I love that you’re taking classes to learn how to do her hair. You’re such a good momma and she’s so beautiful and the braids came out so good! 💛💛

I think Ziya will really appreciate you as a mom as she gets older. Although she’s more on the shy/timid side when it comes to trying new things, I think you do a really great job of preparing her to try them. Just talking to her beforehand and letting her know what to expect probably eases her mind and maybe even gets her a little excited when the time comes! So happy for you two 😊

Add moisturizer to her braids to keep her hair from breaking due to the dryness from chlorine as well as the artificial hair that dries out hair and it cuts into the natural hair like micro sissors that break the hair. Or run conditioner over the braids. Put a drop in hand and run along the braids once a week. This way when u take braids down you won't have as much tangle, knots and breakage.

Psa sorry to say, swim caps don't actually protect the hair. They weren't designed for that. They are meant to a) streamline the swimmer for optimally cutting through the water and b) protect pool drains

And also to protect the braids she has, so it won’t get frizzy that fast. But it’s a year a go, so I think - if so - you definitely found out by now hahaha! ❤

They came out so cute! I honestly didn't think they would hold up in the pool, but the braider did her thing! 😍

Swimming caps ‼️‼️ what we used to use to also protect our hair from the harsh pool chemicals and preserve hair styles (don’t quote me if that’s not true 😅)… they are relatively cheap and easy to find in sports-type shops

My momma used to say I can't get in the pool because the pool will mess up my hair especially after a perm or my hair just got washed. I try to put a cap on but if falls off

Beautiful hairstyle. I liked when she came home from school and her hair was all over the place - that shows she had a wonderful day at school. hahahaha! Ziya's swimming is coming along well ... she is going to be a champion by the end of summer season! Don't forget now ... you have to have a final swim of the summer party ... then a home movie outside to follow! Instead of a fence could you add bushy trees? It might be hard to get a lawnmower back there with a fence. ☀️🏊🏼‍♀️. Have a great summer Ziya!

@@AngelaaJoyy oh I figured something is better than nothing preserving our hair.. buy a good one like I had when I was young my hair barely got wet. It was mostly my edges surrounding baby hair… but it was tight 🤷🏾‍♀️

Her hair came out really cute! I always do jumbo braids in my daughters hair because she's impatient lol and has a a lot of hair. Just a suggestion try to find a swim cap specifically for natural hair/braids to preserve her braid because too must exposure to water can lead to fuzziness and shorter wear time.

Ziya's hair came out so good!!!! Here's a big tip for her hair, your hair & anyone's hair before getting in the pool saturate the hair with tap water! You don't want to be putting dry hair into pool water or ocean water or any kind of water that contains chemicals or minerals, the hair acts as a sponge. Lastly rinse the hair immediately coming out of the pool & if she is playing in the pool on a daily basis frequently give her fresh water rinses in between. The best case scenario would be if she could wear a swim cap & if you can get her a cap still keep with the fresh water before capping and the fresh water after. Hope she is enjoying her new style, she's so adorable! Take care.

I been swimming since i was 5, my mom would spray my hair with leave in conditioner and I would wear a swimming cap. There’s different sizes for caps that can help fit in the braids. This help to keep my braids last longer.

Just a thought! You could also do privacy trees in the backyard!! They might be a little taller and hide more of your house and also add some more greenery! We have them at my house and they are actually so pretty!
