Man I miss 2008 there was M45, E92 M3, ISF, RS4, G8 & C63 AMG. These days brand new n/a V8 sedans are so rare which is why I still have the IS500. The 507 is very special to me.

The top gear review at the time concluded the e92 m3 was the best being 5 seconds quicker around the track.

I bought one of these new in 2013, and I have yet to find a car that excites me more. At a certain point I finally decided that I'm probably never gonna sell this car, it's too special :)

@@masonichisenga3032 that was only an issue on early c63’s (‘08-‘11 pre-facelift). They redesigned the bolts after that.

Sam, the previous generation (w203) was called C55, not C43. C43 was introduced later (renamed C450 w205).

I had c55 amg, while great engine, no lsd, nose heavy. It did sound good but transmission was slow. E46 m3 was better car for driving.

It’s 2024 and it’s still one of my favourite sedans. That N/A V8 is a beast & sounds beautiful

Brilliant video, best I’ve seen on this car. I’m working hard to try and get one of these as a second car for my channel. Currently own the new CLA45s which is amazing but the w204 V8 is so raw and so special. It would be amazing to own both and compare the old to new AMGs for content too. Thanks for a great informative video, keep up the good work!

South Africa was lucky enough to get the c63 legacy editions. Only 10 were made and all 10 went to SA

Great video man. I actually have a car exactly like the one in the video. White, P31 Package, Silver wheels. To me it is an absolute dream car and I adore it.

Nice review Sam! My brother picked up a 2014 E63s last summer. Such a beast. I see it keeping a fair value aswell as the C63!

Love this video, fantastic presentation! I've had a few W204 C63s in various configurations (P31 + LSD etc), and they will never make a car like this again. My current one is a 2015 W205 C63S Sedan Edition 1 (only 6000 miles!), and while it is more luxurious inside and the motor is still surprising and decently loud, it is not nearly as raw and not quite as fun. Still hilarious but a little softer - and actually doesn't get any better gas mileage! I do miss that 6.2L N/A exhaust sound a bit.

As a 14 year old engine,around 25k used car,still beats c6 z06,e90 m3,isf,newer model such as gt350,5.0,scat pack,challenger,charger,charger,c7 in the NA form....the legendary 6.2 hand built engine is absolutely something!paired with the OEM Eisemann exhaust and the 6,4 pistons brembo BBK,it’s one of the most power NA V8 you can buy before the 458 and C8 Z06. Definitely a best bang for you bucks.

You gotta love that C63 especially Edition 507, it is one of the best cars AMG has ever made. Super car performance and everyday practicality. Last of the 6.2 litre V8 Future classic. Too bad they are so rare.

I love mine! Got a 1992 500E and a 2008 C63. Two cars I plan to keep for life.

I bought this car 5 years ago with 50,000 km on it and in the 5 years I had a ecu tuner problem. Now it has 80,000km on it and it’s my baby. I’ll be passing it down too my unborn children one day.

Thank you for the review. I traded my Porsche 911 40 Anniversary car for this back in 2009. I was at the Mercedes dealer buying parts for my daily ML and this caught my eyes. The seller said “ this thing will blow your P doors off” I asked for a test drive and without hesitance, traded my P. I still have and I love this car dearly. The sound and acceleration just put a smile on your face every time you hit the gas.

@@AshishBalaji you’re probably right, I might not, but I never regretted. Just the easy everyday driving , the acceleration, the sound, the Mercedes is just better. The Porsche you need to know how to drive it, especially at high speed! 911 used be my dream car but not anymore after owning one.

I own a 2011, will keep it forever, I understand when owners say the longer you have it and drive it the more you love it

People need to stop bringing up head bolts in these cars, I’ve worked for MBUSA for 10 years in service and I’ve seen 2 M156 engines with actual head bolt failure and that was mostly due to lack of maintenance (oil changes). Camshafts are more of a failure for this motor. Go find yourself a car with the 6.2 M156 motor and enjoy it.

@@Enzo-tg8uo no idea. Did it myself. Not that hard but I’ve built a few engines. My guess is shouldn’t be more than 3 hours of a professional’s time. Parts probably a few hundred. Took me 6 hours but I also did some other stuff while I was in there

Always find it funny people talk about fuel consumption when reviewing fast cars. Then I realized that's all I think about while driving my -17 S205 C63s now that fuel is so expensive😅

This is my dream daily, i actually have C-class coupe, but only C 350 Edition1 with 3.5 V6 cuz i wouldn't be able to cover the gas costs of 6.2 V8... but i will do my best to buy a C63 one day! Thanks for this great video! 👌

I have a c350 coupe as well. I absolutely love it. I need AWD tho so I will be upgrading to a c43 soon as the market gets somewhat back to normal.

I own a 2015 edition 507 and lemme me tell ya, this things a lethal weapon in the wrong hands. The M156 will go down as the greatest N/A V8, ever

C55 amg c32 amg before previous versions.

I feel like the current c63 (or last gen since the new one just came out) is not anymore unaffordable if we take in inflation...if you couldn't afford $83k back then you can't afford $110k now. Same with if you COULD afford it. The same jobs pay more (much more rather, my job went up by 50% in salary compared to 3-4 years ago) too

Picked up a 2013 C63 Coupe in June 2022. Loved it ever since, repair bills are a bit pricey. Gas mileage isn’t as bad as everyone always says. All how you drive it. Love the car other then the repairs

I have a 2013 coupe. Only issues were abs sensor on one wheel and tire pressure sensors. Easy to work on. Oil, brakes, differential fluid are a easy. Added CarPlay to the Becker nav slot and love it.

did an entire m156 upgrade and slapped a weistec supercharger on my 09 e63. glorious

technically w203 C32 along with the R170 SLK32 were actually the first full fledge AMGs from the ground up to what became the AMG we now know today.

its already going up in price. been checking for the last year and would say it has gone up with like 30-50k sek which only is 3-5k usd

The 507 didnt come with the SLS engine (M159). It is still and M156, but with a forged and lightened rotating assembly (pistons, rods, crankshaft), it's the same engine as the P31 Performance Package cars had.

Not all pre face lifts are affected with head bolt issues.... They didn't recall it but fixed it during production. 2011's were corrected. Check the engine number..

My dad has a 2012 c class diesel that looks like this, except it’s has an inline 4, single exhaust and no widebody, among some other stuff, I’m definitely gonna buy this car when I move to the us

0:42 Eventhough this is plastered everywhere according to AMG themselves the SLS was the first. It's because the C Class is a Daimler-AG product whereas the SLS is a Mercedes-AMG product. How do I know? I asked them myself when I was at the factory. Also the Black Series rear seat delete was optional. Ive seen, in person, one with a full porcelain leather interior.

Any AMG with the M113K will be good engine wise. What's more problematic is everything else on these ageing mercs, like electronics and ABC systems (if included). Any AMG will be expensive to maintain if you aren't able to DIY, it's that simple.

Just want to say the P31 shares the same forged engine as the 507 and black series also its red brake callipers only red .

The first AMG built engine (which is what we are seeing here in this C63) Was in the E class w211 first for 2007 in america. The previous c class AMG was the C55 the c43 was a W202 chassis.

I disagree. I just got my w204 running 541bhp. Immaculate service history amd car looks brand new. Straight piped with loads of carbon, it's a weapon on road that will only go up in value. Mine is 2013 . Just hit 60k. Drives like it's fresh out the showroom

This one year 2012 but very first was 2008... this one is facelift with different head lights and LCD display is like hidden, it´s fixed

The pre-facelift models that were produced second quarter > mid 2010 had headbolt issue fixed. This thing can be checked by verifing serial number on the engine. It has to be like on the facelift models. So for those (like me also) who like the pre-facelift models in terms of design can find one with this problems fixed. Nice review! M156 engine is and will be a legend.

@Atiba I can't take that chance, 21 year old who doesn't make too much money and living on my own. Building camshaft adjuster lockplates to stage 2, getting SLS black series lifters, and installing some bulletproof ARP headbolts. It helps that I'm doing all the work myself. Would rather spend this money and have it set for more power anyways than be having to drop 10k for a new engine. I'm at 65k miles

Sorry you got some of the facts wrong. The first real AMG C class was the c55 (could be that this one was not available in the US that I don’t know). The C55 had a handbuilt amg V8 engine just like the newer ones (same engine as the slk r171 55 amg). The c63 had different power outputs 457, 487 and 507 horse power. The 487 was the performance pack version which had some feats of the SLS engine such as conrods but the similarities with the SLS engine end there.

Its my favorite Mercedes 😫😫😫 but they are going to go up in price before i get a chance to buy one😖😖

I had a W204 as a C300, but after 3 years I hated that car. From day 1 I had this feeling the C250 CDI was better with 2 turbos, 500 instead of 300 Nm and half the gasoline-costs. And I was jealous looking to the fat ass of a E350. After a E350 CDI and a E400, I would have taken an E500 in the W213. Since it didnt exist, I grabbed the V222 S500. So there we are: 100 Nm more than the C63, same amount of horsepowers. So literally I have better stats than this C63 and the way bigger car plus 3 TVs and ambiente-light. And very likely it burns less gasoline. But the C63 still has great sound. But by the age I would rather grab a W212 with 585 hp.

The C63 never got the SLS's engine. The head bolts were upgraded mid-2010 (before the facelift), then the P31 package added SOME reinforcements sourced from the SLS. The P31 had 2-piece steel front rotors with red calipers, not composite with yellow. And the 507 model didn't arrive until 2014. Geez man... do your homework. 🤨

Put headers and a tune and it will spin :)
