Here is everything wrong with my 1992 Peugeot J5 Hobby 550 AK RV
Yea about everything broke during filming but started working right away on the way home
The Peugeot J5 is basically identical to the Fiat Ducato of the same years but much rarer in our area (which might make it cheaper to insure) overall its probably and hopefully a quite cheap entry into the world of RV, Motorhomes and campers.
We aim to get officially classic car status with it in 2022 which would reduce the running cost probably by half or more.
One or a couple of previous owners haven't treated this poor RV not quite good but the last owner was a master car mechanic and gave it a good technical overhaul but did not put any effort onto the inside.

To be honest i don't think the Peugeot J5/Citroen C25 van/campervan was ever sold in here in Britain. We got the Talbot Express and Fiat Ducato van/campervans. I still see them from time to time.

They are about the same, the J5 engine might have some French magic in it I would suspect the talbot being closer to it then the ducato but in the end they all rolled out of the same factory in Italy. (my dad had an talbot cabriolet in the early 90ties and the brand was already obscure and about unknown back then)
same as the fiat ducato i have here in italy, fiat ducati pilote r 580 ... entry level, first experience... so many problems ;)
A good tidy up wouldn't do any harm

So , is it worth buying. Some cheap ones here in Australia but the lack of power really puts me off 😬 Hard to get anywhere here without using a freeway

Do you got some steep mountains where you´re driving? If you´re mostly on flat terrain (which is our perception of Australia from here) it really does not matter - also if you stay around 80 km/h it actually has a good fuel economy (I drive around 8 l per 100 km when going for smaller streets and avoid local high ways) and going up and down hill is really not much fun if it gets too steep, also it does not really like rough terrain very much.

There is a German youtuber who used to drive the mostly identical fiat version around with a fitting trailer (although in the flat parts of Germany near the sea) studio Osterhenne

Der Fiat hat einen Fiat Motor. Der J5 und C25 haben Peugeot Motoren. Die Dichting am Immenraumfilterkasten ist immer so ausgeschnitten das normal das da ein Stück fehlt.🤷♂️ Scheibrahmen sind echt eine Krankheit solltest du schnellstens machen, machen lassen. Weil es 100% runter richtig gammelt!

In Germany at the moment you can get a RV ~ like this between 7000 and 9000 Euro.
