Yeah, I'm not a fan of the Zenvo either. But it definitely seems like Shmee is betting that this car might someday be worth like $10 million (which is may very well be)...assuming he'd ever sell it in the future.

Terrific deal, yes, or straight up paid to pretend to have bought it, make ad videos about it which are so incredibly transparently bought, then give it back and pretending that he "sold" it 6-18 months later... How clearly fake are his "Oh look, I came to this Cars & Coffee and someone just happened to truck in a Zenvo! I own one too, and I think it's the best car here!"??

@@Pseedholm There are so many ways he they could be doing this. I suspect he was either given the car at a massive discount which he financed, maybe even at 0% through Zenvo or the owners' finance companies, and they have promised him a guaranteed sales price at the end of the contract term (probably 1 year or 1,5 years in). So essentially they're loaning him the car just like any car manufacturer gives the press long-term loan cars, but they might've done this kind of contractual trickery to pretend he actually bought the car. Or it's straight up just a long-term loan and they're making all this "I bought a Zenvo" stuff up. But he might've actually just got the car at a huge (absolutely massive) discount and he's speculating on getting at least 1/2 of the car's price back at resale. Now with inflation it's good to park your money somewhere, and if he gets a massive discount from a car company who think it's worth essentially paying him half a million or so for a year's worth of massive marketing reach, why not? I want to make it clear that I don't dislike Shmee even though I don't like this fakery part of the business (though I do respect him less because of these stunts), and all this is only speculation, but I refuse to believe that it is in any way probable that he paid anywhere near list price and that it's not essentially a marketing deal between him and Zenvo.

Tim is a unique and special "car guy", a car spotter at heart and that makes him completely relatable. He gets just excited about seeing a special car as we do and that makes his vlogs just as enjoyable to experience as much as he enjoys the cars. One of the most real and defiantly a nice guy, with relationships he has made that has aloud him to drive some of the most epic cars in the world, and then share those with us. If you don't watch his vlogs you are missing one of the best KZreadrs on the platform. TY Tim and you deserve a 2mil Zenvo and I for one am excited to watch your journey with it.

@@carguy9292 At between 10 and 12 million pounds net worth I would be surprised if he needs his dads help. It looks like he makes close to 30k a month from just KZread not including his involvement in an finance company, sponsors, affiliate links, merchandise sales, brand sponsorships and investment earnings. it could have been at the start I guess but if you look up his financials I think the kid is doing just fine.

i always found tims decision to go zenvo kind of a weird one, but watching it being built and being driven on the rally definitely turned me around on his idea. seeing content on this particularly rare car and how brutal it looks to drive has been a treat

I'm actually excited to know that Zenvo is thinking about a new model, and I hope it's something completely new, I like the ST/TS lineup, but I'm sure they can make something new and really cool, and I was surprised that he wasn't buying a Koenigsegg, considering he also has a very close relationship with Christian and the brand.

By his sales pitch it feels like they gave him a chance to buy some stock in the company

Definitely, shmee is a snake, theres no way he spent 2m is a car without getting something major in return.

I just love Shmee. He’s such a down to earth guy that shares his absolute incredible cars and life with us. I’m so happy for him.

Shmee150 was the first automotive channel I subscribed to.

This is a story some of us have been waiting when we’ve seen Shmee’s post at Ed’s shed.

Good show. I would never want to own one of those things (hyper and even super cars) but it was refreshing to hear someone explain his options and also express the fact that he was VERY FORTUNATE to be even in a position to do this. 👍👍

My cynical side tells me that of all Hypercar brands , Zenvo would be one of the VERY FEW that would give Shmee a big discount in exchange of good media push. Bugatti ,Pagani,Koenigsegg have rich YTbers coming at then asking for allocations. Zenvo ,because of their terrible start, would need a famous YTber at their side trying to push the brand forward.

I used the Zenvo in Grid Autosport lately and it's a thrill to drive in the game. Way over the other hyper cars.

I mean let's be honest here shall we. Shmee didn't buy his Zenvo for the sticker price (meaning more than 7 figures), however it's a "marketing deal" made with Zenvo DK team directly for marketing exposure. Shmee made a pretty good deal on his TSRS. He probably got 50% or more in discount

It will be interesting what the Zenvo costs vs Pagani etc when it comes time to sell. I'm guess most of the established alternatives would have substantially risen in price, I can't see Zenvo having that strong of a resale / retained value.

A lot of people do seem to hate him surprisingly, but I've never gotten a genuine reason as to why other than "daddy's money" which has been debunked multiple times or "he's annoying" which is subjective opinion. I've just chalked it up to pure jealousy.

Zenvo has been one of my favorites since the ST1 Tim's road to Zenvo series was always a must watch for me.

People who think Tim got a reduced price, or Zenvo "gifted" him the car for promotion clearly didnt watch the entire 'Road To Zenvo' and this video etc. There is no way Tim can speak with such passion and emotion for a car that wouldnt be his.

Id love to see a cc850 on shmees channel. That car is built to be driven. So awesome to see him get a zenvo. I remember seeing a video of it on track years ago and thought it was so cool, amd now 1 of my favorite youtubers has 1 and drives it

@@slaynan421 the thing is, recycling parts isn’t a bad thing, but you definitely shouldn’t use a part like that in a key contact or viewing point. The steering wheel is your most basic connection to a vehicle so it better be nice.

I like this version of Tim. He can be a bit marmite to me. But he loves cars. I love cars. I appreciate that he shares his passion and knowledge with us. He’s earnt his success. I just need to get over the envy 😂

On Twitter KZread comments Instagram everywhere Everyone's always hating Especially if you're making a lot of money I genuinely think a lot of his haters just don't understand him For example Manny Khoshbin or The Stradman don't get a lot of hate compared to shmee despite both having more money than him It's because they are more open and tell their story from the ground up so it's more relatable and understandable Shmee doesn't owe us his story but I also remember thinking he was the son of a rich Dad and found him annoying because of that about a year ago Then he did interviews talking about how he made money himself and just was more transparent And now I'm defending him in the comments section like his brother lol He wants to separate his private life from online stuff And that's fine But it's so hard to hate on someone like the Stradman who shows you his gf, how he lost money on his house, how he lived outside his car when starting his channel, his whole house building process and so on

Who in real world would take Zenvo over bugatti, gma, pagani, ferrari special edition or Koenigsegg???

The reason no Shmee fan can be a hater is because we’ve watched him from the beginning when he was just a vlogger flooding KZread with videos before ever showing his face, up to when he bought his r8 and his adventures, up to his first mclaren and all of the growth he’s experienced over the past…what 10-15 years or so? He’s the pinnacle of hard work and persistence, and yet somehow he’s done it all while still managing to be a decent human being.

Absolutely amazing looking car! But that bright green one that was in the back...🔥

3:30 Funny I had a neighbor that had Lamborghini's and Ferrari's and had the same problem. He couldn't take the car and just go grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant because of the attention and issues that might arise. So he got a C8R just to knock around it where they could go shopping and out to eat and not worry about it. While not hyper cars, its about the same basic issue. 👍🤠 I on the other hand will park my F350 anywhere, so I can't relate! 😲

Well, despite what I think about the desirability of the end package, to be fair: it does have a massive amount of very high-quality engineering in it. They use lots of exotic materials, apparently they do do things properly, they test their product thoroughly, and above all they've created lots of bespoke in-house systems and tech. I may not think they've been successful in the end due to shortcomings in other areas and yet-unrefined areas, but there's no doubting there's lots of impressive stuff in those cars. Couple that with how expensive bespoke cars are nowadays and the price isn't that outrageous. _If_ Zenvo one day comes out with a new model that is much more cohesive and successful, then that might make very early Zenvos desirable and gain in value? Unlikely, but... Vintage car remanufacturers in the USA routinely ask well over half a million to over a million for old cars they've straightened up, shined up, and plonked crate motors into... Ruf made an impressive, but not that massively capital-intensive completely new interpretation of a 911 without any revolutionary or really cutting edge tech (a carbon tub, yes, and they did redesign just about every part, but in today's world that is pretty routine and only counted in work hours instead of massive investment). They charge about a million for a redone, 'simple' old 911. They've publicly told us they only invested €12 million into its development which is an astoundingly small investment, and for sure a fraction of what has gone into Zenvo.

@@20nobody20 according to Car and Driver, it’s based off a GM LSx crate engine. The heads do look eerily like LS stuff also. I don’t think that takes away from the car, because while the block may be LS based, the rest is ‘just’ bespoke/high end parts bolted into/onto it.

The trunk bouncing the way it does around the 3:30 mark doesn't speak too well about how polished of a car it might be.

for me also, the Koenigsegg Gemera V8. 2300hp and 2750nm torque in a 4 seater GT cruiser. its my perfect car.

i love that he didnt come on and talk about the car itself, the numbers, power, tilty wing, yatta yatte. instead he gushed about the PEOPLE behind the car and how great THEY were to work with. good stuff 👍

You can't get a brand new hypercar under $2M these days. and also, cars are subjective, you might only focus on the HP and torque figures. but other ppl look beyond that. at the end of the day, zenvo is a great car in itself, stop the hate.

To me the pinnacle of hyper cars is the Czinger 21C. I really hope you can get one of those.

I'm sorry but the bug never out shined the mclaren F1. Short of it being faster the F1 is better in every way (in my .02). And now the value of the F1 vs the veyron or any Bugatti damn near really shows. A milestone in its own way that paved the way to today, just never had the love for the bug like I do the F1

@Ethan Calder not quite, cheapest one you could get is about 15 million roughly. The LM is worth probably 50 million or so and is on its way to the next 100 million plus car.
