Prom is perfect. And let the "british" attend an enemy school called redcoats academy or something. Have all the competitive teams (all sports, debate, etc.) Compete with each other. Hamilton would so be in debate. Washington would be student body president or something. Thomas and lafayette would be students who exchanged with eachother for a few semesters, and Hercules got drunk at a party once and banged a horse. Let us continue building this world

I honestly find it hilarious (in a good way!) that they entirely flipped Eliza's character on its head for this musical. Musical!Eliza: I never put myself in the spotlight! Oh, I can't go over and talk to him, I'm too shy! Angelica, please talk to him for me! I'm mildly concerned that Alexander told me Angelica hit on him! Historical!Eliza: WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME, ASSHOLE!? COME OVER HERE AND SAY THAT TO MY FACE! (I'm sure she had more restraint than that, I'm just simplifying things a little)

I don’t really think Eliza is the type of girl to play an electric guitar and to wear a leather jacket. I feel a connection to Eliza and if that was what she did I don’t think I would like Hamilton. I’m not writing this in a angry tone I just think you should consider what it would be like if she did have a guitar and a leather jacket especially since the electric guitar wasn’t made until around 1940 and Hamilton is based way before that...

This is extremely different from First Burn and it's really interesting in a good way. At the very beginning, I disliked it, but as I keep watching, it's growing on me. It's really upbeat and has an almost old feel. It's like something you'd play in a car to jam out to with some friends while driving with the top down by the coast or something. It makes me just want to get up and dance. I see a lot of people saying "I don't like it", "First Burn was better" or "This is bad" and while I agree everyone is entitled their own opinion, I think these guys deserve a little more credit. They took this song in a direction I never would've dreamed of but it works fabulously, or at least, I think so. They've taken the song and completely turned it into something their own and that's extremely commendable.

It's true that this one isn't as powerful as First Burn in the sense of the meaning behind it, but do all the Hamildrops have to be extremely powerful and emotional? Do we have to go on a feels ride every time we listen to them? Personally, I'm fine with just having some music to jam out to, and this song delivers.

Aqua Marine I didn't like it at the start either but I agree, it does grow on you as you keep listening. I wasn't expecting it to be so different so I was put off but I decided to keep listening and realized it's pretty good, the different isnt bad. I think people say it's bad because the style is so different from the original or they just don't like this style of music.

Well, didnt know The Regrettes but dont regret listening the new version. Actually, it sounds like the jam you dance while you are cleaning your house during summer

What do you mean by Hamilton "Style"? because the "Style" is different here. The only thing that hasn't really been changed is the composition if I'm not mistaken. I think the problem you have with it is that it's more of a cover in a different style instead of being a different song?

Modernized AU I thought about this one Eliza is a nerdy or shy student at school in the morning. Just literally quiet, she is. But during the night she and her sisters hold a punk rock concert to some club every night, Schuyler Sisters lol. Then one night, Alex with his gang came to the club. Actually Alex is a super nerd geek at school so Eliza didn't really mind him that much. Burr is a metal head and helps Alex because he insisted to be a cool guy like him. The two friends along with Mulligan and Lafayette jammed to the rock songs. When it's the Schuyler Sisters song number, everyone went wild including Alex. Then Eliza fell to Alex in love with him lol. In the corner of the room Angelica is sulking because she had an eye on Alex first. Waiting for Satisfied Mixtape.

This played in my work and I was trying so hard to figure out where I knew it from until “my heart went BOOM” and I was like whAAT

I can just imagine Eliza, Peggy, Angelica, and Mariah in a band. Eliza as the main singer, Peg as the drummer, Angelica as the base, and Mariah.. idk. Eliza met Alexander after a concert. They exchanged numbers and went on their way. They kept texting each other for a while and they want to meet again, but first she needs her dads approval. After begging her dad, he finally obliges and lets her go. They meet quite often after that and they become a couple. When she introduces him to her bandmates, Mariah seduces him and cheats on Eliza. Eliza finds out about it when Alex texted her about it, so she kicks Mariah out and brakes up with Alex for awhile. Idk after that, someone make the rest up.

Then, maybe a close friend to both Alex and Eliza from a couple years below them (Phillip) get's hit by a car on the way to meet Alex at a concert. guys, it’s not supposed to be in the style of hamilton, that’s the whole point lmao stop hating, it’s *a m a z i n g* edit: i have just responded to many comments who all share 1 of 2 arguments: “it’s not like the original.” “it’s not as good as first burn.” *first of all,* saying you hate it makes it seem like that the regrettes were doing something wrong by creating their own version and releasing it. that’s what youtube is for, creating things and sharing them. it’s not supposed to be like the original, it’s supposed to be 90s rock, not 1700s classical music. news flash: music has evolved. it’s supposed to be the regrettes singing it. not eliza, not phillipa, this band. it’s not fair to compare the two styles, they came from two different time periods for crying out loud. *second of all,* first burn is good, i’ll admit that, but that doesn’t mean you have the right to come onto this video and say that making this band feel bad. if you go onto the actual first burn video and comment that, good for you, you’re in the clear. and besides, hamildrops are meant to be in all different styles, otherwise it would get boring. so what if first burn happened to be closer to the hamilton style, does that mean everything else that differs from that is terrible and doesn’t deserve a place on the internet? i think not. different is not bad. it’s 2018. humans should have figured this out by now.

First Burn and Found/Tonight are variants of the subject at hand. First Burn explores more of Eliza’s anger and her thinking of the future instead of her sadness. And Found/Tonight takes two seemingly different musicals and songs and mashes them together to create a heartfelt and universal take on the lyrics. Nothing is entirely in the style of Hamilton, and this rendition of Helpless is well done, but nothing new.

Amateur_Author i saw a couple of people saying they didn’t like it at all because it wasn’t the original, and they would ignore it. i guess it just makes me feel bad for lin, because he’s proud of these things

This style is personally not hugely for me, but I’m so glad that other people love it and I love seeing new ways to engage in Hamilton so it doesn’t stay as one thing forever

This is actually my favorite version of Helpess. Im in love with 90s hip remakes of classical or religion songs. It gives them a little bit if *pop*

This seems like such a summer song to me. Like Everybody Talks but more rock, they have the same energy. Such a different style and I love it!

@ all the people who don't think this is "hamilton" enough the whole point of the musical is to show diversity. by releasing different versions and sounds of the songs, it shows a great deal of diversity through music ! i personally really enjoy this version

hannah ! I respect your opinion, but will you allow me to oppose it with my own? Hamilton was very diverse not only with cast members, but with the different music genres. Rap, British rock, etc. But the most outstanding part of the show was that they singers didn’t even need to speak to convey their emotions. It was in their voice. And here, there’s no emotion. I saw the same problem with the Hamilton Mixtape. The singers nor the composers aren’t bad (I liked An Open Letter, Take a Break remix, and Wrote my Way out), and the songs I just mentioned had some emotion, except for the remix. In An Open Letter, the rapper is arrogant, like Hamilton when he wrote his rebuttal to John Adams. And in Wrote my Way our, the rappers convey this feeling of proudness as they talk about how they each wrote their way out. And many people can relate to that song. The “Hamilton Style” is just emotion. There’s nothing here except a good singer and a good instrumental, but there is no substance. So no, it isn’t “Hamilton” enough. But, you’re free to have your opinion.

Kathy Simon Oh, wow. Never in my experiences in this fandom have I had to deal with someone like you. But, you’ve clearly misinterpreted my comment, which is my fault, I could’ve worded it better. So, let me correct you. Let me inform you on something, I did not intend on bashing their opinion, in fact, their opinion made me look at how the song is hated over many other hamildrops. I simply shared my opinion in opposition with their opinion. Like I said, their opinion helped me analyze the reaction over the song. I didn’t bash her thoughts, it wasn’t my original intent to anyway. Bashing someone’s opinion isn’t right, and that’s why at the end of my comment, I told THEM to argue, in which I meant debate, and that I wouldn’t censor them. I’m not going to censor you either, since you’re free to have your opinion about me, as I am to have my opinion about you. The way you responded to my comment was hostile, and I would be happy to debate to you on why the song doesn’t work if you didn’t respond that way. I would be happy to hear the former commenter’s opinion over the matter and we can discuss over it respectfully. But, as far as I’m concerned about bashing her opinion, I think I did a terrible job. You can decipher whether my intent was malicious or not, I don’t have a problem with it at all😊

Kathy Simon Was I aggressive? I didn’t intend to come off like that, I’m not that type of person. But, I didn’t insult you, and if you were insulted, I promise it wasn’t intentional. Something as ridiculous as calling people names and invalidating others is trivial in these discussions. If we’re talking aggressiveness, maybe you should examine the way you’ve responded to my previous comment.

I don't think anyone was being aggressive. I'm very open to friendly debates, and I respect how others are willing to share their opinions with me. I like seeing the different sides of the fandom so I can keep up with how the fans are feeling about things. It's all part of collaborating. After all, we're all here because of one thing- Hamilton.

idk how to feel about this but this is something I could get away with playing by my friends who like this genre :))

It grew on me as I kept listening but honestly it's such a jarring jump from rap/hip-hop to this I'm not surprised some people are on the fence about it
