People are hesitant about going to rehab because addiction is powerful my friend. It took 6 months of rehab to bring me back to life and I resisted so hard at the beginning. This song and the irony of Amy's tragedy keeps me grateful that I stuck it out and am still here clean and sober 7 years later. May she RIP.

The fact that no one took her seriously as a artist, bashed her and made fun of her for her addiction was so horrible. I feel all the media making fun of her made her fall into a deeper depression than she already was in. I adored her and still love listening to her music. R.I.P Amy 🖤

I’m not sure where you are, but in the uk she was very respected as an artist. It wasn’t the media, sadly, it was the people who were supposed to live and care for her - her awful father who treated her like a meal ticket, and her drug addled boyfriend Blake. He’s the one who introduced her to drugs, and her Dad didn’t help in case the cash stopped rolling in. Don’t forget “my daddy thinks I’m fine”. At least Blake owned his influence. Her dad is still grifting for money. Scum, the pair of them.

The main reason people don't want to go to rehab is bc we don't want to go thru withdrawals. It f'ing sucks even with help. BUT it's sooo worth it if you stick it out. Rehab saved my life and I'm a grateful recovering addict with 12 yrs of sobriety this year.

They have to see that it's the only way to get out from under the alcohol or drugs. It's that rock bottom thing. And you can't do it for anyone else you have to do it for your own self. My youngest is an addict and finally went to rehab and has been doing well for three years now. She got her son back. I'm very proud of her.

I learnt a hard lesson fairly late when I tried to save my sister from a toxic relationship. It cost me 126 000 dollars, our relationship and almost my sanity. It eventually led to her death. The lesson :- You can't save people. First they have to want to be saved. Tragically too many people were enabling Amy, she never admitted to herself the need for rehab and it cost her life.

She revolutionized the jazz genre, for she was the most uniquely different jazz singer of all time. Her lyrics were as profound as Bob Dylan's, and that is really saying something. I think one reason for not going, is because going means you have to look in the mirror, and admit you did something bad or stupid, or whatever---Amy sings that it's not about pride, but it's hard to imagine that that's not part of it. Poor Amy---she had SOOOO much to give, and died WAAAAY too soon (she belongs to the "27 club")---R.I.P. baby girl!

Her music was about her struggles with substance abuse and alcohol, therapy, rehab, relationships. She went through a lot and people made fun if her, her music is amazing and she didn't have any kids, she also dated another person who was also on drugs with her just like Kurt and Courtney it was toxic . Having the money or connections you can get the drugs and alcohol it's easy access. When your surrounded by all this bad stuff and doing things like smoking or drinking at a young age is stuff you see on a regular than yeah its hard because it's enabling you

Addiction can truly have a death grip on some once it's sunk it's claws into a person. ADogg there's a chemistry reason in how the brain works on & it's influence over your body which may drive someone to keep doing the drug or whatever the habit so conflict between your own self and your own body can become a war plus then you have yourself on the psychological part then maybe environment like situations you are physically present in and having to deal with plus also could be genetic as well but I do know it's a battle for some. Sometimes unless you really can admit to yourself mind body & soul and STAY MINDFUL which is a major part and do what's necessary to quit & remain in that mindset it can be the hardest thing for someone to overcome once they fall prey to effects and influence it has on a person and once you fall prey it's gonna take a hold that for some can be a battle for your life. I think most people have had some form of this somewhere in their lifetime being it's a human condition.

There's a lot of reasons. Sometimes people make excuses. I think its really deep down just that any big change is scary. Getting sober is a big change. A lot of addicts fear living and dealing with life without drugs and alcohol. Some people think they are fine and are in deep denial. Some people realize they have and problem and want to get better, but think they can get better on their own.

She did go to Rehab multiple times, the song entails the first time she was told to go to Rehab… that was when she didn’t. As at the time she did have her issues but she wasn’t as she was years later, she tried to fight her demons but couldn’t at the end. She relapsed multiple times, though she was able to stay sober of drugs for 3 years, alcohol never left her and that would be her death cause.
