With the Boxer engine, Herbie actually sounds a bit like Herbie in the movie haha!

Right on Justin! I love how you took the time to map all the electronics out on some plywood to test everything, I have a buddy who did something very similar when he did an LS swap in his '70 Firebird. Granted you went to water cooled from air-cooled, mad props sir! You really took your time with this and made it right. Making the rear end removable is incredible smart from a service perspective also. Congrats on a job well done. I hope it means that a super epic Herbie road trip is in your future!

Nice ! Makes me want to keep working on mine. I did my wiring on a repurposed kitchen table, covered in cardboard, ZEN like focus for one weekend, ECU pin out diagram in on hand, sorting wires with the other... I should have labeled stuff like you did. Mine did not start, the relay had power, but I missed the wiring, (found a note, asking where do I connect this to ? after it started). Test mode, take it to ground, I needed that when I called Mick at Busaru and we got it sorted and started. Bleeding the air out (vanagon) was a pita...but so nice to hear it idle and the fans kick on and off...It's almost ready for paint...
