- Sun, is that you?!
In parts of this video, I talked about the importance of doing a proper brake service, the importance of servicing your vehicle, and the importance of using quality parts.
We started off by replacing the front brake pads of a Toyota Yaris using a genuine Toyota Part to preserve our customer’s maintenance agreement with Toyota. Knowing how cheap I got the part; I am really starting to sway in to using genuine service parts for my customers. Next up is the valvematic replacement on a Toyota Auris. Thankfully went well and back on the road.
Lastly is a Full Service on a Alfa Romeo Mito. This includes replacement of Oil, Oil Filter, Air Filter, Cabin Filter and Spark plugs. We also do full vehicle inspection to ensure that the vehicle is safe for the road.

    What sh1t is this. many cars have never been serviced and seem to last a lifetime. I change my oil and filter every 50,000 miles and the car is now on 142,000.

    Let’s see how long it is last once you go above 200.000km.+ if you change the filter every 50.000miles. I bet it won’t last 300.000km. Changing every 50.000 miles won’t give it longevity.

    Top tip for the caliper sliders: put the threads lightly into your drill chuck and hold some light scotch pad against it as you spin it. Clean in seconds and saves you catching your fingers with the wire wheel 😂 👍🏻

    Keep the awesome videos coming lads. On the 1.4 multiair engines it is also important to check (clean or replace) the multiair oil filter in the side of the head. If this clogs it can cause a world of pain.

    Genuine parts are ALWAYS far superior in quality in comparison to pattern parts, pattern parts are cheap substitutes, there's an old saying in the motor trade which you probably know....." BUY CHEAP, BUY TWICE" genuine parts also last far longer than pattern parts 😁

    Genuine is good for the dealer. Most of the parts are made by other reputable comapnies. I wonder if they sell trash with their name on it and produce the highest quality so the dealership can "repack" it and sell it as it's own with a huge profit... 🤣 I think even new parts are not made as they were before. Everything becomes "eco" friendly with is a compromise on the quality and they don't want you to run the car for another 10 or 20 years

  • @2728Alexis

    @2728Alexis

    It depends. The car manufacturer doesn't make everything in the car. A lot of "pattern" parts are exactly the same as the genuine. Febi Bilstein make loads of parts that go into VWs for example. The issue is finding "genuine" pattern parts...

The only thing to do now is flush the engine several times have all fluids flushed and changed at least once, and obviously new filters.
