Just love how Mrs stimats is completely oblivious and just considers this a normal day for her how many times has Herbie needed to take a "short cut"

Arguably the single best part of Rides Again. Herbie theme mixed with a car chase. Almost as good as racing (not really, but in Rides Again, you take what you can get). Not to mention the arrangement of the Herbie theme during those up-ramp scenes is fantastic - wish it had an OST release.

I must have watched this movie- and the other Herbie movies -a hundred times as a kid. I think I appreciate all the subtle humor so much more now. Though the way Hawk's voice goes funny as he says "Sheraton Palace Hotel" is funny to me no matter how old or young I am.

cassandra cruz I think he’s the car equivalent of a dog. He’s reliable and vigorously defends his driver. As far as her saying she’ll call Mr. Honest Al, that tells me Herbie just wants a forever home 🏠👨‍👩‍👦‍👦🚗

I love how Mrs. Steinmetz doesn't care about what's happening throughout this scene. All we know is, that every place Herbie goes, does only one thing Mrs. Steinmetz knew, a shortcut to the market. What's got me in this scene is when Herbie drives at the bridge, the cables on the Golden Gate Bridge 🤣🤣🤣

Herbie proved in this scene how brave and clever he is :D

Funny you should say eyes of a hawk. She works for Alonzo Hawk. It’s also funny that later in the movie someone calls HAWK an old BUZZARD & earlier he’s called a no good coyote. Coyotes & hawks are similar. They live in the same kinds of areas & prey on the same kinds of animals.

Chippermonkey33 did you know that they didnt use the actual bridge but they did use a herbie to be pulled up the set :fun fact the herbie that was used actually fell off the set and exploded due to a faulty gear that was used in the pulley mechanics

you know, watching the original movies and then watching fully loaded feels like an entirely different experience. seriously, the tone and feel of fully loaded is extremely different compared to the old films. please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this

The first two Love Bug movies are my favorite. The others are ok to me, but the 1997 Love Bug remake actually made me sick when Herbie was brutally killed by Horace The Hate Bug. That movie was just plain wrong to me and Walt Disney would have never made such a picture. It just goes to show how much the world changed over the years and how much Disney as a corporation changed as well. I miss the original vision of Walt Disney and his company because if Walt was alive today, I believe he would fire everyone running the company.

Also Herbie Fully Load as much as I like it has WAY too many things wrong with it, starting with Lindsay Lohan not being the right fit for him. Too much CGI for the face, and his engine doesn't have that characteristic roar like it did in the original Love Bug films, the 1997 Remake, and the T.V. Series from the 80s. Changing him to a street racer was border line tolerable, but changing him to a NASCAR was just outright wrong.

I can't believe it, I actually like this movie despite the fact that I'm an 80's guy.

01:26 It couldn't have been easy to go so fast in the corners so tight with such big Lincoln Continentals.

2:29 i keep coming back to this part to think why the guests don't care about a sentient Volkswagen driving in across the restaurant

Sure driving up the bridge cables was impressive, but that first bit of action with Herbie climbing a wall/cliff to get around the roadblock was cool as well.

When I saw herbie goes to Monte Carlo I noticed they gave herbie custom tires instead of the stock VWs, he looks alot better with those custom tires

Matthew Let's play/chat I have a diecast model of Herbie from the Monte Carlo movie. The custom tires he had were Goodyear GT radial tires. Since he was competing in a road race in that movie he needed Goodyear’s since Goodyear tires are used for racing

There are two '73s in the mix, though they show up alternately. When they box Herbie in, the 4-door at the far left is a '73. Note the thicker and wider spaced bumperettes. Main bumper also sits farther forward to comply with the 5MPH bumper laws. Later on, the a '73 two door shows up as the last car in the parking lot scene - and I believe that's the case in that super-quick outdoor approach shot at the beginning of the chase. My guess is that there are really six cars here, probably leased from Ford's film and TV division - three used on soundstage, three on location. Probably shot all on the same week with two different crews. Also notice the interior shot car has to be a '65 or older Lincoln. The '72-73s didn't have a package tray that dipped into the seats.

@@cudak888 Take a closer look. The '72s had the word "Continental" at the top of the grille. The '73s had the word "Lincoln" at the top of the grille.
