Un'iniziativa altamente meritoria; dovrebbe restare in catalogo per un lungo periodo, come accadeva ai LP di quando ero ragazzo. Karajan nell'interpretazione dell'opera teatrale è stato geniale al pari di Arturo Toscanini. La sua autentica rivoluzione, consistente soprattutto nel reinventare una regia vocale che consentiva il controllo di ogni più minuto dettaglio, ha toccato anche il modo di raccontare l'opera, di presentare la psicologia di ogni personaggio sotto tutti gli (spesso contraddittori) aspetti. Un autentico genio dell'interpretazione del teatro in musica.
Wow this set went out of print fast! I tried to get it for the past 2 years with no luck----without paying 800 bucks, of course. DG BRING IT BACK PLEASE!

That is indeed the problem with opera complete sets. I don't like them for that reason.
Solti's ring was so much better though.......
