The idea of having a village made up of tiny homes is something that resonates with me. I thought I was alone in imagining that.

You are def not alone in imagining that. I have a friend who had a property in a beautiful treed valley and I tried to convince him to build a circle of tiny homes to rent out to travelers and folks seeking to stay in the mountains of western Canada. I pictured a nice fire pit and seating area at the edge of the trees.

If it was an actual community. Like maybe a part of town that is cited for tiny homes and plots of land sold for this. Otherwise it would be a trailer park and I despise them. Even though you own your home you don't own the land it sits on. You have to follow their usually obnoxious rules Otherwise you'd be evicted. But your home is still on their property. I don't like the idea of not owning the land you're living on. To me it's the same concept as renting an apartment.

Hey! I am South African. The mosquitos are not that mad. In the city I barely notice them throughout the summer. When I go to the countryside where my village is located there are quite a few. I think it's from the manure from the livestock. I usually just buy a cream for bites but we do not have screens. Very few houses in SA have screens. I never knew about them until I started watching American shows. Don't take my word for it though! We are very weird people in this country lol. Like most houses don't have air conditioning. Only rich people do. I was so shocked when I watched American shows and normal people had air-conditioning. We just suffer through the heat🤣

@kanyisantombini8793 Thank you! Yes. Mosquitos and other biting bugs are a real pest here in the USA. We are very fortunate to have screens! I used to live in the northeastern part of the US and had no air conditioning, but here in the hot, humid South, I find it to be a real blessing. Sending virtual hugs to you! Hoping you can find ways to cool off on the hottest days. God bless!

It's not our desire to be deceiving at all-- Yulande does rent this tiny out on Air BnB while she travels and builds other tinies. However, she does live in it between trips etc. The house you can see in the background is actually a full sized house on the same property.

She also explained what her background was and what she is doing now. I had trouble catching every thing she said due to her speaking fast (for me) and her accent. Yet, I thought she gave a lot of information, and showing us most of what she was talking about. She even mentioned that although tiny houses can be moved, it's a bit of work (and most likely money) to set up in a new location. I appreciated her detail and honesty. She lives there when she wants to or needs to and otherwise rents it out. Did you fall asleep or something?

Oh my gosh, if she says "minimalist" once more, I will throw up. I am not minimalist in everything, just in clothing and kitchenware but I would love a tiny house.

It's totally a choose your own adventure type of thing! Some folks love living tiny and minimally, others keep a "maximalist" vibe as they downsize. 😊 So fun to see the different personalities and ways folks make it work.

This is a really good house but I have to say I disagree anyhow you have to keep tidy I mean you don't want to live in filth and who was it who decided you have to be a minimalist to live in a tiny home there are plenty of tiny homes that people are not minimalist and you do realize you can have accessory dwellings like sheds and things of that nature to keep things in as you need them I'm sorry but I'm not going to be living this life or I'm borrowing everything from Neighbors and such I'm not doing that I want my own I want to be autonomous and independent

Thankfully we can just watch it, not subscribe to those businesses etc. There are so many channels to choose from 😜 She set up her place , it's not lived in. She shouldn't open her empty clothes drawer 🤣😂😅 Locking landscaping , it's not well kept outside 😏

Yeah... it's like the Greedy people have gotten into Tiny Homes so they can overcharge visitors w/ AirBNB pricing. When alot of us are trying to find lower cost ways to live & leave a smaller footprint

While the tiny house is beautiful, this video screams priveledge. This lady doesn't even know that there is property in SA for R500k or less which is strangely where the majority of South Africans live.
