@BrennaQuandt its the best thing ever! We finns buy ”big” blocks of cheese and slice the amount we want for example for our sandwiches🥰 its so absurd they dont use these outside of the nordics😂 (btw they are good for slicing cucumbers😂)

Oh, I really love Porvoo! 🥰 Especially it is at its best as a summer town, but also at Christmas time it has own kind of fairy-tale magic, which is hard to put into words better than that. ☺

Bear meat is actually quite rare in Finland. Reindeer, other deer animals and moose are more common. Only around 300-500 bear are hunted down per year, while for example the number of moose is around 3000. And reindeer of course is are raised for meat, so that's a whole other story.

@BrennaQuandt Greetings from Sydney, Australia. It is pronounced whovaa. The letter Y has a long oo sound. My Finnish maiden name started with Hy and of cause here in Australia, growing up, it had its English version which we stuck with. 😃 Lucky you having so much snow before Christmas. My daughter and I visited in December 2019 for my first ever winter visit and we had no snow down south. Only once we reached the artic circle. It was still a lovely visit. 🥰

Yeah. Hyvää is the general word for good, when you talk about anything that is not countable or when you wish something good. Like "good milk" "hyvää maitoa" or "merry christmas" "hyvää joulua".

It is so weird to see how eating bear and reindeer is somehow sad for some people but eating pork and chicken that are mass produced isn't. We hunt a specific number of bears every year so the population number stays good and all of the meat goes to good use.

this is the first time i've ever heard anyone have moral dilemmas about eating bear. every culture eat bear but no culture likes it. it is very uncommon in finland to eat bear. most tourists have some with eating rudolf though. which is the vest meat in existense
