We went to Key West in 2010 and basically just hung around at Captain Tony’s for the week. We had been in 1993 and there was a local small town feel. Too much of the stench of money in 2010, Lord knows what it’s like now. We went to the Hemingway House in ‘93, taped our tour, had the coolest tour guide ever, went out on a sailboat, that year was magic.

Thank you for this! I have never before seen photos of Pauline's parents' home in Pigott, Arkansas. One can only imagine how sleepy and quiet Key West was in the 1930's, when he did most of his work there.

I’m glad we’re still allowed to visit the house if you enjoy his work a simple walkthrough seems to toss you into the past and you can imagine him on his porch with a cat or yelling from his studio RIP Mr Hemingway and Happy Independence Day to all here in the USA 🇺🇸

Glad you all enjoyed it. I used iPhoto to edit the photos in this video because I wanted to stay with standard Mac programs.

In our feminist first society, a person like Hemingway is a villain. While he had faults he is a celebration of his era and a testament to masculinity.

Well that was a really nice video, as a life-long Hemingway reader (and I'm old :) ), I enjoyed it. I wonder what Hemingway would think of the evolution of Key West into a gay enclave? I mean no disrespect, on the contrary I have great respect for people who live their true lives, it's a serious question. I wonder what he would think....

I’m sure he saw enough of that in Paris in the 20’s except back then they didn’t brag about it or run around in parades half naked! 🤣

I am a great admirer of Hemingway's writing, but cannot accept his addiction to big game hunting, in his killing harmless animals for sport.
