People are hesitant about going to rehab because addiction is powerful my friend. It took 6 months of rehab to bring me back to life and I resisted so hard at the beginning. This song and the irony of Amy's tragedy keeps me grateful that I stuck it out and am still here clean and sober 7 years later. May she RIP.

Thank God you're fine now Anne. Always remember what you went through to get to where you are now, just in case you're ever tempted again.

Congratulations Anne Buckley.
The fact that no one took her seriously as a artist, bashed her and made fun of her for her addiction was so horrible. I feel all the media making fun of her made her fall into a deeper depression than she already was in. I adored her and still love listening to her music. R.I.P Amy 🖤

I’m not sure where you are, but in the uk she was very respected as an artist. It wasn’t the media, sadly, it was the people who were supposed to live and care for her - her awful father who treated her like a meal ticket, and her drug addled boyfriend Blake. He’s the one who introduced her to drugs, and her Dad didn’t help in case the cash stopped rolling in. Don’t forget “my daddy thinks I’m fine”. At least Blake owned his influence. Her dad is still grifting for money. Scum, the pair of them.
Her album "Back to black" is a true masterpiece
The main reason people don't want to go to rehab is bc we don't want to go thru withdrawals. It f'ing sucks even with help. BUT it's sooo worth it if you stick it out. Rehab saved my life and I'm a grateful recovering addict with 12 yrs of sobriety this year.

Valerie…The one and only video in my “favorites” playlist. Period.
They have to see that it's the only way to get out from under the alcohol or drugs. It's that rock bottom thing. And you can't do it for anyone else you have to do it for your own self. My youngest is an addict and finally went to rehab and has been doing well for three years now. She got her son back. I'm very proud of her.
Gotta watch “Valerie” She’s amazing❤️ Rest in Power Amy
You know even if Amy never recorded another note I wish she could have lived to a ripe old age if only she could have found some happiness and peace of mind. Check out Amy's - Tears Dry On Their Own.
And it was that addiction that finally killed her. 😥😥😥 Rest in peace Amy Winehouse

Amy died of alcohol poisoning, she'd been clean of drugs for two years.
"I 'aint got the time, and my daddy thinks I'm fine..' That's true. Her father thought she didn't need to go back to rehab, so she didn't. How f**king sad is that!
I learnt a hard lesson fairly late when I tried to save my sister from a toxic relationship. It cost me 126 000 dollars, our relationship and almost my sanity. It eventually led to her death. The lesson :- You can't save people. First they have to want to be saved. Tragically too many people were enabling Amy, she never admitted to herself the need for rehab and it cost her life.

Yo my G, you might be interested that Adele and Amy did a live performance together at the Brit awards. I know how you feel about Adele, Adele attributes 90% of her career to her influence from Amy. Peace from England 🇫🇴.
Such an amazing vocalist 💜 so sad she's gone
Listening to more Amy would be great. She's spell binding
I think a lot of it is that they know the physical side they go through when withdrawal kicks in, even though they are helped with that. Amy was out of this world, just a shame about her addictions.

It was good to see that Amy got off the heroin, it's a shame that she couldn't beat her booze habit.
You could very easily sink down the Amy Winehouse rabbit hole. She is amazing!
She revolutionized the jazz genre, for she was the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time. Her lyrics were as profound as Bob Dylan's, and that is really saying something. Young Angelina Jordan covers this beautifully but her mom made her change the theme to 'I don't want to go to school'. It's fabulous!
Amy Winehouse is the one of the best singers ever as I'm a rap lover she's been one of the few singers who touched deep into me
12 years ago, we lost a truly amazing talent. Rest in peace Amy. I hope you are giving a sold-out concert in Heaven.
Fear of change is a big problem for most people. Their way of life is so familiar that they can't really see ANY other way. I got sober in 1995, 26 years and still alive and kicking
Her sound is timeless ain't it tho?
Love how she slips two of her favorite artists into her song- "I'd rather stay home with Ray, there's nothing they can teach me, that I can't learn from Mr Hathaway." Ray Charles and Donny Hathaway were some of her influences.
I read she was walking with manager and told him they wanted her to go to rehab. He said that's a song and they went directly to studio
RIP AMY ONE OF A KIND
What a voice, God bless her...RIP
If you like the sound you could check out her back up band The Dap Kings. They have a bunch of records with their actual singer, the late great Sharon Jones.
By "I'm gonna lose my baby" she means her lover/boyfriend at the time.
A once in a lifetime voice.
Definitely do Valerie.. the acoustic version!
You MUST react to Amy & Paul Weller "Don't Go to Strangers" when she was Jools Holland. There are two videos of this collab. sung at different times. Make sure to check out the one where she's in a black dress. Stunning vocals!
I think one reason for not going, is because going means you have to look in the mirror, and admit you did something bad or stupid, or whatever---Amy sings that it's not about pride, but it's hard to imagine that that's not part of it. Poor Amy---she had SOOOO much to give, and died WAAAAY too soon (she belongs to the "27 club")---R.I.P. baby girl!
Her music was about her struggles with substance abuse and alcohol, therapy, rehab, relationships. She went through a lot and people made fun if her, her music is amazing and she didn't have any kids, she also dated another person who was also on drugs with her just like Kurt and Courtney it was toxic . Having the money or connections you can get the drugs and alcohol it's easy access. When your surrounded by all this bad stuff and doing things like smoking or drinking at a young age is stuff you see on a regular than yeah its hard because it's enabling you
She is sadly another lost to the 27 club😔 in the 80's drugs were everywhere, rehab saved my life.
She also covered "Cupid" by Sam Cook. OMG amazing! Amy joined the 27 club. What a dirty shame she passed away.
Maybe if she had gone to Rehab, perhaps she still be alive.

The woman was SINGULAR! The first time I heard this, I wanted to know what year it came out it... It came out a week before I heard it. Timeless is timeless when it comes to style!
Addiction can truly have a death grip on some once it's sunk it's claws into a person. ADogg there's a chemistry reason in how the brain works on & it's influence over your body which may drive someone to keep doing the drug or whatever the habit so conflict between your own self and your own body can become a war plus then you have yourself on the psychological part then maybe environment like situations you are physically present in and having to deal with plus also could be genetic as well but I do know it's a battle for some. Sometimes unless you really can admit to yourself mind body & soul and STAY MINDFUL which is a major part and do what's necessary to quit & remain in that mindset it can be the hardest thing for someone to overcome once they fall prey to effects and influence it has on a person and once you fall prey it's gonna take a hold that for some can be a battle for your life. I think most people have had some form of this somewhere in their lifetime being it's a human condition.
Love Amy...miss her 😢
For rehab to work you've got to want to go , most don't want to go coz even tho it's destroying them it still feels good. While your wasted all your problems disappear , later can sort itself out.
Rehab, Been there Good place when you see why those ancient hospital buildings were built, and you find that the others there are the same but different. And you can stay quiet. Or sometimes tell stories. Remember. Some of us need the Cuckoos Nest.
It’s not about the time in rehab,it’s become their life all they know. It’s their friend ,their enemy, and all consuming
You are so goodhearted. Lol. I think baby means her boyfriend, not her kid. The bass of the saxophone really gets me. So good!!!!!
Her voice is so special and I really miss her! This is sort of a bittersweet song. Thanks for doing the reaction, watched it all with you.
sadly she died from alcohol and heroin. its said she drank up to or more than 3 fifths of liquor a day. what a loss. just sad

She was 3 years sober by the time she died in 2011, no drugs were found in her body at the time of her death. She died of alcohol poisoning, her body couldn’t handle the sudden binge and she also had complications with her severe bulimia that she had since she was a teenager.
Wassup ADogg 🧡 good 🌄 morning. Just in at the start ready to watch. I like this one & here for ya my friend. Have an AWESOME day 🤚🏼👋🏼
I knew you’d appreciate Amy when I saw this pop up. Enjoyed.
Thanks for the reactions!! Da real Dogg keeping it real!! Amy was a natural born talent! CAN'T be taught! RIP
admitting yourself into rehab means admitting you actually have a problem which is a huge step.
Amy is a LEGEND. Definitely react to more of her. In My Bed is one of my favorites of her, would love to see check it out
She asked her dad if she should. He saw the $ she was bringing in and chose that over saying “yes”.
My son’s friend was a young alcoholic. He finally convinced her to tell her mother and go to rehab. What always happens is they binge before going. She hung herself in the closet. We all miss her. She was a beautiful person. Rip Tracy. We love you. My son still hasn’t gone to Alanon. Anyone who knows even one person with a drinking problem can benefit from Alanon. You learn what you can and cannot do to help them. At Tracy’s funeral, her beloved basset hound died. Grief or heart attack. Just died.
Addiction is powerful and the hardest part is to admit you have a problem and need help.... been there..
I've been to a rehab it is quite stupid what they do is ask you about certain things and then he turn around and bash your head on what you told them
If you can find it, check out her song Addicted. It was only released on the European version of Back To Black. There is no video, but it's a great song. All about weed LOL
You ain't ready till U R ready . not cuz someone told ya you gatta
Alot of people turn to drugs and alcohol to mask and dull emotional issues that they can't deal with. Getting clean and having to face those demons sober is scary
There's a lot of reasons. Sometimes people make excuses. I think its really deep down just that any big change is scary. Getting sober is a big change. A lot of addicts fear living and dealing with life without drugs and alcohol. Some people think they are fine and are in deep denial. Some people realize they have and problem and want to get better, but think they can get better on their own.
The most obvious reason they don’t wanna do rehab is actually having to give up the drugs - so basically the reason they need rehab is the same reason they don’t wanna go.
Not bad for a Jewish white girl from London 🇬🇧 R.I.P. 🙏🏾 Amy 🎤🎶💗💗💗 Portland Oregon USA 🇺🇸
Addiction is hard and it can be from a traumatic time in their lives and most of them dont want to relive that experience again
Can you do Amy Winehouse-I love you more than you'll ever know LIVE? Its a cover but she sounds great
Addiction. Period.
Can't accept the defeat in life.... Because most don't want to take responsibility. Everyones life is precious and there is a reason for you to be here. If you want meaning in life stop thinking about yourself and start thinking of others.
I know you're a fan of Adele. Adele and Amy both went to the same Brit school in London.
Some people have trauma in their backgrounds and addiction can be a coping mechanism for emotional pain....that might be a reason why getting clean seems scary for some?
Check out the Frank album, the album before Back to Black. She was just amazing on that one as well.
I suppose if people are heavily addicted that’s possibly one reason they don’t want to go to rehab, it would mean they would have their drug of choice taken away.and it scares them.
They don’t want to go because they like getting high. At some point, the body gets addicted and they don’t know how to live sober. It scares them!
There are two women that I believe a thousand percent died from a broken heart… Amy Winehouse and Anna Nicole Smith.

And Lisa Marie Presley and Sinéad O'Connor (both of them lost their sons).
That’s cause “daddy’s girl” is always fine.
Before you actually go to jail, rehab feels like going to jail
If she would have went to rehab, she might still be with us.
People are usually don't go for the time it takes and withdrawals are a bitch. When you have withdrawals, sometimes you have severe situations where death is possible. It can be scary.

No actually she means by her “Daddy” her actual dad, her dad told her she was fine and didn’t need to go to rehab. Now when she’s taking about “loosing her baby” she refers to Blake which had left her at the time and is what inspired Back To Black as an album, besides her internal struggles.
Amy Winehouse, a British phenom; should have gone to rehab again and maybe she would still be with us. So sad.
Don't want to admitting they have a problem

She did go to Rehab multiple times, the song entails the first time she was told to go to Rehab… that was when she didn’t. As at the time she did have her issues but she wasn’t as she was years later, she tried to fight her demons but couldn’t at the end. She relapsed multiple times, though she was able to stay sober of drugs for 3 years, alcohol never left her and that would be her death cause.
Jay-Z did a mash up with this.
When she says about her baby, it's not a child, it's her choice of drug
why didn't somewhere help her?
So sad that her addictions killed her so young. If only she had been able to control her demons and work them out through her music.
Don't pause you donut. This ain't hip hop crap, that's music. Just sit back and enjoy
☮️💙🔥😢
Poor girl. She just couldn’t stop and stopping alcohol killed her🙁
