I still don't understand why Kelly has to pay him spousal support. He needs to get off his bum and go back to work. If he wants to ranch, there's things like loans or investors!!!! And why child support? He can work. Just like Kelly, the only problem being now...he's burned America's sweetheart and nobody is gonna hire the dirt bag. I'm so proud of you Kelly. To often women look around and say to themselves I'll probably never find anybody else to love me. She unfortunately has to pay him child support because, the children a custom to a certain life style. The kids a used to nannies, maids, chefs, private school, not having to we wait in line when they go somewhere, expensive clothes and shoes, etc. So it is to make sure they maintain the lifestyle with both parents. The spousal support is temporary, so hopefully she will at least not have to pay Hime for that when their divorce is final on January 7, 2022.

I doubt you would be equally offended and disgusted if it were the other way around. Yeah the guy sounds like a scumbag but that is because it looks like he may have stole her money and cheated on her. Not because he is asking for something that woman get everyday without being judged. We say we want equality as woman but really, most of us want to pick and choose when we want to be equal and that's not how it works. And that is my opinion as a woman.

She was smart to get a prenuptial agreement even though he probably had money at the time they were married. Unless of course he blew it all on her engagement 💍 ring. He thought he would walk away with millions and he's not going to. I just don't believe you need $150,000.00 or whatever amount it was to take care if your biological offspring per month. I would feel the same way if the tables were turned.

Her friends said she noticed big part of her money was disappearing all the time. No one will ever trust him. I mean he stole from his own wife. He had stolen millions from her already. He didn't become a rancher by choice. It's just all the singers blocked him.

Apple didn’t fall from the tree. His daddy cheated on Reba, he cheated on Kelly. If they were women we’d be calling them what they are…Golddiggers. Brandon looks like a guy who would go for the money…..can’t put my finger on it. It’s ridiculous she has to pay him basically Alimony. I thought she has primary custody though, so I don't understand why she's paying child support. I also don't understand why he feels entitled to half of her earnings, when they both signed prenups. They BOTH agreed that they wouldn't split their earnings, so too bad guy.

So, let me get this straight. Women can do this to men all the time, to a far worse degree, with almost 100% of the divorces going in favor of the woman, but you call him lazy? OK, fair, he is. So what would you call the insane number of women who do this to men? Lazy? Because that would mean that a whole lot more women are lazy than men are. Secondly, why does she deserve primary custody of the kids? They still need to see their father, that's how kids develop. Whatever they have between them, shouldn't involve kids.

@@noremac0575 Other than in Hollywood, your depiction of how divorce works is not accurate. My ex-husband earned significantly > me in 1993. I helped put him through 5 years of grad school. I received no spousal support. That's what usually happens. Brandon needs to either make the ranch pay for itself or he & his daddy need to get jobs!

Spousal support is ridiculous. I'd understand if one of the spouses had put their career on hold to be the stay at home partner but he continued to work so he can pay for himself

Kelly is a very big hearted talented woman as is Reba, who I love. It would appear that both ladies hooked up with a father & son who don’t seem to love their wives as much as they love themselves. The moment I heard that Kelly married her exhusbad I felt that she made a mistake. I got a bad feeling about the union. I am sorry that I was so right. This guy is a user and abuser. I feel terrible that Kelly became his victim. What a scheme. I hope she finds lawyers who find a way to cut off his spousal support and not get legal fees. Why does Kelly have to pay child support to Brandon? She has primary custody of their children. He should be the one paying child support.

Everyone keeps asking why he was awarded spousal support when he obviously can work for himself and didn't give up a career like a stay at home wife scenario, which is a fair point. However, the point of alimony is to maintain the lifestyle of the person that makes the lesser wage of the two people, in this case, he made less money than Kelly, therefore she has to pay him spousal support to maintain the lifestyle he had grown accustomed to while they were married. It would be no different if the roles were reversed. Some child support is still awarded to the non-custodial parent for when the children are with them, again to be able to maintain the same lifestyle they are accustomed to (it wouldn't be fair if the non-custodial parent couldn't afford to take them on nice vacations as their custodial parents as an example if that is what they are accustomed to). Spousal support continues unless the court order has an end date (it's temporary) otherwise it generally continues until the person receiving gets re-married or dies (varies by state). The amount doesn't change regardless if the person paying source of income increases, however if their income decreases and they can no longer afford to pay, they can petition the court to get the amount reduced. Divorce sucks, wishing Kelly and her children all the best. It seems her ex and his father are some piece of work and have been using Kelly's career to finance themselves. Smh

Kelly Clarkson is so incredibly talented! Divorce is never an easy road. I just think it's terrible when a man who can make his own living fights for spousal support when he's already getting a fortune in child support. It shows a lot about his lack of character! Sad. Kelly Clarkson deserves better.

I will never understand spousal support while both partners work and produce their own money. Like, why should one spouse expoit their ex because they make more money than them? It doesn't make sense to me. I totally understand when someone stays home to watch the kids. The stay at home parent gave up their career and will not be able to make the same kind of money they did prior to having children. I FULLY support those situations plus child support, of course. But this is different. A woman I know was with her husband for 2 years, dating for 8 years. She was pissed when the judge gave her no spousal support. They had no kids and were both working adults. It's just funny to me how people are like "well my ex makes more than me. I deserve their money, even after we seperate." 😒😒 They want the financial benefits of being married to that person while sleeping with someone else.

I’m glad she won at the end but sad she has to pay him alimony and why is she having to pay child support if they have joint custody and she has legal custody of the kids. Doesn’t that mean he should be paying her ? Or maybe no child support at all. I’m sorry but that’s not a man and neither is his father. Sounds like they tried to screw her of her money. Kelly your beautiful and deserve so much better.
