Her First Half Marathon - Marathon Stories

Фильм және анимация

I started running almost 2 years ago and have completed 3 marathons. My daughter came to me about 4 months ago and told me she wanted to get in better shape. I told her I would help her. Then I decided to sign her up for a half marathon. I knew this would keep her accountable just like it did for me. She trained by herself and with me as well. She accomplished that goal and crossed the finish line. Enjoy her story.

Man Chris your monologue got me right in the feels. What we do with our kids as they grow up and to be the best role models is so hard and so important all at the same time. The best part is that she did AND finished and even though she was hurting it didn't matter cuz she got to do it with her dad. Nice that her sister showed up for moral support too. My daughter is 19.5 now and I remember ALL those kinda days. Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football and Girl Scouts....the whole nine yards. It was great seeing your experiencing your life with her growing up all that stuff was really important as you know, of course. So the question I've got is....what's next for her? Not whether she's gonna run any more races but where is she gonna go to college? I know man, it is REALLY scary stuff, but I bet she's got that too. She humored her dad twice and did 5K fun runs with other friends who would keep with her while dad plodded along trying to just finish at all. 1 lung and horrible feet will do that to an old guy. She surprised me by finishing in under 30 minutes both times. I was so proud of her. As for college she decided to go somewhere cold and is at the University of Montana. So proud of her. Looking forward to whatever is coming next for you Chris. You got it.

My kids are pretty special to me. I always said I didn’t want any girls. My first was my boy. Then I found out I was having a girl. The moment I held her changed me forever. Girls are so special. Great to here how well your daughter is doing. Lauren is planning on going local until she gets a better grasp on what she wants. I’m currently training for my 4th marathon. My initial plan was Moscow Russia in September but with the world the way it is changed that. I was then planning on Vegas. I just found out that was cancelled. So now I don’t know where it will be. Stay tuned. Take care! Thanks for reaching out.

I've seen and liked a lot of your videos. From your first marathon video through. You've gotten a lot faster, and way better at making videos. How are you learning to improve videos? I too want to make a small video for my family and friends as I embark on my first marathon. Anyway, thanks for any advice and for producing such great content.

Hey Jay. Thanks for sharing that. Very kind. Man it’s basically just come with time. I had to learn what worked and what didn’t based off the audience. Plus my lack of consistency has slowed things down. My recommendation would be to start out with short to the point content on what your plan is, what you are doing that day, how did that exercise go, and a takeaway. The main thing is stay who you are when the camera comes on. Keep recording! I need to post a video soon. I’m itching to do so.
