Her Biggest Fish | We Beat the Odds Ice Fishing in -10° F

We spend three days out on the ice getting out of the cabin during the dark months and in hopes of landing a meal for dinner. The Alaskan scenery never disappoints and we do not come home empty handed. Arielle lands her biggest fish through the ice, a 20 inch Rainbow trout!

Hey and I hope all is well. Try using crushed white egg shells as an attractant for land locked sliver salmon and rainbow trout. Crush the white egg shells into small pieces and throw them down ice hole. As they slowly fall and flash they will draw in the fish. We all enjoy your youtube videos. Good luck fishing!

Of all the beautiful shots in this video, I think my absolute favorite is the relatively slow descent at 10:58 past the thickness of the ice. Almost every other video plunging into a frozen lake rushes past that part, trying to get to the underwater stuff, and we never see what it actually looks like. It's only a couple of seconds long, but this one is a really good view of what the lake ice looks like. Thank you for sharing it!

I've been thoroughly enjoying all of your videos and binge watch when I can. I love AK and have visited several times including a cruise to the Inside Passage and a flight to Barrow for a 24 hour visit. This video is my favorite....so many emotions! I almost cried with you Arielle....but the joy and the perseverance was the best! I was laughing and anxious and overjoyed when you finally pulled it through the hole. LOVE your videos and your lifestyle. If I ever get to AK again, I'll look you up!

Rainbows are a cold water species. They are quite a bit more lively than warm water species like Pike. Beautiful trout and honest excitement. Good job A/E
