Sure! Go to HEMA Alliance website and find local club. We have a mapfinder for North America and Europe. Contact the nearest club and see what they have for you. Or, buy my Polish Saber book. Easy to find on Amazon.com and can get you started on that system.

I had a teacher who was a historical fencer, he used a style passed through generations in his family; he was a direct descendant of don Juan Quijada de Reayo, one of the most prominent fencers in the old Spanish fencing style. Sadly he died without passing the style because nobody was willing to be his student :/

In a bout such as this the point is "not" to get hit so a lot of caution is taken to be deliberate with ones tactics and deliveries. Its not as exciting as the movies but real life seldom is.

In real combat you're not using your hand to grab the rapier eithet so you might as well allow light contacts in my opinion. It would allow more fluent movement.

Is Richard Marsden using the spanish fencing verdadera destreza? The left guy is using the french style, but Marsden is using a mix between spanish and french style I think. Regards from Seville, Spain.

Very late comment but, these rapiers seem quite flexible, the metal bending quite easily. Is this just done for safety reasons in dueling? I was under the impression actual rapiers were quite firm but I could be wrong

A large sword would lop off a limb or just kill you fast... while thin swords made for puncturing... They will enter and just destroy all your organs, and all you can do is sit there and bleed out slowly. it's not fast like losing an arm or a head, it's very, very, very slow and i could imagine very painful.

I noticed that red socks was quite impatient for the field and was almost always the one making the attack, and usually getting hit as a result. combined with white shin guards generally not pressing the attack and just moving backwards for an opening to strike. Would be curious to see how white initiates an attack, if ever. in any case, fun duel guys!

Though in all seriousness, do you know or recommend any specific seller that ships in Canada?
