, then there must be a middle ground where the chips are not actually fake but rather poorly manufactured in terms of compatibility. I would suggest identifying a pin that should be ground, then probe the other pins with a multimeter, and then compare the numbers with those of a known working chip. There's still room for doubt.

I think the pads on the new chips could be to blame. I suspect a couple of them rejected solder despite looking like they were properly soldered. My doubt is in the fact that the console still turns on despite supposedly not having the m92 chip, considering that having fake chips on would be the equivalent of not having the chip at all. It would be great to see a video should how the console would behave without the chip on the board.

@@JamesWSleight I second that, I do have to pre-tin the pads of the chips otherwise they don't merge with the board, it's like they're oxidized from factory.
