Our first farm/road bike was a C15. It was an ex-Police bike that had been round the clock. Turned the handle bars upside-down for that Cafe look and fitted a Kwaka seat with BSA painted on the back. Cost after dragging it out the orchard? A Fiver.

Love a BSA Bantam. At 17 in the eighties before the internet I bought a rolling 'wreck' of a Bantam D3 swing arm. All the wiring had been 'bodged' fixed over the years and was almost all black. Dear old Dad 'poured' over the Bantam 'Haynes' manual and managed to create a new loom that worked!... Try doing that with a modern bike!. 🤣

I sold my 1959 registered C15 in 1984 for £65 as a non-runner, it turned out that the Amal mono block carb was so worn out that it was oval instead of round. The new owner changed the carb for a round one and had a cheap little running classic motorcycle.

Hello Henry I thought I'd let you know I'm also bloody fed up with "patina", in my day it was called a rusty piece of shit, you see rusty bad, not rusty good and it's a bloody cheapskates way of not having to do what you should do which is a respray!!!!!!
