I been buying the Auxito led lights and installed them on both of my vehicles and none of them burnt out yet. And it's been over 2 years now. Interior and exterior. Amazon and AliExpress has them.

Hey Jimmy, first of all I want to thank you for your time, effort and sharing this information with us. Have you tried to diagnose and repair any of the failed LEDs? I'm not talking about the obvious burned out ones but the ones that flicker, maybe just a bad solder joint or broken wire? Here's an idea, since you probably have quite a few of the cheaper ones as well as probably the mid priced ones what if you were to connect them to a 12-volt power source such as an old computer power supply and let them run for a week which would be over 10,000 miles at 65mph. Or just leave them connected until they burn out and see how long they last. I may do it myself, if I do I'll comment here. I have plenty of power supplies (computer technician) but not a variety of LEDs. Just curious. Thanks again for sharing.

Thankfully I always had that mindset and bought some expensive ones the first time and have had great luck with lights!

Your channel is a great source of knowledge. Here in Europe, brands like sylvania are not very popular but we have osram, philips and other more expenisive but good quality bulbs. Ive been using one set of osram w5w led bulbs as front position lights for about 8 years now. No issues at all. Still work just as fine as new ones. Best regards.

For my OBS, I went the expensive route from the get go, but i did a bit of research beforehand on the expensive options, i picked up sylvana bulbs all around but with more diodes, and the single map light bulbs for the doors, so far, almost two years in, im pleased with the abuse and how long they have lasted, i have cheap ones by my feet only because they are easy to replace but other than that, they have done wonders and without issue, for the center bulbs i wanted more direct light from the diode and decided to sand open the plastic, since the light cover is meant to disperse light already, and it seems to be a good happy medium for me. to this day, the same Auxbeam headlights you have are kicking shadows to the curb, and those where a good price, a little on the high side but after taking performance into consideration I'm happy

I got GZTC LED for 569 style (4 for $8) in my 2006 Silverado, works great, nice and bright (600 lumens), and works well with the dimming after door is closed with no flickering. Been in there for a year now with no problems.

I agree with you . Same concern I heard from many other electricians too. But my point is how often do we use dome or map light ? These lights are not like car head lights that we use everyday few hours. Average drivers use may be 5-10 minutes per day or may be less. With that limited use I don't think led can get heated that fast.

Jimmy, I have to disagree why the LEDs fail. It’s not because of heat. These lights don’t get near as hot as the old incandescent ones. You can put your finger to the surface of the Map LEDs and not feel anything.

Valid point, especially with heat, but imho, with the cheap ones of quantity/heat of led is the issue, begs the question if you remove a few leds off the cheap ones if they'll last longer (got the electrical know how to do so) also, most leds aren't too great with dimming, so that may also be a small part of your issue. But i usually stick to mid-high value for bulbs myself as well.

Haha I wish I had seen this video 2 years ago. I went through a similar experience buying the ebay 14 dollar led set. The license plate lights gave out one by one switching to strobe mode after being a giant pita to install for my particular car. I arrived at the same conclusion you did and switched to the sylvania ones despite the cost and never regretted it. My intermittent cheap ones though in the rest of the car have been going strong. I believe your particular front housing with 3 lights and packed cheapy leds is what did yours in so quickly

I've bought probably 5 sets of cheap leds of Amazon and they all burn out at about the time. I buy the like $20 set of lights for the whole truck when one burns out or starts to flicker because I knew all the rest of the bulbs were about to start acting up. I've been changing everything over to sylvania aswell recently took about $250-$275 for every light minus resistors that also includes cheap "I know it's like I haven't learnd" Amazon led high beam, low beam, and fog lights. Also made sure the keep the recipe's for the bulbs from the parts house because they come with a lifetime warranty if you have proof of purchase.

The zevo leds are too dim in my 2011 kia forte. I just used regular sylvania leds (not the zevo ones) and it was super bright and I was able to see.

I got lucky, I bought a set of led bulbs for my entire 04 tahoe for like 6 or 7 dollars when I first bought it 3 years ago. They all still work, and are plenty bright for me. and they are designed the same way as the ones you replaced here. As far as I can tell, you can still get a very good product in most things for cheap, if you know where to look and do enough research. but sometimes it just boils down to luck.
