Here’s What Christians DON’T Realize About Dinosaurs

Dinosaurs are seen as an icon of evolution and millions of years. In fact, they are used to promote millions of years to children even at very early ages, as evidenced from the many children’s books on dinosaurs. Bodie will focus on answering some common questions about dinosaurs and teaching Christians to look at dinosaurs from a biblical perspective, instead of borrowing from the non-Christian view of dinosaurs.
Bodie Hodge is a speaker, author, and researcher for Answers in Genesis. He has a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

    *I recommend folks look up the Oroville dam failure. It happened just a few years ago in Northern California, there's no better proof of how amazingly fast stone and earth can erode to a dramatically advanced extent! The water only flowed for a few days and had we not seen it in real time, geologists would have claimed it took thousands of years to erode to that point.*

    Look up the law of thermodynamics, that proves that the sun burning is a finite amount of time and I know it won't be burning millions of years, never mind billions of years that is fact. So you prove that the sun will just burn forever with no replenishment of the fuel it burns.

    @@donaldhall2576 Had the water continued that pace for, say 40 days and nights for example, the erosion and subsequent aftermath would have resembled sections of the Grand Canyon, and again if stumbled upon, without pretext then geologists would automatically deem it to be a millions of years long process because geology has no choice but to omit the single greatest factor in erosion, weather. Without a thoroughly accurate, day by day record of rainfall and wind etc. then calculating the age of exposed geological features becomes IMPOSSIBLE.

    Only One Hope, I was an atheist too until I was 30 - on my wedding night - many moons ago. Nuts, huh? That didn't stop me from fully understanding HOW the Bible was written as well as continuing to believe in BOTH creationism AND evolution simultaneously because of just how the Bible was written. That's important. As a scientist, you should first take it down to "the bare metal", as I say sometimes. Understand HOW it is written before you get into WHAT is written. When you do that, then things change - for the better. Trust me. My strong guess is that you've been a Christian for about 5 years. Just guessing. If so, then you are at the stage where you are a bit of a "zealot" - almost cultish in your belief system. I don't mean to be insulting however, I am merely pointing out a progression of belief that is common among brand new Christians. Now is the perfect time to understand how the Bible is written since you are a Christian who uses the Bible in your daily life - hopefully. The Bible isn't just a book. It is LOADED with things, ideas, even tiny, almost magical, well-known puzzles that you could take advantage of to round out your Christian life. Jesus had told the disciples “I have bread you know not of”. Try to believe that what you learn from standard, mainstream Biblical teachings won't be enough. You MUST have quite a bit more scholarship than just taking someone's word for things. You're young. TAKE ADVANTAGE of your youth with the time you have.

Look around, you see only two things, those items that we might call nature are God's creation, DNA to the universe. Or those things engineers designed and made, all the infrastructure and tools designed and made to make everything "man-made." Even art, music, etc. The exception is man made items can be either good or evil. God's creation was good until the fall. American museums, there are many big rocks with dragon/dinosaurs painted on them -- with men also in the same rock paintings. Some rock paintings show men riding on the dragons/dinosaurs. Many dinosaurs have been found with dried blood still in the veins -- in tack, which is totally impossible if the dinosaurs lived at the latest -- millions of year ago. QED.

    Thanks for supporting the Biblical beginning of the earth and all that our Heavenly Father created . As Christians , we need this foundation of history because it helps us see how man has related to our Creator and how He related to man from the beginning of time to the days of Jesus ,the Apostles and the early Church. Jesus told us to "build on the rock and not on sand". He may not have been referring to Creation when He made that statement, but it's still good advice for building our foundation of faith. If we can't believe in the Biblical creation, how do we put our faith in any part of Word of God ? I choose to believe in the Bible as truth, as do many Christian scientist and archeologist and build my faith on the creation of all there is by my Heavenly Father, and the life, death and resurrection of my savior and Lord Jesus the Christ, God's Son.

    Before we ask whether dinosaurs were part of creation, shouldn’t we be sure that the skeletons being pieced together the way that they are actually depict the creatures the way that they were? This would help us to then distinguish between dinosaurs and nephalim instead of having to choose between them. So long as archaeological activities are secretive, we will not be able to answer these questions. I tend to believe that dinosaur fossils are elaborated upon and embellished to form the Smithsonian-style replicas, since the fossils are incomplete skeletons. And I also believe that bones of nephalim have likely been found and then the information repressed, because it would point to a Biblical world view.

    The ( NEPHALIM ) were shaped as humans. Just much larger. Some maybe 35 feet tall. They were half human and half fallen angel. They had six fingers and six toes. Plus two rows of teeth. Similar to the Kandahar Giant discovered by the U.S Army rangers. They shot it in the head. It was taken to some undisclosed location. Maybe some government private U.S. military organization wants to extract the DNA. To make a race of giant super soldiers ? This Kandahar , Afganistan Giant is on You Tube. So dinosaurs are much different in the bone structures. When we read and study the book of Job. It speaks of ( LIVIATHAN ) and ( BEHEMOTH ) . This does not sound like any normal animal we see now days. They sound like giant dinosaurs during the time of Job. That walked around freely. We have not been to all remote forests or jungles. Yet in certain forests people go missing with out a trace. Maybe these dinosaurs are eating humans. Plus they may know how to hide ? What about strange wild beats sounds in forests ? Is this Big Foot or is it dinosaurs ?

    Reptiles having long life spans is a blanket statement that isn't that accurate. Many species of Tortoises live very long, but those obviously aren't dinosaurs. Some crocodilians can live about as long as humans, but those also aren't dinosaurs. Lizards and snakes don't live nearly as long as humans. And of course, lots of dinosaurs weren't giants. Many species were smaller than humans, so there's no indication that they lived for extremely long periods of time in order to get so large. The largest mammals on earth live only about 40 years so size is not indicative of how long a species live.

    I have to disagree on Glennrose, Texas… and not just because I’ve been there as well and seen the same tracks you say were made by a theropod. I have to disagree because of the tracks following the theropod tracks and stepping into them that not only retain five toes and a discernible ball and arch, but because several of the tracks were removed and sent off to be “proven to be fake” by having the rock sectioned across the toes, ball, arch, and heel and expecting to find no rippling / motion in the rock… but instead, not only did it show the pressure rippling was locally under each of the toes, meaning five separate toes had made the five toe marks with the mud reacting and pressure pushing it between them as the weight of the person pushed down and ball rotated to push off when it was mud and not someone long afterwards carving the rock in the modern day, but also showed the mud had been pressured in the exact and unique way that ONLY humans walk because we have that ball and arch… in other words: the tracks were laid down by a human being. Not only that, the tracks have been identified as being specifically to a human male with a specific stride, of which stride patterns are as unique to people as a thumb print and is beyond what even a pediatrician could hope to fake, a second trackway authenticated as being from a female human since women walk differently than men and again, a locomotion stride was established which again showed it was an individual and the tracks were also sectioned and had the layers examined in the late 80s and again in the 90s, both times authenticating that they were both real and really HUMAN in origin. And lastly, a third set which also again were sectioned across all five toes, arch, ball, and heel and found that yet again were real, but also indicated three more things: an adolescent, a male, and a limp caused by walking with an injury. All verified forensically, sectioned repeatedly because no one wanted to believe the results, and all real. Three people followed a large theropod, sometimes stepping directly into the tracks, as the theropod itself followed a sauropod and even slipped several times in the mud to the point its claws hit the mud and its tail even struck the mud while trying to regain its footing. The adult male human was around 7 feet tall, the adult female was around 6’, and the adolescent male was around 6’ 6” based on their strides, and the adult male had a foot that would be about a size 14 or 15 shoe. He was very large, which in a world designed originally to be perfect makes sense that the optimal genetic expression would occur, but even today we have people getting to be that size and wearing shoes that big. I’ve seen the very trackways you’re trying to say are a theropod, and I’m sorry: you’re wrong. I know the tracks you are talking about that are theropod in origin and indeed spread open as it erodes as you say, but those tracks still retain a direct line from toe to the heel, even when pivoting. Those stand out and have not been mistaken for human. You can see where a theropod came to a stop so suddenly it dug the toes into the ground making three circular holes. It’s the tracks that are of human stride, have an arch, a ball, and follow to the inside that are not only human, but yet again also show a uniquely human trait: the man followed directly, the woman followed to the side and behind, and the injured adolescent male cut the curves-exactly what you would expect to see humans doing when following what they know is a dangerous predator while in communication with each other, the man leading and staying between the woman and injured kid with them and the predator, to either defend them or try to lead the predator away in case it turned around. These a trademarks of humans. Again, the very rock itself shows the way the mud was pressured and depressed by the object that made the track, and once again: the way humans walk is absolutely unique, and nothing else replicates that or can be mistaken for it. We step down on the heel, the weight shifts to the outside as the ball then rotates the motion to the inside, then the foot catapults off the large toe. Nothing else has this motion, especially dinosaurs, and the very rock itself records the pressure of this motion being distributed out the point of the five toes themselves. I’m sorry, but the tracks are real. The pressure recorded in the rock itself literally declares the tracks authentically human in origin as blatantly as finding thorns and thistles in Devonian rock declares fossils occurred after the Fall, specifically in the Flood. I would be quite happy to look up the source of the track authentication if asked to provide it, though I suspect it would be just as easy, if not easier due to having more resources, for you to do the same. There are real human tracks with dinosaur tracks (and several large cat tracks also authenticated by stratum compression as well of “saber tooth tiger” size) in Glennrose, Texas according to the evidence-unless you decide to “not let the evidence get in the way” of what you want to believe.

    Dragons aren't at liberty to disclose the locations at which they may or may not be lurking. >>;=) Dinosaur Valley State Park in Glen Rose is neat (S of Ft Worth for anybody interested that may see this). Lot of allosaur tracks out there, and it's a pretty nice state park to visit and walk about in general. I await the day they find a dino which has been arrowed or speared or otherwise found with evidence of having been hunted with human tools or with part of the tool in it... although I feel like the secular universities/labs would keep those in the hidden away back rooms. We need more creationists leading research and discoveries, so that they can't so readily be hidden and swept under the rugs. It's been a miracle the soft tissue discoveries have been allowed to be public since the arguments of those tissues/cells lasting millions of years are non-existent (saying "I guess they can last that long" is nary an argument).

  • @zmanxx98

    What are you on about? There is no question or debate about whether organic tissue can last millions of years if trapped in certain conditions. If organic matter is trapped in an anerobic environment, then there is no oxygen for bacteria to utilize in the decomposition process, thus decomposition is suspended until oxygen is introduced. Whether it's wood, skin, plant matter, etc., they require microorganisms to be broken down; if microorganisms can't access the organic matter, then they can't break it down.

    @@zmanxx98 If you break open a rock that has iron ore in it or look at rebar in a busted up slab/piling, the iron has evidence of oxidation, such an oxidation there would have the same effects on any other materials, fossils, etc buried in rocks. There is absolutely no way for tissue or anything else to remain so perfectly preserved, especially for such lengths of time, and you may be surprised there is quite a lot of debate over such things in the scientific/academia worlds since we literally can't test the effects of many millennia in a lab. Rock is never a completely solid single piece, cracks form in rock all over the place from weather, temp changes, seismic activity, etc, which would allow moisture and microorganisms to seep into areas and cause a degredation. Given your statement, I gather you would not agree with what is the common held thought whereas rock layers are only slowly made over many 10000s of years, because rock then would be forming slowly mm by mm, and whatever animals would be exposed to the elements until finally covered, which by then, other animals or weather would have trashed any soft tissue in under a decade (as seen by possum skeletons found under the house). By that, I gather you are at least willing to consider a flood, volcanic or other event where animals would be buried in short order in order to encapsulate them in rock free of predation disturbance. If the Hoover Dam is ever tore down/rebuilt or needs a major repair for any reason, we shall see what the bodies of people that fell in during the building of it look like and how much of their tissue remains in a mere century or so time.

    @@ClementGreen The Bible, "ancient scrolls from a tract of land in the middle of a desert" survive because people want them to survive. It's the same reason the Quran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Norse Vedas and all manner of ancient texts still survive. The Buddhists have their texts, the Taoists have theirs and of course let's not forget those of the Mormons and (my favourite) the Scientologists. Who needs avenging angels when you have the intergalactic warlord Xenu? Okay, L. Ron Hubbard was a con-artist, a fabulist, a pathological liar, a malignant narcissist and a complete sociopath. Oh, and he wrote appallingly bad science fiction, reams of the stuff. Still, his fiction is at least as good as that in the Bible. As for the Pope (note the capital 'P', it is a proper title) receiving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, it was one head of State meeting with another head of State. That sort of thing has been going on far longer than Biblical texts have been extant. In case you weren't aware, Vatican City is an independent State and the head of the Catholic Church is it's head of State. The meeting was political. The Pope can pray for peace all he wants. How has that prayer worked out over history? 'Secular' usually means activities, attitudes (a worldview) that has no religious or spiritual basis. Science is a good example. Science is a method of examining the natural world in an attempt to understand the natural world. Religion, spirituality, the 'supernatural' (whatever that means) are not part of science. We have all kinds of evidence for the natural world and none for anything else. Yes, there are stories, anecdotes, unverifiable reports and an endless litany of, "God helped me find my car keys". The Bible is full of fallacies, makes many, many mistakes as far as history and science go, is of very dubious moral character, supporting slavery, killing the mentally ill (witches), advocates genocide and is horribly misogynistic. Did I mention the part where it advocates stoning to death of disobedient children? Yes, yes, the New Testament is considerably less abhorrent but what would you expect from a perfect and unchanging God? (Wait a minute....)

    Thats the thing about the Bible. When there is so many followers, those who dont agree with it usually stay silent because of extreemes. I was raised as christian but now im just following evidence and as far as i know the Bible was rewritten so many times that i just dont understand how people can still believe it to the letter as some scientists pointed out some wrong translation due to original language didnt had words for what it was translated to and what happens when you "translate" that several times? I came to like movie "Man from the Earth" as it challenges that extreeme point of view and explore different points of view. You can believe in anything you want but with the Bible i feel like to some extend its being forced upon others. There are so many legends of all sorts of creatures from all sorts of cultures and most of the time there is just no real evidence as back in the day if those legends are to be believed as only thing that is left is just a rumor. There are all sort of creatures out there and back then people didnt know as much and there was no internet to research stuff, people could just blow what they saw out of proportions to get attention as some people do today. For instance all people have to do is look for some of those reported huge snakes from Amazon and all it really was just big snake stretched after its dead to get attention from rest of the world. Of course i can always be wrong, im not a scientist and i dont know everything.

    While I'm still somewhere in the middle between Gap Creationism and Young Earth Creationism, what I do know for certain is that the Leviathan certainly wasn't a dinosaur. It is a stretch to make that claim. In the Bible the Leviathan is a giant sea monster with the body of a snake and multiple heads. It looks nothing like a Plesiosaurus. It is more similar to the mythological Midgard Serpent than a dinosaur.

    If he's correct why don't we find human bones next to dinosaurs?

  • @Bitterstone3849

    @Bitterstone3849

    Жыл бұрын

    Because he is not correct. I'm not at all discounting God or the bible. I am a Christian but there are many things that are not explained in the bible. Dinosaur's last existed 65 million yrs ago those that read the bible believe man was created 10 thousand yrs ago. Totally not true. Human bones have been found dated some close to 4 million yrs ago. But these hominids did not look like modern day man and these bone were not bones of monkeys and there has been enough human bones found to show the evolution of humans to what we are today. Today it is said the last survivors of dinosaurs are birds if that is true then this man should say man watched dinosaurs evolve into birds. So obviously there were no birds in the air at the time of noah. When I was in school in the early 60s it was believed the earths time was measured in millions of yrs. Now it is believed the earth is billions of yrs old. They also back then beleived T Rex walked upright. Now they know it didn't by construction of its bones. It walked bent over If as is believed a giant comet killed the dinosaurs it also killed most everything else at that time then man surely being weaker man would have died also. I beleive God just started over the in this new time period is when he created man. It took 7 days for God to create everything but how long is a day to God. We judge time and days to the earth revolving around the sun. I definitely don't beleive God judges a day in that manner. According to the bible the earth and man are only thousands of yrs old thats what those who read the bible believe. That is totally wrong. Again I believe there is much left out of the bible. Things that God did not explain to the men who wrote the bible. It's said mans hand print is all over the bible and as we know man makes mistakes. Whether on purpose or not The bible is just giving us a condensed story of how it all began and man is filling in the rest. That is where man is wrong and science CAN prove this worlds existence came about WAY longer ago than this man would have you believe. Did others say like the nephiliam or aliens come to earth thousands or millions of yrs ago and mess with mans DNA. That is also a possibility. God said all mankind has been corrupted. Again I am a Christian and I believe the bible but I also believe the bible does not give the complete picture either because mans hand print is on it or maybe God only relayed to the men who wrote it the information that God believed mankind needed to know. He gave us the information we need to live the way he wants. None of the other things matter. I also believe God for his reasons does not want man to know everything. Mans perception and his brain could not perceive it. All that truly matters is God exists , he loves you and his creation and through the death and belief in Christ and his forgiveness of sin can you only come to the Father. I don't know about you but I don't want too know everything but someday when I'm ready God will explain it all. Remember satan tempted Adam & Eve to eat from the tree of knowledge and God did not want them to have the knowledge of some things which would have been for their own good. And our own good also then. Everything will be revealed in time but not on this earth at this time.

  • @iansugerman2537

    @iansugerman2537

    Жыл бұрын

    Carbon dating doesn't work like that. Quick math will tell you (based on 1% abundance in living animals of carbon-14) that after 1 million years, the ratio of carbon-14 to carbon-12 in an animal tissue sample would be 1.04e-55. Please tell me there exists a machine with that level of precision. Keep in mind that the Planck length, the smallest distance at which quantum particles are distinguishable, is about 1.62e-35 meters, 20 orders of magnitude bigger than the ratio you're looking for to even approach time scales you're talking about. To get a large enough sample to even measure the amount of carbon-14 in an object after 1 million years with physical instruments, you'd need to sample an object larger than the milky way galaxy.
