That’s why you shouldn’t baby talk. They’ll learn to speak better at a younger age and will have less issues with pronunciation. The 4, almost 5 year old I watch says: “birkey” instead of birthday, “bobbum” instead of bottom and those are only a couple of the examples. People who just meet him don’t know what he’s saying. His teachers can’t decipher.

@@Chiffawndue Boys struggle with language, girls speak clearer and better, faster. The boy you babysit does NOT speak the way he does because of baby talking adults. It can be nuerological as in in the brain and it can also be caused by an extra long tongue OR because a child was given a bottle or pacifier or sippy cup for too long and thrusting tongue habits became ingrained. There's a lot of different reasons for speech impediments but doing baby talk to them isn't one of them. Ridiculous.

That’s why you shouldn’t baby talk. They’ll learn to speak better at a younger age and will have less issues with pronunciation. The 4, almost 5 year old I watch says: “birkey” instead of birthday, “bobbum” instead of bottom and those are only a couple of the examples. People who just meet him don’t know what he’s saying. His teachers can’t decipher.

@@Chiffawndue Boys struggle with language, girls speak clearer and better, faster. The boy you babysit does NOT speak the way he does because of baby talking adults. It can be nuerological as in in the brain and it can also be caused by an extra long tongue OR because a child was given a bottle or pacifier or sippy cup for too long and thrusting tongue habits became ingrained. There's a lot of different reasons for speech impediments but doing baby talk to them isn't one of them. Ridiculous.
Children are so innocent she thinks the shadows of the trees outside her house rocking back and forth are broccoli God bless these angels
