Here's how much your vacation this summer will cost
Compared to Memorial Day 2023, the overall cost of travel is down slightly. Hotel prices inched down, airfare descended by nearly 6% and rental cars costs slowed by 10%. However, vacationing in 2024 still costs you 15% more than before the pandemic.

I believe it's been about 10+ years since I've taken a proper vacation. I envy those that take one every, single, year.

In Utah people take vacation 5 times a year. How? Credit. Can’t wait for the burst to come….
I am contemplating whether I will go somewhere this summer. Normally I would have my flight and accommodation booked by now. I would of course stay at a hostel and cook my own food just to cut cost. But its looking really iffy this year.
When I do my trips, I plan them in advance. The sooner an opportunity opens, the better the chances for low prices.
I have no kids, so i can take a vacation every few months with my wonderful SO...if i did have kids i would probably spend all my money on them and nothing on myself...perks of being parent free
Glad I don’t have to worry about “family of four” when making travel plans. Just me and my partner. Living our best DINK life 😂😂😂😂

@@trentpettit6336 oh yeah for sure!! Who hasn’t when you were single and traveling?!?!? One of my all time favorite was being in Toronto during Gay Pride which also happened to be Canada Day too! Sooo much fun!

Everything is expensive……and nothing gets done movies, restaurants,gas,rent,insurance etc…except for the rich….
Too damn much. Staying home ALL SUMMER. I’ll fix that inflation and price gouging on my own.
There's going to be an explosion in "staycations" because nobody can afford to travel given the increasing cost of necessities like food, utilities and motor fuel.

Funny how people are complaining that they can’t afford rent, can’t afford food and can’t afford the essentials but have no problem with paying for an expensive vacation. That’s USA for you.
I dont leave my house and collect magic cards. Traveling for vacation proves we live in a hell. You dont vacation from a paradise change my mind
here’s to all the people who can’t afford to go to Disney or Hawaii and staycation locally and to those who CAN afford it, but are smart enough to not drink the coolaid cuz we are in a recession…BidenNomics.
