It's like WB only wants shows that appeal to the Smallville crowd, which I always thought was over-rated and far less mature than many of DC's animated shows. I get that maybe they're afraid if they make things too serious on TV they'll end up making the mistake they made on the big screen (making certain characters too dark), but it's frustrating. They need to trust the source material more, instead of trying to force every hero show/movie to have the same over-used tone.

It did NOT do well by the numbers. Had it been watched by a great population (ratings), it would have continued. Unfortunately, many programs (and movies) need "young" (teen, early twenties, and even tween) and/or popular actors/people for great success.

DC Universe canceled (due to canceling their hit shows for stupid reasons...and renewing their dumb shows) . Netflix buys DC universe and makes season 2 of Swamp thing and deletes Doom Patrol from memory. Also, why in the world did they use a different cast for the doom patrol in Titans and the real doom patrol series... Why in the world is doom patrol getting a 2nd season? That would be like Netflix canceling Jessica Jones but renewing Iron Fists for a 3rd season... It was done after season 1 but at least Netflix gave it a second season.

@@yu-gi-noob9656 Swamp Thing deserves a second season over Titans and Doom Patrol combined. It was a very well put together show. Titans gets annoying at times with Robins attitude. Doom Patrol is just...I don't know..... If you enjoyed it thats good though. I think the donkey portal was the last straw for me lol. It just wasn't for me. Maybe if I was a drug user or something... :)

See this is exactly why we can't have good things, 'cause we CANCEL THEM!

Swamp Thing had the best pilot episode of any of the DC live action TV series. From the set design, special effects, make up, location, to the acting - everything about this DC show was uncharacteristically top notch. Its so sad that what could have been DC's best program to date has been canceled prematurely, when I can think of a lot of lesser shows that DC spends money on, which should get the ax.

Fingers crossed. I love the show and it made me discover Swamp Thing who is now one of my favorite DC characters.

So what it really boils down to. No one really knows why the series was canceled. These are all speculations.

Kind of Looper's thing, but yeah it all is. I am sure that they are re-evaluating it like they re-evaluate everything, which could mean DCU being absorbed into Warner's streaming. But since Warner has revealed literally nothing about the service besides it's price and it being paried with HBO somehow don't know if they even know that. Have not even heard talk of what original shows will be on Warner streaming, where as this time with Disney+ we knew several. I honestly am not sure Warner even knows what it will be doing. I think ATT just heard Disney made a streaming service and said "us too" and have been making everything else up as they go along.

Yup. It definitely wasn’t because WB was blind sided with the cost. My guess was that AT&T looked at Swamp Thing’s cost, compared it to other DC shows, and decided to axe it because they could make a couple other cheaper shows with the same amount of money. AT&T had a problem with HBO like this. AT&T wanted HBO to focus less on quality, and more on quantity.

I was one of the sculptors on swamp thing, it's a damn shame. They are still paying rent to store all the stuff we made. Doesn't make sense, maybe their building hype, but that don't pay my bills

The cast was so excited, I know it broke the hearts. I never get to work on horror, which I love and I did my best to make great, even my brothers son was so excited he begged him to ask me to show him the sets, which I did and he was grinning ear to ear the whole time. We did our best

Matthew Keyes Quite a lot actually. First episode you already see swamp thing and in Both episodes there’s a lot of action. Also good interesting characters, cool swamp en good loooking cgi

Why does all the good shows get cancelled so fast?

If DC would ease off the trigger and let their stories develop they would surpass marvel. Thor and captain America TANKED at the box office, but marvel went ahead and kept going and now they make way more money than you could imagine. Billion dollar movies for them are the norm now.

They really gotta stop creating then cancelling DC shows and movies... I'm more of a DC fan and they keep getting my Hope's up and taking it away lol

King Mere Bitch please, Marvel have cancelled alot of their shows too. Besides, Marvel barely got good comics, games, TV shows, or Animated Series other than movies. If I had to pick over them, DC would be almost everyone's choice. However, as I always say, these things are subjective...

All i have to say is this show was great, James Wan and everyone else really showed what they could do with this show, they should that they can truly balance the dark with the light. The only negative thing from this whole series is that it was cancelled. DC finally delivered here and they even surprised me, a DC Fan boy, but then they disappoint yet again by cancelling. I'm not trying to knock Arrow or Flash but this show had a lot of potential especially how the characters fit so well.

I don’t understand.. we get crappy TV shows on Netflix and they get a lotta seasons.. and if we get a good show we get teased and only 1 season while the crappy ones get 10. I really liked this and i really hope they continue it.

One of the best and unique superhero genre series out there after watching 2 episodes. I already on board when James Wan is in it, I knew he prefer practical effects and that swamp set are top notch! The cast, production value and horror approach are great mix but yeah, seems AT&T & WB prefers the common approach of the CW style.

Man we've been wanting to see Swamp Thing in the movies and the DC Universe for every since the back in the 80s

I got about three episodes in and I’m so captivated by the whole idea of Swamp thing, then I looked to see if there would be a second season and I stumbled upon this. Sad times

Only scene ep1 and OMG it was good, the lab scene reminded me of the movie THE THING.

I disagree. Swamp Thing is better than both, but Titans is better than Doom Patrol.

Who ever is running the DCEU needs to be replaced. If that's no realistic, then they need to allow someone else run the company

Yea and MCU is gonna throw a huge budget at their new Disney+ shows..now watch how good they are. Look at the new Mandalorian show.. a Star Wars show with millions of dollars a episode for a budget and watch how good that ends up being. It's a damn shame man because Swamp Thing is a incredible show but very good effects

WTF the show is amazing, easily one of the bests of the decade.

The most DC thing i know (including comic books) isto cancel something that is really good before it even has a chance. Anytime they put out a good comic that i end up loving, its cancelled less than 6 issues in

Since Marvel taking their stuff off of Netflix,,, Netflix should start up on DC material!!!

That's exactly why Netflix probably won't partner with DC or anyone else on long-term projects ever again. One-offs, specials and movies sure, but not series. Disney left Netflix with a big hole in their lineup which cost Netflix a lot to develop. Netflix should be very cautious about risking long-term investment in IP that they don't control.

Person A: We need interesting new ideas for television. Person B: how about a show about a supernatural swamp creature... Person A: Go on... Person B: ...but instead of a suspense-horror series, it's a crime procedural! Person A: (facepalms)

I feel like streaming platforms destroy series like this. They announce a show, then it comes out on one service and nobody ever hears about it again. Then it randomly pops up 2-3 years later on other platforms and people finally get a chance to watch it. By that time it’s long been canceled making any investment you have in the show irrelevant.

I think the thing i hate the most about this cancellation, is that at episode 10 they leave you with so many cliffhangers which would have been solved if they still had the 13 episodes to make instead of 10. Yet now i feel overwhelmingly unsatisfied since it ended right as things where really ramping up. Also disappointed because i assumed Sunderland and Woodrue would be season 1's villains. Then season 2 would have finally been Anton Arcane where shit would have really started getting gnarly D,:

Stupid decision. I loved Swamp Thing when I was a kid. It was one of my favorite shows back in the 90s. They should have advertised this more. A lot of people didn’t know it was even on.

Swamp Thing is hard so far!! They always cancel the good shit SMH .. marvel may smash in the movies but DC has the comics and the TV shows on lock! ..this was a horrible decision 🤯

Ugh... this makes NO sense. So far the show is great. Unless this show falls apart epically, WB has made an epic mistake.

CW got broadcast rights now. But Mark Pedowitz said as of now the are no new episodes. To bring a new season, DC and the CW would need to negotiate

A friend referred me to watch this show. They need to brings this back. Just because the Justice's League movie did bad. It doesn't mean to treat everything else like it. Bring it back

See this, is why I wait to see which shows survive cancellation at the end of the TV season before starting new shows. I don't care how good it is, if it only has one season I can't watch it 😞 And now to mourn Doom Patrol and Swamp Thing 😢😭

It's a shame that this show was cancelled, it had everything from great story to a killer soundtrack... Yet at the same time the fucking kardashian show has around 16 fucking seasons, and that shit is completely trash. Complete waste to cancel such a good show..
