People really don't realise that the Cosmos of Buddhism is Outerverse level, there infinite dimensions with their own rules and time. It is FAR more complex and greater in scale than Greece's cosmos.

Sun Wukong is a literal definition of a broke character. This wasn't mentioned in the video, but Wukong has something called 72 transformation and assuming 72 different forms. For each of said transformations, he holds an extra life. So not only does he have layers of immortality, but also 72 more extra life. He basically unkillable.

Guys, Journey To The West begins with full biography of Sun Wukong! JTTW is escort mission, and just because Tripitaka is one being escorted doesn't mean Sun is irrelevant. Of everyone in jttw, sun has the biggest character arc.

From what I've been able to gather about Black Myth: Wukong we might not even be playing as the real Sun Wukong at all. Some characters and the old man suggest the Journey to the West already happened, another Sun Wukong in his Dragon Palace Armor stops the playable character from killing the giant wolf demon that's Wukong is supposed to in the stories. So it seems like this is gonna be a weird time travel story where everything has and hasn't happened yet at the same time and we might not even be playing as the original Sun Wukong

What if it's one of his clones? Cuz I also doubt another magic rock popped up, and the idea of playing as a Wukong that has already experienced his character development vs one that hasn't or the inverse is a fun thought.

@@julioc.3158 Well there was ANOTHER uber powerful monkey in the story and if you've ever watched Monkey Kid you've already heard of him. The Six Eared Macaque. The the original story he was basically just Sun Wukong if he was evil. Having all the same powers and abilities. So we're either playing as a way younger Wukong, a rogue clone, or Six-Eared Macaque.

@@Scream_Lord I mean, even from the original story we don't know much about him so this game using him as a bad guy does sound kinda perfect, be him a split evil clone or that he did actually come from another rock. Ps: I don't remember much from the book but do we ever actually find out why or how he got so many powers like Wukong except his layers of immorality before he died?

@@Scream_Lord Based on the trailers the story of the game may also be a reinterpretation of the original legend. The narrator's words make you suggest that the original story of the journey to the west might not have been entirely true if not complete lie. One of the most popular theory is that Six Eared Macaque successfully impersonated Wukong halfway through the journey and reaped all the benefits himself. So, we are gonna be playing as the real Wukong that somehow awakened after many years but lost most of his memories. Another theory is that the journey we know from the book was a fabrication from the very beginning and now we're gonna see what really happened. Of course, all this is nothing more than speculations at this point. Waiting until the game is out.

Funny enough, back when I was in school and when we were taught the Greek mythology, they didn't just drop most of the weird and sexual stuff. It was all included.

Can you guys React to an Overly Sarcastic Productions video? Most of them tend to be very short so you should have no trouble fitting them in. Also, Red's take on the Greek myths are very fun to watch.

Red also has a series of videos on journey to the west that are really fun

There's a spanish series of musical animated videos on youtube called "destripando la historia" (gutting history in spanish) that tell the stories of several mythological characters from different phanteons (Hercules and Wukong included). The official versions are, of course, in spanish but there are versions on youtube that have english subtittles if you would like to check them out. They might be in another language but the songs are really cool.

None fictions omnipotent beings are close to true main characters who surpassed all in their fictions stories too.

Uh, Death Battle actually tried their best to avoid spoilers with Omni-Man vs Homelander.

Eh I'm kinda on their side with it. I wouldn't take the risk for even the slightest spoiler and I've already been spoiled on shit for invincible because people can't keep their damn mouths shut for other people's sake. It's why I haven't watched maxors elden ring video since I'm still playing it even though I'm pretty sure I'm close to the end.

The point was that kratos was trying to find ways to get rid of his nightmares and depression which he tried going for s3x in those minigames despite it was only temporary to calm his trauma which even he felt it wasnt always working which was why he ended up just releasing his anger and frustration throughout the 3 games

At the End of his story, Hercules became a part of all of heaven. As the Beginning of his story, Sun Wu Kong was equal to all of heaven. So…. Yeaaaaah…

I have to say the miming at the beginning is pretty good ^^

Whenever I see Sun WuKong, I immediately think of his character as “I’m Awesome and no one can stop me.”

ahh, Heracles by the greeks or Hercules by the romans vs. Sun Wukong, the Monkey King. the Greek hero and/or antihero we all know so well. and the main character from Journey to the West, one of the most recognizable chinese novels ever made, right along with the likes of The Art of War, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Dream of the Red Chamber, The Plum in the Golden Vase, Water Margin, The I-Ching and The Tao Te Ching. oh, and the Dragon Ball franchise is loosely based from the chinese novel.

For Hercules having access to the hydra poison arrows, its a part of his arsenal and he had alot of the arrows...like alot alot, so it wasn't anything about not having acess to the hydra blood or running out of arrows, he just really could not strike such a fast and tricky opponent

I'm one of those guys who does death battles, and Sun Wukong is a boundless entity, yes, the Wukong who reached Buddhahood, once he reached nirvana, he can never die, ever, the man is op asf, he is a tier 0 character, along with others like Featherine, or scp 001 (Swann's proposal) or TOAA etc. ngl, it's hard for tier 0s to beat each other, but Hercules definitely ain't tier 0 not even close

TL;DR: Sun Wukong is that side character that is more famous and well known then the main character, and like most myths that are Greek in origin even Hercules is can be complicated In the books we don't even learn of Tripitaka (who's suppose to be the main character btw) until the 8th chapter, the first SEVEN CHAPTERS are solely about Sun Wukong's birth, war against heaven, and it goes up to his imprisonment under the mountain. And as @sauceywater3128 stated Wukong also learned a technique from the Taoist master Puti (Subhuti) called the 72 Transformations, which people can't seem to agree as to what it does, since I've seen it be described as only allowing him to transform into 72 different things which gives an extra life with each transformation, while another version is that the technique gives him 72 different powers, though the two translations I have read used the latter, which is how he has the ability to survive when his head is cut off among other things. The two labors that were disqualified by King Eurystheus (who is Hercules' cousin btw) was the 2nd labor of defeating the Hydra since Hercules had the assistance of his nephew/lover Iolaus, who was the son of Hercules' lesser known mortal half brother Iphicles, since it was Iolaus' idea to burn the neck stumps after cutting off the heads (also fun fact of the nine heads one is immortal, it was cut off and buried under a rock), while the 5th task of cleaning the Augean Stables was disqualified since Hercules both received payment for the service and rerouted a nearby river to due so. Also if your wondering why in the video it was said he was renamed Heracles but is better known as Hercules is since Heracles is the Greek version of the name while the more famous roman version (Hercules) became more popular over time.

the only sorta adaptation of 'Journey to the West' i know of is The Monkey King miniseries i watched on the Sci-Fi (or Syfy) channel back in the 2000's, starring Bai Ling and Randall Duk Kim.

supposedly wukong is only one of four cosmic monkeys that have great/equal power. wukong is the wise stone monkey, there is also the six eared monkey that was not a fan of wukong and has fought wukong to a stalemate in an attempt to take wukong's place. the 6 eared monkey was able to make such a good transformation that none of the gods, demons, sages (except one who was too scared to tell the truth) could tell which is the real wukong. some have theorized that the game black myth is about the 6 eared monkey and not the real wukong, based on a theory that the six eared monkey did replace wukong and is the one that completed the journey to the west.

And in turn it would be that buddha lies and wukong not only creates clones he creates life that passes multiverses or the destruction of the previous one, that's why the macaque wants to replace him. That's why the buddha theory kills wukong and leaves the 6-eared one to finish his way. In the golden horn chapter, a clone escapes and does not return with wukong's command. So they would be clones even more powerful than what is accepted in the battle forums.

Another thing that Vikings is that make The Most Gruesome and Painful Torture ever (like making a Blood Eagle which is they open up there there victim’s back and make them as like wings and they take the lungs and pull them backwards and then hang them on a tree or something and yet with all that painful torture the victim is still alive)

That audio issue seems to be a recurring problem. Sucks to hear that happened again.

What most people don't mention is that the monsters Hercules fought most were children of typhon the monster that Zeus fought

Honestly, I'm not even surprised they didn't use the end game version of Nirvana Sun Wukong. One who isn't able to be killed at all, and can't ever die.

I completely respect y'all not wanting to get spoiled so I won't say, but don't worry about getting spoiled by the comics. they've changed so much and season one from the comics alone, that chances are whatever they say won't spoil anything. That's just like with the boys. They've dramatically changed the show from the comics. So there's like an 80% chance that spoiling the comics will not spoil the show. Except maybe give you the names of some new characters

Here's the thing about the Peaches of Immortality..they don't ACTUALLY give Immortality per se..depending on the lore at the LEAST they give 3,000 years of life and there are three different types of peaches that grow at different times..the important one being the 3rd type that grows every 9,000 years and pretty much DOES grant immorality...it's the fact that Wukong ate at least 1 of each of the three types....he made himself pretty much impossible to kill will his various forms of immorality...by the end of his journey in Journey to the west he was an 8-fold immortal..he wound up eating a fruit more powerful than the peaches on the journey that consuming one would grant 47,000 years of life..just smelling the dang thing granted 360 years of life and it only grew in one very specific place every 10,000 years. He found 8...8 WAYS to extend his life and grant immortality in one way or another. Heracles is strong and battle savvy but Wukong just couldn't be put down by anything he had short of possibly the poisoned arrows..and that one is still a bit iffy imo given he struck his name from the book of mortals in the underworld. Heracles is OP...Wukong is just straight up BROKEN powerful as far as abilities goes on top of his immortality.

Not to mention his '72 Transformations' deal, with don't actually give him 72 Transformations, but rather the ability of BOUNDLESS transformation outside of omnipotence. The '72' part of that? That refers to the extra 72 EXTRA LIVES that it gives him, so not only do you have to bypass ALL of his immortality, you also have to kill the guy 72 times before he finally croaks! He really is the epitome of 'Broken'

To be fair, Sun Wukong was an arrogant prick who basically barged into the Jade Palace and DEMANDED a title. Plus he started a war on Heaven. Im pretty sure it got so bad that the Buddha HAD to step in.

Putting this out there, wu kong easily trounces hercules in strength, because not only does hold infinity, it doesn't even burden him.

Wukong has found enlightenment and got a cool title as “the Victorious Fighting Buddha”, while Hercules is no better than all the false idols that religious groups despise. And as a cruel irony: Wukong is immortal by many things he got (transformations, peaches, a de-immortalizing furnace), despite being in pain from scorpion poison (which doesn’t kill him at all); but Hercules is born a mortal and died from hydra poison.

Why is the death battle name blocking the fight remove it
