That’s the afternoon of the summer 2018 when I was a conducting fellow rehearsing Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No.3 with the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra.
I realized my greatest idol, the legendary Herbert Blomstedt is sitting in the Hall watching, so I intentionally finished my session 15 minutes earlier and turned to him: “ Mr. Blomstedt, is there something you may want to teach me or share with us?”.
Thus comes the video, it was a meaningful moment to me, so here I share with everyone who admires his music and personality as much as I do.

Good conductor nothing more
He really is a top man: the musicians love him and they easily learn from him. Yet....... he comes from the old old days when a conductor was usually a cross between a dictator and an awful tyrant... he ought to be like this! but he is not. At 94 he is thoroughly modern!!

@@andreaguarino8207 Oh yes.. players adore him, in every country. He does not behave as a tyrant, and yet he came from a generation where it was normal to be a conductor and a tyrant.
