There's a reason LoTR: return of the king took 11 Oscars home. The entire cast and crew dedicated themselves to making sure the movie was faithful to the source material. It couldn't fit everything in, but it stayed true to Tolkien's vision.

Unfortunately, it's easier said than done. To back up my statement, have you, since your comment, canceled any of the services? Also, they are not to blame. Disney, Amazon, and Netflix have nothing to do with lousy material. It's the people employed to do the job they are not cut out to do. Still, the most considerable blame goes to organizations like Sweet Baby Inc. or political parties who are determined to do their ONLY job imposing their beliefs into other people's minds. Services like Netflix or Disney are only interested in making more money. Their only job is to give money to someone they hire, who promises that, in the end, they will bring more money. And since, as an employee, you are allowed to lie or cheat as long as you secure "the job" you aim for. If they suck your lie, that's their problem.. they honestly believe the global delusion that the audience wants to see diversity and inclusion and that they are not gonna pay money to see something that's already done, hence the delusion that everything must be "unique," "different," fresh.... which is not valid, but how can we prove that? My point of view is through videos like this, raising our voices, writing blogs, posts, reviews, making your case, and speaking up. Off course, be constructive about it because if you just bitch about it, those parties are gonna use this against you. If you make your case backed up with arguments, they can do nothing about it other than prove themselves stupid :)

Because those people can't come up with anything original of their own if their lifes depended on it. And if they try, they are incapable of understanding that you can't build a good story around shallow stereotypes and around characters whose only character trait is 'being black, female, gay, trans, ...' So in the end, all they can do is steal other people's creations and try to bend and warp them to their liking. Best example for me in this department are the companions of Doctor Who. I don't know if you are even familiar with the show, but he had all kinds of companions. Male, female, black, white, old and young. And then there was Cpt. Jack Harkness, one of my most favourite fictional characters ever. I loved that guy. Now Cpt. Jack was a lot of things, really. A survivor, a charmer, a soldier, sometimes a con man, a leader concerned for his subordinates, a soldier of fortune, ... And amongst other things, he also happened to be bisexual. Nothing to write home about, really, nothing he or the show made a lot of fuzz about. And it even made sense further in his story, since he accidentally became immortal and was cursed to see everyone he knows and loves die, everything he knows and values wither and fall into ruin, time and time and time and again. It makes perfect sense that for someone like him, such silly mortal standards would mean precious little and that he is looking for a bit of solace where ever he can find it - even if that means more pain on the long run. A couple of seasons later and along came _Bill._ Bill was a gay black woman who... was a gay black woman that, well, was a gay black woman. Seriously, there is nothing more to tell about Bill, because she had pretty much zero other character traits. She was a bloody joke, a mere decal of a person. And accordingly she never _talked_ about anything else and hammered those two things across everyone's face, time and again, like a bloody broken record. 'I am black and gay and I am SO proud about it!' ... 'I am proud, because I am gay and black!' ... 'Slavery was baaad, doh!' And of course the show never mentions that there were plenty of _white_ people being enslaved by blacks or arabs or that black people sold other black people into slavery or that it were white people who decided to fight and die for the abolition of slavery for the first time in history. Not that a _time traveller_ could lecture her about that, nope, he just nods and agrees. FFS, they even made the Doctor complain that people would shun communism, just because it killed some hundrets of millions of people. Bill was the first companion ever who made me cheer when she vanished from the show and while it always hurts for some time to see a companion leave, the hole that Bill decal left had vanished like three seconds later as well. Ah, crap, autistic me did it again. A wall of text, but I get carried away so easily when it comes to this show. So in case you've actually made it through my ramblings, thanks a lot for your patience and interest.

@@Patterner It's too sad that most of classic Who was never aired here in Germany and that I missed a lot of what was aired as well, because I grew up in the GDR. And I never had any real contact with Sarah Jane Smith, but I am planning on getting the DVD boxes and catch up on all of those. Too bad the BBC actually re-used many of the tapes with many episodes of the first two Doctors, they are, ironically, lost in time forever. And funny that you mention Ace. The seventh Doctor was actually the first Doctor I had contact with and getting thrown right into the middle of a story arc, I had no bloody clue what the Frell was going on. But already being the sci-fi nerd I am still today, I _loved_ it at first glance. And yes, I had a serious crush on Ace - FFS, what is not to love on a girl who has a hand and a passion for explosives and beats up Daleks with a baseball bat? And Capaldi, well... I am still not sure what to make of him. I mean, Capaldi was a good Doctor, me thinks, but he suffered severely from the galopping wokism the show had contracted already. And sometimes Capaldi's Doctor appeared to be just so... pitiless both in how he acted and talked and how he judged people and situations. 🤷‍♂

Amazon is a shipping company, they couldn't care less about movies or the fans of the IPs they bought.

"I'm good." is the equivalent to "Not Sure" from Idiocracy.

first of all there was never going to be a beta for space marine 2 so there was no beta cancelled because there was never going to be a public beta, actually technically there already was and is. back in august 2023 they had a closed beta and currently have posted and stated numerous times that you can play the game technically for free if you go to one of or all of the events they hare having or participating in. and there is a massive difference between battle pass and season pass. a season pass is usually tied to a certain version of a game and usually always is a permanent fixture to the game and is almost always just cosmetics and is bought outside of the game hence not being a microtransaction within the game.

It doesn't help that GW doesn't care about their IP nearly as much as Cavil and the fanbase do. When the owner is not really interested in preserving it, there's not much that can actively be done about it.

Not everything adapts well from book to movie. But picking everything apart without a clue on how to fit it back together isn't the solution. GW already knows how to alienate players without outside help.

A lot of folks like to think they are Robert Jordan. They are not. Robert Jordan is famous for his wheel of time books. I love the first one and each one less and less up till the eight book, where i tapped out. his books are huge in every way there is to describe a book. But heres the thing. He got started in writing, by doing Conan novels, some of the very best since the Lin Carter, and L. Sprague DeCamp adaptations of Robert E Howards last Conan books and private notes and journals. Robert Jordan had read all the Robert E Howard books, not just the conan ones, he read all the notes and journals. He learned to be Robert E Howard. This is the fundamental difference between a modern writer and a good writer. A good writer brought into an IP, will do a ton of research. They will be familiar with the world. A great writer will roleplay as the original writer. We saw Peter Jackson do this in Lord of The Rings. Modern writers "think" that a once over read or a youtube essay is enough, to know an original writer. They arrogantly believe that because they are born in the modern era, they automatically mean more are more worthy and are just so special. They arent. Since an original idea now, is rare...all a modern writer sees is trope. Its almost as if its a huge portion of their vocabulary and they just cant see past it.

This just show you how controlled these corpos and western entertainment has become. Think about the power that takes to have the entire industry and corporations spreading the same agenda.

Didn't they say Space Marine 2 wouldn't have an in-game cash shop, but would still have purchasable cosmetics? Warhammer 40k is extremely diverse universe, you have everything there. Why would they need to change the lore , but not their scenario to add the diverse groups lorewise.

I don't see why they didn't just write their own story and make an original if they wanted to change it. Its sad because Cavill would have fit in perfectly in Hollywood 20 or so years ago and would have had an amazing career. Unfortunately modern Hollywood isnt about talent or passion but about promoting the message and ticking boxes. Where’s the evidence of any of this? I see all this clickbait stuff out there with people saying they’ve changed this and that and forced Cavill into this or that but until I see it or hear it from Cavill I’m not believing any of it. It’s not outside the realm of possibility, but just because they’re currently ducking Star Wars with something large and sandpapery and ducked Witcher doesn’t mean they’ll do it here. They’ve seen what the happened to Witcher, surely they can learn from that… or at the very least if Cavill got pushback, he just needs to give an example with Witcher to shut it down.
