Courtney Tully no, probably from using fluorinated toothpaste. Kids swallow toothpaste all the time, especially when they are really little. I think you probably swallowed it. That’s why they make kids toothpaste without fluoride.

CuteLilMunch Im getting a whitening treatment at a dentist and I showed him my white spots on my teeth since I know they will stand out even worse once I whiten all my teeth. He told me there's a formula called MI Paste that you can buy online and place on the white spots to reverse the fluoride built in the spots. It definitely wouldn't hurt to try. I would suggest trying that first because I did get my whitening session one time without it. Sure enough the white stains stood out even more because I didn't go buy MI Paste yet.

Catalina Lopez the thing is with me I didn't have fluoride build up. I got really sick at 6 months old. I went septic and then I guess my teeth just didn't grow properly. My dentist said that it would be the smartest option. He did say though that of it was because of fluoride I would be doing that option. lol sorry for the grammar I'm not the best at it

My dentist years ago, told me it could possibly be linked to my mother taking a certain antibiotic while she was pregnant with me. I asked my mom if she was taking antibiotics while pregnant and she said yes. So I have always assumed that was the reason. I’m 45 and I’m still debating having them professionally taken care of. And BTW I was raised on well water. I don’t think there was fluoride in our water. Just for the record.

For you people out there, it is important to differentiate between "dental fluorosis" and something called "Turner´s hypoplasia" "Dental fluorosis" is something that occurs on more than one tooth(it is white marks on many teeth). "Turner´s hypoplasia" is something that only occurs on one tooth since it comes from a traumic hit. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enamel_hypoplasia

Hi! I’m currently struggling with white spots on my teeth (specifically from demineralization NOT calcium deposits or fluorosis). In my situation, I believe my enamel is weekend and demineralized. This can be caused by poor teeth hygiene (I.e not brushing your teeth at night), lack of nutrition, and smoking. I’ve noticed a HUGE difference so far, here’s what’s helped: 1. You HAVE to keep your mouth salivated - this is different from simply drinking water (which is important too) because saliva contains important minerals needed for your tooth enamel. 2. Use a PRO ENAMEL toothpaste to strengthen your enamel 3. Order or ask your dentist for MI paste. This is the topical way of physically putting the minerals back onto your teeth. It’s similar to toothpaste except you put it on after you brush your teeth and you don’t rinse it out 4. Try to eat healthier. This is a bit more vague but try to get as many vitamins and minerals as you can while your teeth repairs itself. 5. If you suffer from dry mouth while sleeping, try to get one of those mouth guards for grinding teeth and/or use mouth tape. - the goal is to keep your mouth NATURALLY salivated to increase your enamel’s mineral content. 6. AVOID BLEACHING/WHITENING YOUR TEETH - ever notice how on some before and after teeth whitening photos, the white spots look worse and more pronounced after the treatment? This is because you’ve literally BLEACHED your damaged enamel and now your teeth are dehydrated. Please please please avoid activated charachaol, whitening strips, etc until your enamel is fully healed. ****DISCLAIMER****** - I’m not a doctor or dentist and am not giving any professional medical advice! Please contact your medicinal personnel first. I’ve literally been researching this and experimenting for two years. My dentist wasn’t too sure of what it was and a lot of home remedies didn’t work for me but I have a great routine and results now! Ask me any questions, I’ll try to answer. Don’t give up hope, you got this :) **I would say the most important tip out of all of this is to keep your mouth naturally salivated and to not whiten your teeth**

Omg thank you so much I am also currently struggling with white spots in my teeth and I think it’s due from too much acidic/sugary foods and they make me quite self conscious and I don’t like the way they looked. I was so sad when I saw in other videos that these spots were permanent on your teeth unless you performed surgery to get them removed. I used all your tips and it’s after a while I can see that my spots are gradually fading, well you can still see them but they really helped thank you 😊😀❤️

Hi! I just found a white spot on the bottom of my front tooth almost a week ago and am scared I am seeing more on my other teeth. I’m not sure if it was from the large amount of sweets I ate from thanksgiving or bc of the extra whitening Sensodyne toothpaste I was using for a couple days. What should I do 😢

My mom said they are actually decalcifications (she was a dentist) they appear when a cavity started but never finished, and most often appear on the front teeth if you had braces which is why it’s super important to use fluoride when you have braces. If you use mi paste after you brush your teeth it can help your tooth get the calcium it needs to get back to normal. Also it can be great if you are developing a cavity

I have this problem. When I was little, we lived in a town that did NOT have fluoride in the water. So, the dentist told my mom to give me these fluoride tablets every day. Then we moved. She kept giving me the tablets. Turns out the new town DID have fluoride in the water. By the time she figured that out and had stopped giving them to me, the damage was already done. I hate the white spots and divets on my teeth. I've always been very self-conscious about them. 😕

I have a white spot on my top canine. It's super small and people never notice it (it's about the size of the tip of a tooth pick, maybe a tiny bit bigger) but what bothers me the most is that almost all my teeth (mainly the back ones) have white stains near the gums. Luckily the gums hide the white stains a bit but they're still quite visible. The 4 front bottom teeth all have horrible white stains on the back of them, luckily they're not visible since their at the back of the teeth. I just wish all my teeth were that pearly white haha.

I got my braces off yesterday and my teeth have white spots on them, especially my bottom ones. I talked to my orthodontist about it and she said that it's bc of a low pH balance. a good pH balance is 7 and apparently when you take sips of soda rather than just drinking it, it keeps pushing your pH down and can cause discoloration on your teeth where the brackets were. so basically straws won't help you no matter how much you try to convince yourself. you can brush your teeth with baking soda, rinse your mouth with baking soda and water, or go get a professional cleaning to get rid of them, but the latter is probably your best option.
