They do this by making the fandoms toxic and they do that by creating GF/BF fantasy with fans making them so delusional. A normal K-pop fan will buy one album a while delusional fan will buy an entire box of albums. Companies are fueling this in order to make huge profits.

It would have better if they held the concert at a discounted ticket price. People usually take free stuff for granted. Security is not an issue in the new venue, because it's promotional event for an international expo and it has to be tight. The main issue is who is gonna pay for it, busan has shown no interest, and hybe is now looking out for sponsors. It's better hybe pay for it, it's a one time cost and they will have this reason to never hold such kind of concerts ever again. Busan should have done it out of courtesy, or at least shared the cost, for all the business it's gonna generate for the local people.

Indeed, its obvious Busan wont be able to win the World expo with how shamelessly theyve been acting. This will just be a major financial burden and theres not much point to this concert anymore. Though I can understand that itll be hard for Hybe to change it from a free concert to a discounted one or just cancel the concert because the government will definitely thrown them under the bus and people wont bother trying to understand the situation and just blindly give negative reactions.

The business that will be generated, comes down to restaurants. For the most part, thousands of BTS fans, will trample a given location and leave once the boys do. Similar to how Justin Bieber fans left the location in tatters, when he hosted free concerts around 2012. If anything, that ended up costing the city money. While beneficial for the restaurants, in the grand scheme of things, I do not think earnings will increase by that much. It is only one day, you would have an argument, if BTS performed for multiple days.

@@RyubearSaysGao it's South Korea, one thing is sure that kind of thing may not happen because the amount of backlash the band will face from the general public and in US, Army cleaned up outside part of the venue in sofi stadium. And even if it's free, the tickets go for sale for the fandom first and it will be sold out quick for the main stadium.

It's really not a free free concert the seats are alloted and u have to make reservations for it. some armys won the raffles for the reservations few days back. Also security will be tight .

I really think making holograms of them for this concert would be cool and safe for them.. since it is free for anyone wouldn't lose out on ticket money the only thing is ppl who travel there for it I know it's not cheap of course I was just thinking of their safety and if done right which I haven't seen one that wasn't amazing holograms are amazing.. I've seen videos of one they did of Michael Jackson after he passed and selena since she has passed etc I know the thought is out there but that's what popped in my mind watching this video lol

A lot of people seem unaware of what’s really going on. Remember when bts was asked to perform at the current president’s inauguration and they declined? Well there’s only so much they can refuse to do. The current government has been revealed to be horrible and very right-winged. Asking them to be Busan ambassadors may not have been a request but rather a command. Busan officials even went to jimin’s father and told him to try and convince the boys to accept being ambassadors. That alone is going too far. Then we all thought that Busan would be paying for the FREE concert, only for them to say that hybe will be paying for everything and it’s very clear that not only are they abusing their power here but they’re making sure that if anything goes wrong the boys and hybe take the blame

The problem is they already pushed their limits by saying no to performing at his inauguration. Keep in mind that when it was announced that they were expected to perform at the inauguration hybe wasn’t even contacted yet. This is just a small example of how they’ve been using the media to place people in difficult positions. And the current government would have definitely still ‘asked’ them to participate in certain activities because they want to use them to win the public over.

as a current bts stan, i believe you should check your facts, the only way you could get tickets was through a membership, and even after all of the membership tickets were sold out there was still a raffle involved.

Just letting you all know if you're not aware of the attendees of the concert, it's first offered to ARMY's with MEMBERSHIP ONLY. The standing area, though no designated number, it will be on designated area on the concert venue (so it's not all over the place), those who can apply for the standing are are only those with membership. Now for security, I hope they will do what they did for both their concerts in LA and LV wherein you are only allowed to bring clear bag with certain size and with strict entry check. Now as far as who will spend money for the concert, I think it should be the BUSAN government and not HYBE. If not, then I will say for HYBE to say" Nope" will cancel the concert and just let BTS go on world tour since many fans are willing to pay for their concerts worldwide.

I mean the impact these men have is unthinkable esp what they've done and still doing in kpop industry, for SK? I'm sure to say in the far future they're gonna be recognized as kpop legends. They're literally the biggest act/artist to ever come from SK. I hope nothing awful happen at this concert. Nonetheless i agree with you esp when kpop companies release 1000 new groups debuting each day ofcourse nothing wrong with that. I'm just highlighting how competitive kpop industry is.

I have a terrible feeling about this, people have issues it's scary. I don't stan BTS but no public figure should have to deal with their insane fans or die hard hater. With that many people attending I bet some of them are willing to attack them or invade their privacy.

Busan is going to lose the bid, they deserve to. Putting all the blame on the boys and hybe is so pathetic. Hybe will keep the boys safe, with the stadium being the venue I feel like some things have gotten better. Let's just hope that Busan doesn't force the boys or hybe into inviting more people than the capacity of the stadium which is around 53k.

I don't know how things work at concerts in Korea but here in the states, you go through a metal detector, you are patted down, and any bags you have are searched whenever you enter a concert venue. If that's not happening then security needs to be overhauled.

I'm so worried about the boys, they have no guilt on this yet they get the worst part of the public opinion. It's BTS' name that's at stake.

Now HYBE is just like every other major company that cares more about profits than the health and being of there artists. K-pop in general is losing it's identity because so many companies want to break into the US market. K-pop had a very special sound to it before 2018 and 2019 when K-pop started to become globally mainstreamed with the success of BTS and Blackpink. Groups would attend award shows together and promote on Korean shows like Doni and Coni despite being bad hosts. Now companies are now focused on the western markets rather than mostly Japan and Southeast Asia.

This doesn’t make sense since hybe is actually losing money with this concert. Busan isn’t paying for this. The government has put them in a very uncomfortable situation now and I don’t think they have a choice but to go through with it. This also just seems like an excuse to voice your complaints because the rest of this comment has nothing to do with the video. K-pop is westernized!! It comes from western music! everyone involved in the preparation of this isn't going to be prepared for the sh*tshow that will do down. they better up security to the MAX, or simply lower the attendance. who cares how many people go to a free concert if the objective isn't for money??? clout for politics...? it's laughable. no one would shun them for lowering this considering the MASSIVE concerns here that everyone is actively voicing. big venue = big profit if they're paid tickets, they're not making profit from tickets. they're trying to say, "look at this huge concert where we're having the biggest pop group in the world perform! look how successful we are as a nation!" oh please. think of more than yourselves, be humble. think of the safety of the people who will be HARMED here, i guarantee there will be injuries. bts is huge, they don't need 100,000 people to risk themselves. i don't know if i should say this, but look what happened at astroworld. too many people, people being crushed, and death. are you kidding me???? people could quite literally DIE. and if that happens, what will happen to not only these organizations reputations, but bts. they could be RUINED. travis scott's rep went down the drain, astroworld was a literal tragedy. i just pray no one dies, this isn't an exaggeration.

The danger of free concerts is that everybody can come in w/o registering their name/ID. If some foul play happens (God forbid)...then it'll be difficult to track down the culprit. Pls w/ all due respects, the local officials must do everything to protect these guys. Dont just use them n dont care about their safety.

As a foreign fan the lack of safety for BTS and concert goers is seriously concerning. If people are threatening Taehyung and Jimin why haven’t they taken action against those making those threats? That is absolutely terrifying and I truly hope HYBE takes matters into their own hands and take these threats seriously. I cannot imagine how scared all the members have to be after hearing of these threats. The government is absolutely 100% using BTS and it is so sad. HYBE needs to do something asap.

It's going to be 50,000 people now because they are performing at a stadium instead. And the stadium has a lot more entrances, exits, and restrooms.

my husband was a jet pilot and crop duster (yes, I am and "old) fan of bts!). dodged many bullets and power lines. when our son was 16, he took him to an ac/DC concert which was general admission. he said that was the only time he has ever been truly frightened. general admission should NOT be allowed!!

It’s free but there will still be security and barricade just like in their past concerts, bts had security and barricade for sofi stadium and there were no injuries and no one was hurt.

Hybe should seriously do something now. It's such a freaking mess. I don't think that a free concert is a good idea any more. The boys are also in danger like thousands are obssesive/toxic fans would pour into that stadium and even haters too.

Throw back to when kpop wasn't as massive as now, I think Google USA Kpop free concert back in2012 is the best free concert I attended. Venue, security, ticketing weren't perfect, but very easy and accomodating. Venue also experienced in handling big audience, entering the venue was quick (had to line up all day though) they also treated the multi-agencies artists very well. While this Busan concert sounds like a potential disaster unless they are willing to pour a lot of money to accomodate everyone.

I knew this would happen. BTS brings too much revenue to Korea to send them to the army but yet still for some reason people insist. They are going to be milked for all their worth; I really hope someone is still protecting them and their rights behind the scenes, or trying to.

It is the concert organizer who is responsible for the safety of all participants of the event where everyone has a great time. A great opportunity to show love and respect for one another, BTS is the ambassador of this attitude and their dream is for everyone to be happy. I hope the organizers will take up this challenge as 100% hosts.

There are several sources of incomes beside tickets. Maybe deals from weverse, zepto and naver. Also if the people who attend the concerts can't bring food or drinks, so they would be several food and drinks stands. Which sort of incomes sources. And maybe HYBE also selling their merchandise in the concerts places. Well free tickets weren't absolutely free, right?

Free cocert idea is a mess from the start. I am not an army but when I saw their fans were so excited about this the first thing hit my mind was members safety because it's not a local boy band. Bts is really popular so it's really risky to let anybody in but then I thought then there might be a strong security around them as it's government thing. But now when I am seeing that this thing so corrupted I kinda think their security will be meh and I won't be shocked if some anti blend in with the management from their side and do anything serious. Plus when I saw they did whole award ceremony in hybe building it's seems odd to me. Because their awards and whole arrangements were screaming we have low budget. If they really wanted to do the concert they should have put a lucky draw of 100k. So that chances of antis getting into the concert gets low.

omg i’m not a fan of bts but this sounds like a perfect equation for a crush i know how big they are and so many people will be pushing to get in quickly and with one gate people in the front won’t have enough space to get out so this sounds like a recipe for disaster crushes are a serious issue

I live in the Philippines and during their time having their tour here, I was on vacation. I know how exciting it is to go to a free BTS concert, but honestly something could go wrong. The government should stop using BTS, they should know that the boys are humans too.

Update: the concert actually went well, and by the end of it I'm pretty sure everyone is fine. No news reports so far have shown that anyone has harmed - the boys and fans are most likely fine. The main problem was the fact that it couldn't be live streamed properly on Weverse. In the defense of fans, weverse should've done a LOT more to prevent crashing, not to mention the comment issue. That's where I also put the blame on fans who comment 'stop commenting' as they also comment by doing so, not to mention other random comments. I believe in the case of the JTBC broadcast, it went well. I suppose a bittersweet concert but in the stage it felt successful nonetheless There are definitely faults of both weverse and the audience so let's not fight each other as we are definitely not perfect. It's in the past now, we can only learn from it :)) Also I wouldn't say hate on hybe as they literally went above and beyond. As with the military issue, it's a complicated topic hence progress is slow, we can't expect an asap response all the time, if exempted, I'd say it's a miracle Edit: yes confirmed they are enlisting

Okay, I’m an international casual listener and hardcore Yoongi solo stan, but as someone who used to claim themselves as ARMY, I’m saying this if BTS gets exempt from the military whether it’s because of international service or whatever, then any major artist in K-pop who has a big name should be exempt as well. That means the rest of EXO shouldn’t go or SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ, TXT when it’s time, NCT, MONSTA X which ever members are left to go in the military from there, SKZ, etc. If they are the biggest money makers within their label or have made global status then they should not have to go to the military. I know to most people a "free" concert for their favorite artist concert can seem really cool, but not everyone thinks of the risk that entails to the artists and the fans. I don't think having a show for "free" is not a good idea because well everyone can get in, and we all know as armys not everyone has good intentions when it comes to the members. Inviting 100,000 people to a concert for free isn't safe and is a dumb idea. I think they should have done discounted tickets maybe for the members' safety and for the armys safety too. It's also so sad that the government uses them like that after everything they did for their country. I hope the concert goes well for BTS tomorrow and I hope none of the members or the army get hurt.

I don't know how things work at concerts in Korea but here in the states, you go through a metal detector, you are patted down, and any bags you have are searched whenever you enter a concert venue. If that's not happening then security needs to be overhauled. And what the actual fuck is going on at Hybe lately? This whole year has been nothing but scandals and problems.

with such an experienced concert promoter as hybe I have no concerns about safety issues. It doesn't matter if it's a paid or free concert. Especially as the venue has changed. Hybe could cancel everything to avoid the costs, but that's not smart. Actually they are now in the position to make demands. so, finally put it on the table "you want BTS? Ok, we pay, but the military exemption is safe". This is the opportunity to stop the uncertainty.

Let's not bring up the topic of the enlistment since it was already decided by the government that BTS would attend the military while still performing, which sadly doesn't advantage the boys. Also, it's neither about getting the military exemption as a returning favour. It's about asking BTS themselves what do they want to do and if they want to perform at the venue, since they are being used only for the mere benefits of the South korean government. And regardless of the experience of Hybe or whatever, safety should never be taken for granted as there are still cases where people are able to harm or are in the position to potentially damage both the artists and their fans despite the tight securities etc.

I remember when Justin Bieber held a large number of free concerts. One of them ended up garnering over 300k spectators, which put the city on high alert. Police, ambulances, you name it. I wager that depending on location, BTS can more than amass those numbers. With poor management and few security measures, a free concert will be dangerous for fans *and* the group.

This is just a mess. I don’t think that BTS or HYBE is the problem. Busan city handled this unacceptably. Busan should have paid the price out of courtesy, or atleast some of it. The members saftey and security are also at stake. Busan city is the one to blame.

The best way is for fans to be very vigilant and report any suspicious people in the venue. The best and only way we can all contribute to help them be more safe since the government cannot do it for them 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Come back from the futur and Just BTS performances wise, it was one of their best concert and Army behave perferctly, Just Busan and gov being a fool, but BTS never disappoints.

Don’t understand how they’re doing this and changing so many things around months before the event …. These things should’ve been planned and covered years before, details should’ve been known beforehand including the sponsors and such. This looks so messy and so dangerous for the people planning to come, even the performers.

HYBE know what they are doing, they have top notch security which would have been increased now due to the threats. Of course the safety of BTS members is paramount, they are always very well protected as will be the Army's when they attend. The concert will go ahead successfully as planned. Hybe will always have security for the members. The problem is the venue, the sheer amount of security needed in order to keep a minimum of a 100,000 people safe is huge. The government has yet to find someone to pay for it all and have already changed venues twice already. I doubt the concert will happen.

I cant wrap my head around the fact there were no agreement made about the cost of the concert like just how?? There have to be contracts signed for the happening of the concert and yet they didn't discuss the cost and just announced they will be holding a concert? This is how I see it going forward. I've played a scenario in my mind so that no one would be injured or be harmed. And please don't bash me for my thinking and opinion. I still see the concert happening but with no one attending. I see the Live Play being canceled since if no one is allowed to go to the concert in person, no one should be allowed to attend the Live Play. I see security is up to date and making sure BTS is not in harm's way with the delusional shippers and being threatened by haters. Plus if the perpetrators figure out where BTS is performing, bad things will happen and I don't want to see my idols or anybody being hurt in any way possible. I think the concert should not be canceled or BTS would receive major backlash and feel like being blamed for everything. So with my thoughts on this mess, I think HYBE and BTS should still do this but with more precautions and consequences. To those who are planning to hurt the idols reputation or doing something bad to them, ban them for life for not be able to attend a BTS concert and put on them on the blacklist. If these delusional people come back, charge them or sue them and also throw them in jail. They are a threat to society and would do anything to hurt celebrities or make them look bad but that's not going to happen. 💜
