*25 to 26 years ago, I got a call from a friend who owned a Baltimore body shop, he insisted that I be at his shop right away for an emergency fiberglass repair but wouldn't tell me what the job was, I was thinking, maybe he wrecked his Corvette and didn't want his wife to know or ???? Imagine my surprise to see "The Wienermobile" sitting there waiting for me!* Somebody had run into the Wienermobile during the night or It had a fender bender while backing out of a hotel parking lot?, I didn't want to ask the driver as it was really none of my business! I had to make a quickie fiberglass patch panel using the opposite side of the body as my mold, then graft the new patch into the damaged area of the fiberglass body! ..... It must have been the original Wienermobile or one of the first series of Wienermobiles, it wasn't as sleek looking as this one. ... The head & tail lites were different, the body shape was more curvy, the color was different, it didn't have as many windows and the Hot Dog was bigger with much more curve to it! In any case, It took about 7 hours to fix the fiberglass damage and weld in a new mount, when I was finished, the body shop painted the repair and matched the paint perfectly. The driver loaded us in the Wiener and treated us to Rustler Steakhouse for an all we could eat dinner! An interesting day for sure.

Okay, but what was the paint process like? Just a blend or did they have to spray a huge section of the body, cause there doesn’t seem to be that many body lines or breaks where you could spray it without having to burn in clear. Either way, that is a crazy story hahah I can only imagine getting to work on it

I recall driving with my parents on I80 across eastern Nevada back in the early 70s and a Wienermobile appeared heading the opposite direction. It was such a surprise, so incredibly colorful and strange looking yet somehow official. Unforgettable. Best advertising ever! :-)
Seeing this made my day. When I was young and my parents and I were on vacation and staying in a motor lodge, a "hot dogger" was staying in the room next door. And he took my dad and I on a tour of the mobile and took us on a little drive around the parking lot. I've had a fondness for the wiener mobile all my life.
No one asked for this. Yet in our hearts, we needed this.
The sexual tension between the Hot Doggers is massive. I would imagine it gets awkward driving around in a massive phallic van.

Years ago, we were working a vegetation fire in Orange County, CA. My fire crew was taken off the line for a spell, we were directed to wait alongside the freeway, waiting for a support truck with food for my boys. After a few minutes, what do we see? The Wienermobile! We waved as it approached. Yes, they pulled over to say hello! Funny timing. Food was on the way...but I'll never forget meeting you guys with the Wienermobile. Later, cleaning up at our firehouse, you can guess what my crew decided on for the crew BBQ. Plenty of Oscar Meyer's. Good times.

I spent 8 years trucking and twice I had conversations with girls riding in the Weiner Mobil, both times in Illinois. I remember one of them telling me it’s a one year program and almost always college students doing it to earn tuition money for the following year. So cool!! Saw one a couple times but never got that kinda tour. Also, Oscar Meyer should be SUPER proud to have ambassadors like that. Such great people!
That is so cool that they are still running the wiener mobile around the country. I remember when going on road trips when I was growing up that it seemed like we would always see it at some point along our journey. I had no idea they have so many of them and that they are constantly on the road, I guess that is why it seemed like we always ended up spotting it and I never thought about that till now.

Seems like they really do drive around doing lots of dogging

I was sitting at the red light waiting to jump on the the I-465 westbound on-ramp, and there was the Weinermobile cruising through the Pilot truck stop parking lot. You just never know when. Usually I just see it cruising up and down the interstate. You can’t miss it, that’s for sure!
We seen the weiner mobile once drive by as kids. We where very excited to see it. Crazy thing is that's the brand my mother always bought. And i have some angus dogs in the freezer now
Wait a second, is the back where the hot dogs lay in the buns? Is the back where the hot dog and buns get the get juicy condoments? Hot dog water tank in the back? ...all i got.
5:45 “lets shart it up”
When I was a kid...I'm 67 now...the Oscar Myer car came through our town...we were so excited...they handed out whistles and toys...I saved mine..it was so cool...
Met Alex and his crew a few weeks ago when they were in my college town. So cool to see them in your video and loved the video!
Wow, hot dog girl!!!🥰😍
Living in Madison, Wisconsin I'm very used to seeing the wienermobile. It's strange to think people would get out of their cars in traffic just to take a picture

Super cool! I love all the puns!
SO cool. I have seen it once in my life and you never expect it.
Anyone else disappointed there wasnt an actual hot dog grilling machine in there?
I can’t imagine what vegan protesters would do to this thing if it was driving down the street
