What do you mean? People forget what p2w really means. That you can buy items only with real money and that is not the case in Lost Ark or T&L. Besides some people need to play the game, because to buy gold in Lost Ark, someone must sell his gold. So if nobody plays the game, nobody can cash to pay to progress himself.

You need people that play the game in Lost Ark and Throne and Liberty, because someone has to put the gear in the AH. If someone pays 5000 $ just to be a little faster or do 0.002% more dmg, i let them, because they pay the server cost for me. Throne and Liberty is a PvP Group/Zerg Game. Gear dosent matter if you are 200 People more than your opponent.

Dissolving a piece of equipment only gives you a small amount of one of the upgrade stone materials, which is a very easy powder to obtain by making contracts and is obtained in large quantities, breaking items to obtain an item that is not difficult to obtain is a nonsense

I think that any time a game gives you the option to pay real life currency to progress your character meaningfully (i.e. gear, leveling boosts, upgrade materials, etc), that is a pay to win system by definition. The question then becomes, to what degree is something pay to win? The latter, I think, is the more important question to be having since the former is already answered.

Can you extract traits from an item you wish to transfer to a new weapon/gear? Doesn’t it make sense?

Are there items that reduce Sollent costs when upgrading, which cost Lucent? If that is the case.. it's extremely P2W

Question is how long will that bottleneck hold. Don't think any game had issues during start when everyone is a fresh max lvl. It's about how the game evolves later and if you can pay to catch up with day 1 players that is the potential issue.

its a mmo so if you want to keep up with the rest you gotta be a degen, but to answer your question they are every 1-2hours and world dungeons you can do trough out the day.

The death penalty reminds me of good old Maplestory.

Players who have huge egos in PvP and just don’t know when to take the L and move on are going to be in pain

I had some hope but after watching this video the P2W is going to impact this game so hard i didn't think it would be this bad rip; early people won't notice but as the game progresses it will snowball. Just the fact that pvp deaths effect you will be a death blow and since the game is so based on guilds many will drop this game quickly.

Its so funny seeing the hypocrisy when it comes to p2w. A lot of people justify it in the game they are playing while bashing other games for it, and are to dense to realize it.

Mm but you cant just buy as any other mmo the silver in an external Page? Is the silver tradeable?

no one is struggling for sollant? You get 100-140k per hour in the level TWENTY open dungeon. Level 45 dungeon gives you 80k per run... By the time you finish the story quest and some leveling guide quests your well above 1mil sollant while still in green gear and some blues from the quest.. to transfer a +9 blue armor piece to a purple piece of gear it cost 300k. to transfer a weapon its about 900k. Youll have that money before you even have the purple gear unless ofcourse you die alot cause regaining ur exp back for like 20-30k each lol. Deaths in dungeons dont count towards this. I'm currently full Blue gear at +8/+9 and 3 purple pieces @ +6 with full epic skills. But with that being said I did spend 20 usd for the leveling guide pass that rewards you with extra mats per level.

lucent is tradable to player if u have?

I like what I see. I think it suck that we can't avoid pay to win but at least what we have currently is somewhat acceptable. But we won't know the answer until the game is release.

In pvp you will die more than 25 times for sure. And if each time you do less damage. Means just get into PVP at the end when the rest of players have the debuff

u had a limit of 20 deaths and then u get the penalty that stays until u go to the npc and removes some deaths

I'm quite sure I'm looking at some timestamp on the death menu, with timers like "9 days" and so on. I believe the penalty will be removed with time if the player doesn't have the currency to remove it right away (meaning, I believe it's not actually permanent).

Can you earn lousent by crafting? And how much bots and gold sellers are active now?

The death penalty thing sounds interesting to me. I wonder if they will have something like "Life Insurance" , like ragnarok online. Where you If the character dies within the 30 minutes duration, no loss of EXP will be made. So far I'm really hype to play this game once it's released in the west, I don't really mind anything else so far that you've mentioned. I'm sure AGS may change somethings on our version.

the death penalty shouldn't even be a thing, there isn't even a death penalty in lost ark. This literally makes it so people only go ranged characters so they can just run away with more ease when more mobs aggro on them

In WoW you pay 15 bucks a month plus any expantion thats 50 bucks and on top of that you can buy tokens with 20 bucks to get tons of gold, and with that gold buy boosts. People are ok with WoW... why is people overreacting over this game being p2w? Because its korean? Thats kinda racist

You can obtain it by selling materials for gear upgrades. Or by selling the gear you win from dungeons when you hit level 30.

Free to play what's the average length of the game life? Usually the die after a while when the hype goes down

BDO is screwed when this launches in the west, most of their revenue comes from NA. If TL is less p2w, it's over.

Compared to Lost Ark with similar monetization, I'm glad to see that F2P isn't complete garbage and that upgrading is somewhat bottlenecked by your grinding.

I hope more games will have the pay-to-win system like BDO, which demoralizes players for doing it. You can swipe how many times you want and still have to wait for WEEKS to get a piece of BiS gear. Literally pay-to-lose 😂

Domt agree with the take on gear p2w gear progression not being a big deal as the hardest part is getting the drop. Solents are easy enough to farm and can do contracts for the other mats. Also another huge P2W is alot of your progression comes from skill upgrades. You can straight buy the harder mat to obtain of the two with real money. The game will fail massively if it releases in NA as it stands. He states its just like lost ark but in lost ark you atleast have equal arenas. Try doing events in TL with all the whales when more then half the events are forced pvp and also lose xp when you die. To regain said xp before the debuff you have to spend ridiculous in game currency.

Every event have also Peace time. P2w is nothing here right now. I was 50 in 8 days with main story payed nothing and got great gear. Contracts are here the thing + selling at the auction.

6:40 let me explain that to you, the more "efficient" ways you find to farm sollant the bigger the gap will become between f2p and p2w.

You can upgrade your itens buy equipament from market, dissolve to get precious magic poweder them you buy precious Rubrix from market and craft Precious weapon growhstone, to get Sollant its simples too, go to market buy Precious marind and sell for 300k sollant to NPC...

People are willing for "pay to win" they should just make it a subscription base. Pretty sure there are a lot of people going to play this.

Seems quite early to talk about it. The economy is still building, Dev's haven't decided how to go with it yet etc. Doesn't seem too bad so far though.

Game barely came out my guy. And the NA market might be different. I played Aion Online (NC soft) for what, 8 years. P2W significantly changed for the worse over the years. PLENTY of time for the shop to change...plenty and it WILL change likely for the worse. It's a KRMMO, P2W is 100% expected. It's part of life. I'm still keen on trying this out regardless.

I completely agree, if you are gona keep players safer preventing open world pvp and even the karma system (or PK/Skull systems), a costly death at least will keep PVE more interesting. People who die in PVP should be completely aware they are risking money for the rewards.

The fact that even whales have to farm and work their ass up is a nice and healthy sign for a game I mean yeah you can buy the gear you want so what? it's not upgraded and they don't sell upgrade mats I don't even think being able to buy the gear piece you want is pay to win, at most is a pay to fast cuz you still need to farm that shit

there is no such utopy of totally free-to-play game without any kind of PTG. The model in this game is closer to black desert than anything else... you can buy but if you want pay to WIN, youll have to pay a lot ! this keeps things in a more reallistic set up for people to invest in the game without breaking the balance unless you are loaded and at the end this will be beneficial for free players because they will be paying to keep the game alive for them.

its fair pay to win, but the moment they put sollant on the market then this game will have become another pay to win garb. i hope they keep it like this and not ruin it and make it an unbalanced mess, cuz this is very fair for a monetization plan both for free to play and pay to win

So they will have the wanted gear but at the lowest level possible. Where while im farming same piece im still equal because im farming and getting growth pieces and attritube gems. You can’t gear up buying at ah in wow. Don’t mislead people. 1-2 pieces of m raid level for each armour type at most might be available as boe.

its pay to win, a level one can buy those base high end gear and equip them and it has high stats, similar to lvl 5 blue gear, then you will be like level 40 character with high stats and damage as level 1, then farm contract and upgrade the resources and then you can upgrade those high end gear, but what you need it a group to do it faster as solo will take time

Just remember this is Korean version. We have to see how it rolls out in the west.

You don't have to buy any of the expansions and can still get max lvl and gear, just miss out on extra elite specs and maps for pve stuff. You can do all pvp stuff.

It's defiantly pay to win. U cna buy lucent and go buy lucent cheap cuz its cheap Korean money and 300000 isn't hard to get...I had 300000 st lvl 15

Well I liked that video. And I do like that gear stating method. I think what it comes down to, of your thoughts, is how it will look like "past that". I am gonna make a guess that will result in roughly "Two Options" of what could happen. The way I see it. At End Game "stage one" (And here is the first "big if", which states Will Pay Of course the rest of this comment won`t be honest if I don`t "mention" or state even... that Yes... Because of the "Cross Over" of in game currency and paid with IRL money currency... there will be a lot of "Mixed Bag" Cases where players based on "Player skills and Abilities", but not in game ones, kind of and of course will be able to juice and accumulate and use enough paid currency "for free" to stay right up there with those that support themselves of their wallet capabilities. And of course the opposite is true. If you just dump money without knowing what you are doing with them, the chances are you won`t properly prosper solely of that either. If the game "allows" and ~promotes the second state... well than it is quite the Pay to Win one. Just one final "add on"... if the game remains in the first state of "it allows" and maintains "finalized" gear pretty soon... Well than I don`t think the tab target guild combats gameplay will be enough to make it last... Gear and Power progressions are very important "feeling" within a mmorpg for it`s players. It just have to be well done ~and somewhat "fare" (when monetization is involved).

So its basically a Lost Ark 1.0 where the only limiting factor is acrasium (daily/weekly gated) and every1 hated that system because if you missed some daily events you were always behind.

So glad i didn't even try it
