Very nice this girl, full of sympathy and love for her communauty. I will share with my students !! thank you from France where elders are lost with digital demands from administrations !
I am 76 years old & live in England in an area with very poor 4G signal. There are no classes to learn about technology. I am not against learning, there is just no means to do it! I have no young relatives. I muddle along the best I can but cannot do much as I do not understand it & there's no one to explain. I cannot afford a computer or broadband but I have a tiny phone.
Banks, utility companies and Telcos could stand to learn from her.
type of work I do also offers a similar teaching experience for seniors or anyone who needs to learn how to use a device. I'm really happy to see this getting attention on such a large scale even if it was quite a few years ago. Teaching seniors is like teaching anyone, finding a way to relate the material will always be a viable option well done!

Starting my journey now. Looking forward to more seniors online. They are ready...
Thank you! ❤ great talk.
The reality is that technology has changed how people do things. Overall, I strongly disagree that the technology being referred to in this TED talk has improved people's lives, but that is mostly because of how the technology is used. imo far more people use it in ways that makes humans less human than otherwise. However, the reality is that so much which "technology" has replaced isn't coming back just by wishful nostalgia. The world has moved on and complete rejection of the technology is rarely the best way to adapt. Learning how to function with the technology is more or less essential. Slowly, but hopefully surely, some are learning about the deep detriments of dependence on tech. The best thing a person can do for themselves in the meantime is to seek balance.
Isabella did a great job sharing with us about her experiences helping to bridge the technology divide
How do I start a buziness of my own?
Thank you for the wonderful and insightful TED talk!
She's amazing!!!
I feel for anyone who has to teach seniors how to use technology. I'd have more luck teaching my cat how to use tech.

True statement. Seniors are are high maintenance and too whiny.
If there is a will definitely there is a way

That's the problem. Old people don't want to learn simple technology
And I have to keep them from getting hacked
Excellent!
Bravo💛
I´ts not about senior citizens; not about age. The need for being continually updating our knowledges won´t stop. Citizens become individuals without a whole entity: each database, bureaucracy, client profile... splits individuals into anonymous entities managed by specifical algorythms. Max Weber´s "Iron cage" spares no age. No rocket science needed to perceive it; just individual observation and a little effort to draw consequences. Technology vs not-technology. One leg grows nonstop. The others drag along, like bonsai trees; stall; become stunted, or just wither. Desert nomads know that each person has a leg longer than the other; so if you walk in a straight line, at the end you come to the starting point after walking a huge circle of footprints in the sand. The whole world moves faster and faster, always dreaming of a better future that lies ahead. The carrot makes the donkey walk the track around the same mill. Never sees the wheel´s axle: rehashing a new episode of the past.
The title is totally misleading. WORST vedeo. Don't waste your time.
I am more confused now. Oy oy.
What ? Is she talk to little clueless kids or
Tedx must be really desperate to have this gal.
