I unno about first, that’d be the F40, but I’d still rather own one of these - a GTS in yellow.
I love the 355 but that maintenance is intimidating! Looking forward to seeing the cambelt change with the engine still in the car. Never heard of that fuel tank drop approach!

I'd never heard of it either, and I would love to see it done too!
You should maybe daily it for some time, and give us this content. Also, go over some of the items that everybody say that you need to service and make 355's costly, like exhaust headers (and maybe alternatives to that), timing belts, gaskets, leaks, fuel system, what to do if your 355 hasn't gone through the recall, what to change, that kind of technical informative stuff that we all see the magazine boys talking about, but would like to hear from someone experienced like you. This one is my dream car, a life goal achievement. And depending on whatever this rumors are exaggerated or not, I might shot for it. Great content, thanks a lot for this one. Keep it comming.

Agree. Great points. Also, in my view, the 348 is a really beautiful car 😉

The 355 just needs a panel cut out of the firewall like the 360, so the belts can be replaced without engine removal.

Lovely content. I’m blown away there isn’t another digit at the end of the subscriber count. I’m doing all I can to promote your channel! Excellent production, topics, and variety.

Ratarossa might’ve missed it in this or another video, but why did you sell that 2nd car? And what was the third F355? And technically, this is not your fourth F355 but your first 355, seeing it has the F1 gearbox 🤓
Recently subscribed to the channel and working my way through the videos, really enjoying seeing your cars and good to see someone with so much enthusiasm doing the work themselves
That noise! Shivers up my neck, EVERY time!!
Good vid, thank you - your presentation and production standards are way above what one has come to expect from so many motoring channels. Nicely done 👍
Please make a video about more info on the fuel tank drop approach on cam belt service and how much in detail it could cost because that’s a game changer

Fantastic video - thanks for sharing this great video on the F355!
Love your 355! It’s guys like you and Dan (Normal Guy Supercar) who gave me the reassurance that Ferrari ownership is completely manageable. Bought an F430 and have no regrets, just pure happiness.

Love it, they sound amazing with the Kreissieg exhaust
Can't wait thanks for the video
One of the best channels on KZread!!!............Hope there's at least another 10 years of videos!.. 👍
I really enjoy the content, thank you. Hello from Naples Florida
Great update Scott and so appreciate the content at this time - my fave Ferrari is the Dino then 308 with ever so slightly decreasing returns as we come up to now through each evolution of the mid engined cars - your F355 looks amazing with the roof down when tonneau is in place however that 308 is just wow including its patina and USA bumpers - take care of you

Thanks Malcolm, I agree on the Dino !
Thanks for that one Scott, as you say one of the prettiest Ferraris and interesting to hear the story behind it having seen it in the background of so many of your videos.
Always enjoy your videos looking forward to more on the 355
Another cracking down to earth post. 👍
I'm sold. Have been watching your videos for a few weeks. I have my first dream car, which was a 92 corvette. Was very close to going for a 96 viper gts, but you have sold me on the ferrari i have always wanted. Actively looking for a 355,and even if I have to give her major surgery ( not as experienced a mechanic as you) I at least have my vette to enjoy in the meantime. Thank you sir!
i love the passion you have for the cars.
That sweet sound!
those wheels are straight out of the '90s and i love them. they remind me of the many blissful hours i spent washing brake dust off the wheels of my nissan zx twin turbo.
Thanks for the video
Didn’t realize you had so many 355’s. Sad for your first one. I love my ‘98 F1 Spider; a refined open road car, great seats, ride, steering, genius transmission and potent engine. Worth it.
My dream car! Nice video.
Great! Looking forward to the cambelt change videos.
Thanks for Sharing. Looking forward to seeing more on The 355. Hope to purchase one sometime later this year or maybe in 2021 when all the virus crap is over. Once again. Much Thanks. Wishing Both You and Your Family Good Health. Cheers. Stay Safe.
no joke, one of my favourite channels of cars and especially as it is a Ferrari channel!
Brilliant Video, I am looking to get one, thanks for your help an knowledge
Another great video, keep them coming! Ceramic coatings are excellent and make cleaning the car in the future so much easier. But you’ll need to spend a good bit of time on the prep of the body work before applying the ceramic coating.
Yes! After 2 weeks of complete lockdown here in NZ and with the complettion of his video, I can now officially confirn that I HAVE FINISHED THE INTERNET!
Lots of respect for you. I love restoring things also.
Great Infos and videos about the F355. But which F355 version is ugly ??? NONE !! - I like the GTS most, because it has the lines of the coupe and gives the experience of an open car - with a very pleasant flow of air. You can drive full speed without roof. I have not four F355 in my life - but only the ONE, MY BELOVED F 355 GTS now for more than ten years (after 20 years driving Porschis) - Greetings from Germany. - Can belt only every four years, that's enough. Btw: I love Ferris since the 1960s...I think, you are a pretty young guy - with really great wisdom about Ferraris!
I used to go to Maranello’s on the weekends as a young teenager to see if I could get a ride. I can’t remember the chaps name but he took me out in a 355 and it is THE best sounding Ferrari ever. Hits the heart every time I hear one.
Love the car... my murcielago is having a ceramic coat this Friday will be good to compare notes
Thanks for sharing your experience with the 355. I find Ferrari's intriguing, this show is just more fuel for that fire( fire extinguisher check!)
Love the color of yours, very special. I had a yellow gts 15 years ago, never should have sold that.
A few years ago I was fortunate enough to be driven around on a track in a 355 by a professional racing driver. It was a thrilling experience, just love the sound of that engine. Unfortunately he screwed a corner up and we flew off the tarmac and ended up on a field 😂 Luckily the car didn't get damaged too badly.
Great stuff!
Very nice video as always. Which independent garages can you recommend here in the UK to get the belt change done? Live in Coventry area, but can be also somewhere else...
The car from the Got the Life video. Korn drummer was driving it
Love the 355 and Testa Rossa! The side strakes are beautiful and the car just exudes high class. Everytime I see one..it makes me want to stand back and not even breathe on it. The only one ive even been scared to be near was an Enzo.
Great video. People always say BMWs are expensive to own and finicky, but with a little bit of mechanical ingenuity they’re dependable and not that expensive. I’ve got a Z3 with 190,000 miles on it that I daily drive and put over 1000 miles on it every month and it’s never let me down. Also, a friend of mine had an estimate done for his wife’s E46 for a water pump and thermostat and they quoted him 1,600 dollars US. I did the exact thing on my E46 for about 120 dollars US for parts and an afternoon of free work provided by myself. BTW, I’ve got repair videos of all of my BMW stuff on my channel if anyone is interested. Cheers.
The Ferrari 355 is absolutely my dream car. Of course I’m just a poor artist that seems to have nothing but bad luck so I doubt I’ll ever own one. It’s great to see you having such an awesome time in this little piece of perfection and taking is all along with you. Thank you for sharing I really enjoyed this.
Completely informative and enjoyable😷😷😷😷😷😷😷
Just subscribed mate
Great video Scott, I do all of the servicing and work on my Porsches and they are far cheaper to run than my daily diver Mercedes W212 👍
Great Video! Wondering why you decided to keep the F1 gearbox vs. the 6 speed manual? If you could chose between the both, which would it be? Thanks!
Lovely car chap. I had 308GTS qv and then 348GTS. Miss both... even with my current Macca 570 Spider, I have to admit your exhaust sounds WOW... 🤓
Beautiful, I love em all including the 348
Im looking at F430 spider or a 458 italia. Prices will be coming down further in the next month. Higher mileage F430 spiders down to $90,000 USD in the US at retail. Will go lower. Very tasty at the $75k mark.

@@Ratarossa That's a given :)
The 355 was my dream car in the 90s. My favourite would be the GTS having the body shape of the Berlinetta but with the fresh air motoring option. I don’t really like the full convertible version even with the tonneau cover. To my mind it looks a little awkward. In retrospect the more analogue 348 actually appeals more, the Testarossa styling looking better with time and distance!
Hey Scott, cam belt service for 750 pounds...wow ! Over ten years ago, I had the gear selector shaft cup seals replaced on my Mondial QV by the "dealer", a 2 pound part...they charged me $2100.00. Ouch ! I did it myself the last time for around $30 and some of my time. A 355 cam belt service here in Perth, I dare say would be about 3000-4000 pounds. In saying that, it is the Ferrari agent dealer...I'm told their mark up on parts is up to 900% Boy do I love my Mondy ! Cheers, Marc
The F355 is one of my favourite vehicles, I like yours the colour combination is nice
Wow that drive back from France 🇫🇷 must have been lit 🔥, i love France and ferraris, awesome cool 🇬🇧🤟💯🤠👊⚡
Rear right reverse light not working? Great videos!!!!
Such a lovely color, much better than the standard boring red.
From what I've read, the reason to do an engine out to change the came belts is so you can do it with the use of a degree wheel instead of just relying on the factory marks, which some say could be out of spec. Any thoughts on this?
I have a Ferrari Becker cd changer if you happen to need one. The F355 was the first Ferrari I started and drove, my favorite.
Not sure if it was a cold engine or not, but couldn’t hear the air injection pump running. Love the colour, good to see something other than red.
I look over the bonnet of a 355 from the drivers seat and see the road. From my 328 I see those wonderful haunches. A fine looking car is the 355. Will keep my 328.
Awesome video, the 355 engine note is ridiculously filthy!! What do you do for a living to have been able to afford your first ferrari in 2000???
The F355 GTS is similar wrt little wind in the cabin with the top off. I can wear a loose hat without losing it during spirited driving. That surprised me. Belt service hear around San Francisco runs ~$12k, add $9k if you need a new exhaust manifold.
Do you plan on doing the ceramic coating yourself? If not, I can recommend a guy in Mildenhall, Suffolk (Patrick Merryweather from Absolute detailing) near the US bases. He has a lot of experience and highly recommended by many. Best of luck!
Absolutely adore the F355 the best looking Ferrari in my opinion even taking into consideration the older cars. You're a lucky man. I do like the 348 also, similar proportions to the 355. The newer cars are of no interest to me at all. Enjoying the videos.
The most famous 355 fire might be Joe Kramer's (drummer of Aerosmith). It delayed tours. My family owned the salvaged car. The hood is now up for sale by drum memorabilia guru, Don Bennett.
Beautiful car Most definitely How is drive the 360 everyday?
Hi I’m thinking about getting a 348ts. I really like the info you give out, is there anything i should be looking for off the bat?
Best sounding Ferrari!!!
The 360 and 308 ALLWAYS looks like they need a damn good wash!
Nice and hübsch car. !!
Best sounding Ferrari IMO. That exhaust kicks ass
Hi, please can you tell me if the exhaust of this 355 is the standard one or you have done some upgrade or changes with Tubi or Capristo ? Thanks
Awesome car. In my book that counted as an essential journey ;)
Just for comparison, Audi quoted me £750 to change the cam belt and water pump on my 2.0 litre diesel. That's a standard price on their website so not trying to rip me off. Needless to say, this is where specialists come into play.
What is your take on the 355 GTS? I’ve always been a fan of targa or t-tops over a convertible on most cars and maintaining the hard roof line on the 355 but adding the ability to open up seems like it would be the best of both worlds.
@Ratarossa
4 жыл бұрын
Yes I really like the GTS, all three models have there little quirks but agreed the GTS really is the best of both worlds.
Can you buy the glass top engine hood for these ? Or is it certain years that had those?
Was this car up for sale a few months ago? Lovely car!
Too bad I don't have a neighbor like you. 355 is one of my favorites.
The 360 CS sound the best. The F355 sounds also fantastic! But in the end.... after my first drive in a 308GTS i... i’m in love! It was a Black 308 with black / red interieur. Just one day..... i need tho have a 308GTS i in black! to revive my first time driving a Ferrari! Just one day
Nice sounding bird song 🐦
I trust you've replaced the dodgy fuel lines in the silver 355???

the 355 is the evolution and the final version of the V8 handling first, power second Ferrari's before they became too fast to drive, and its actually lighter and quicker than the 360 that followed it, as they kinda flat out lied about it and gave race preped cars to the roadtesters when the 360 came out in order to best it, and in order to actually get that performance, well you need to kinda do what he did with his ferrari 360 here, plus the F355 gives the kind of performance the V12's gave in the late 60's and 70's on the basemodel car with four less cylinders and better gas mileage. I mean this car was so good, lamborghini stole the viper V10 and put a downsized version of it in their cars to steal its thunder, only to fail spectacularly and so far the only thing they ended up doing was stealing the thunder of the viper.
had 2 they all good. currently in a 99 Spyder
In 2009 I had the opportunity to buy a silver F355 with gorgeous deep red interior, Somewhere in the €30+k range. A steal compared to how much they cost now. Didn't do it and instead I bought all new furniture for my house. If only I could turn back time...

Right reverse light out You’re making look into taking general mechanics as a hobby!
How will servicing your 355 minter yourself affect its resale value, should you need to sell? Buyers get very hung up on having main dealer or recognised indy service history.
Do you plan on expanding the garage?
Love it
So how do you stop the potential fire?
Still, after so many years, designs, styles, tendencies, fashions, electrification, is that my all the time favorite Ferrari ...F355, just beautiful.
Beautifull car :)
