I was thinking the same thing...there is a LOT of areas they could have saved more weight than the badging.... All that interior fabric weighs a lot....look at it all in the back..... You want to see a vehicle that saves weight, look at some of the hyper ferraris and lambos.....on some track cars you don't get glass, you get lexan...no interior panels...no flooring.....I mean, you have straps instead of door handles but you upholster the FLOOR......ummm...yeah.....

yes but this is still a street car. With the possibility to go on trackdays. You even get a free half cage into the interieur tbh. if you want to go all out you can go buy a 911 cupcar. That means lexan everything. no carpets no nothing like a racecar because it is a racecar

As a fan and owner of 911's, this is far and away my favorite video of yours, simply because of your reaction while driving. The pure joy and fun you're experiencing is so natural here.. so organic. THATS so real driving 911's. Nothing in the world compares. There may be cars faster, or that sound louder, or look more exotic. But nothing drives like a porsche. NOTHING. your reaction inspired me, I wanna have that experience. Your reaction really made me wanna do better, I wanna have a car like that, I am now going to put more work in school so I can be successful. I hope we all get the things we want.

This has been a favorite of mine for the past 12 or so years, dating back to the GT3/RS with the Metzger power plant. For the 2017-2018 model year Porsche did not produce the RS, in for the U.S market, solely the GT3. However the 2017 GT3 was powered by the previous generation RS power-plant, with identical displacement, horsepower and torque figures and offered in a manual transmission. If you want the same power mated to a manual transmission and don’t care about the RS badging, the 2017/18 GT3 is the car I would purchase. Then again I would always feel slighted and perhaps jealous 6 months later when the 2018/19 GT3RS was released. Yes it has 20 more horsepower + 10 lb/ft of torque, enhanced styling and aerodynamics yet doesn’t offer a manual transmission, but does this warrant a nearly $44,000.00 price increase over the 2017/18 GT3. I’m just not sure. Not exactly a bad decision to face! Nonetheless, both amazing, spirited and driver oriented cars. Still my dream automobile.

Porsche is known for their outlandish prices on vehicle options, with not too many options on a base car. So you're forced to buy a lot of stuff if you want all the bells and whistles. A rear wiper delete for the 911 is about $400. Probably the reason they have the highest profit margin per-car compared to other luxury brands and even the VW Group's non-luxury brands - at about $23k/car, or 18%

It's hard to imagine it's even a street car. Been watching 911 GT3RS vids for half an hour now just to hear the thing (and Chris Harris).

The most fun I have ever seen Doug have in any car is this!

Such a great color. And the Sequential transmission is absolutely better this way (- fore, + aft). The shifts are so fast!

All the effort to save weight so that 65 year old overweight diabetic dealership owners can drive them 5mph under the speed limit to the golf course.

Porsche's Pit Speed button is basically cruise control/speed limiting. Keeps the guys who have the money but don't know the rules from getting kicked off the track essentially (Assuming they know how to even program the feature). a Very Porsche RS car feature. lol

I’m glad I watched this video 3 years ago. I was a looter at multiple riots this past week. I brought my pick up truck and stole wheels from cars and police cars. I also saw 911 gt3 like this one but I remembered I needed a special tool to get those Center lock wheels off. I got the tool and was able to get the wheels. Thanks doug!

+Peder Hansen and be a ferrari bitch? no thanks. the cars are great, the company is one of the worst in the industry. that said i can't agree with your statement about lambos. some ferrari are better than lambos, but i'd easily take a huracan over a 488, for instance.

people buy a lambo to show how rich they are, porsche is too subtle for that

Love this car and love your review of it ... I’m in the market for a new car or a new to me car I should say lol ... hearing these gt3 models really hold value overtime but way confused if I should go rs or just gt3 . One of my other options is a way different c1 corvette 🤷🏻‍♂️

Remove them? There would just be holes... The blanks are because there is no button...

I've recently gotten to know the owner of Exclusive Option and they guy is awesome. He owns a Gallardo, Supercharged 911, Turbo Charged 2007 Caymen, and a sick muted gray Spyder which basically has the interior of a 918. He's a really awesome guy and if you are in the market for a SICK interior he can hook you up. (I was not told to do this, but just think he is an awesome guy with some real talent)

Im glad he got to review a Purple GT3RS cuz this thing is my favorite color and think I'm gonna definitely paint my 92 Dakota Sport V6 Magnum ax15 this color but with Gold and make it an old school 2 tone

I got the chance to see one of these in this color at the Sebring International Raceway recently, and, oh my gosh, it is gorgeous in person.
