Here's Why Fred Durst Basically Disappeared

Ойын-сауық

In the 90s there were so many subgenres of rap music, fans were spoiled with the variety. There was gangster rap, G-Funk, the hardcore rap of New York, and there was also the short-lived rap-rock.
One of the pioneering mainstream groups of rap-rock was the band Limp Bizkit. Its frontman Fred Durst was one of the most recognizable faces of the sub-genre and he even started a mini film career and ventured into directing.
So, where is Fred Durst these days, and what is he up to? Is there a reason why he’s disappeared from the spotlight? To find out why, watch this video!

    A big pile of shit. Love how he’s been trying to go indie or w/e. I hate that during the height of the band’s success he got a Kurt Cobain tattoo on his chest (along w/ Elvis or something). So every time he’d take his shirt off, Kurt would be (hypothetically) looking out into the sea of ppl he’d have hated; all the frat bros, all the sexual assaults (Woodstock ‘99), etc

    I've probably watched the video, of them in germany. It's right, when the voices from the movie Akira plays out. It's like watching Bob Ross paint, except with some awesome guitar skills. I showed it to my buddy, we both jam together occasionally. I'm like listen to that guitar skill, he asks. It's the amp, wasn't it. No, that comes from playing so long. I mean listen to, how he makes his guitar sounds. Like Chubbs Peterson said, it's all in the hips. Except this is way different

    He's said that he didn't really like the way fame went with LB, and he was pushed by his label into acting out into the commonly perceived Fred Durst persona. It's part of the reason they made their label release "The Unquestionable Truth" with no promotion cos he got sick of the publicity. He even accepts that Limp Bizkit aren't popular in America anymore, which is why they rarely play NA anymore. They still pull crowds in Europe which is where they go most often, because rock and metal have a much stronger audience there than in America.

    Never understood why people hated him/them so much. Most people I think just disliked Fred. Most peoples argument is that they were just a cover band and the other is that they "sold out" to go mainstream from their early work. Either way they were the shit for quite a few years. Awesome tracks to work out to, and still are, although Gold Cobra absolutely SUCKED! They were also a victim of the changing music scene. The 2000's saw the death (murder) of hip hop and alternative for the garbage that you hear to today that the millennials seem to listen to for whatever god fucking knows reason.

  • @hon3yweed

    Yeah I don't understand it either. Maybe because I never saw an interview with him, just wasn't interested in that sort of stuff. I saw them live before gold cobra came out and that shit rocked. Always loved results may vary and the starfish record.... basically grew up with them.

  • @monmonmon99999

    @monmonmon99999

    I don't understand either. I listen to music, not to singers drama or private life. There are many bands I listen for more than 10, 15 years and I could name most of their songs, albums and in some cases even the year they were released, but if I was asked band members name or some other details, I would barely be able to answer or maybe could not answer at all. If it's nothing over the top, then what artist does outside music, should not affect work of a artist. I don't know why exactly Fred is hated and I don't care, if I like his music, I will listen. Well, if he, for example, stole songs and made them his own, then it's another story.

    According to Wes, the band had finished their instrumentals for Stampede and are now awaiting for Fred to inject his vocals. Unfortunately though, I feel after all the bombardment of hate towards Fred, he has turned mic-shy. Now, he's just relying on past glory when I feel if he just locked himself away for a month and roared into that mic again, he'd return with a vengeance.
