I paid a little bit more than that but not by much and the proof is in the pudding......25 years married......Is Cindy Crawford still married to Richard Gere? Nope......was the $25 million wedding dress worth it?........statistics have show that the more expensive the wedding the shorter it tends to last so with an $80 wedding dress your marriage should last a long time.

My father said I could have a big fancy wedding or the deposit for a house. So we had just close family and friends, used the garden of the student hall where I had been living, finger buffet from a local caterer. My mum made my and the bridesmaids' dresses, we walked to and from the church which was literally next door where I had been in the choir. The husband of one of the staff at the place I was living was a professional baker and made us a one-layer traditional rich fruit cake. It was a beautiful English summer day and cost peanuts.

I don’t have to give out cash because someone wants to try and guilt me into it. Get your butt up, go to work, and get what you want. So tired of freeloader mentality. I don’t care what someone else spends, and it is absolutely no one else’s business, What I spent! Haters need to get over themselves and clearly if you are bagging on other people about something that isn’t your business, you didn’t enjoy the $400 dollar wedding that much. It’s about who you love and the life you live with them. The wedding is the entry into that life and nobody has the right to criticize.

You know, I have to laugh at all you people being critical about how much these women pay for their wedding dresses when they can afford it and if that's what they wanna do with their wedding then so be it. I'm more concerned about what America does with their taxpayers money, going toward wars instead of feeding hungry people that's the true crime. Instead of sending $6 billion to the Ukraine we could be feeding every homeless person in America for the rest of their lives..

Catherine’s gown supposedly cost £545,000 (paid by her parents), but looking at the materials and the amount of hand work and hand embroidery we know that wouldn’t be true for anyone else shopping for the same or similar gown at Alexander McQueen. In early 1970 my dress cost $80.00 which was a sample, they gave me a slip they had, and the veil was just a couple of dollars. They had to take it in as I was tiny then and alterations were included in the price of the dress. I was extremely lucky I got such a pretty dress for that price. The dress was pretty, but I admit I really wanted the $500.00 one that I could not afford. If I had the money I would have gotten that one. So, I understand why these woman get what they want. Those dresses they get, only go up in price, they might auction them off, and donating the money to a good cause, who knows.

What a waste of money - money that could be used for so many other things - but, these Narcissists can only think of themselves and showing off and highlighting themselves. Sickening. The gowns are beautiful of course, but it’s not really about the dress now is it?

It's easy to spend other people's money isn't it? But since they have it, they can spend it any way they want to. Many wealthy people donate to causes that are near and dear to their hearts without fanfare. And those causes may not be the ones you would choose. The great thing about living in a country where you can spend you money the way you want to is exactly that, the way YOU want to. Not the way someone else wants you to. Have a great day.

Thank you for your comment. Most of us can spend a few dollars or donate their time to help others. There are a lot of charitable organizations out there that take a few dollars contribution, add it to others and soon there are more people who were without, getting water, food, education, medical help and training to become productive members of their societies. Find one or more that touches your heart and give. (At the present time here in the USA there is a need for donated blood that doesn't get mentioned often enough.)

Sometimes major natural disasters or man made disasters are good for the soul and puts things in perspective…..then real things start to matter like basic necessities like food, water, safety, close net community, and shelter.
