Great information here Pat. I just subscribed. I'm in SC, in the Charlotte area. I wish I could image in the summer, but here in the south I find it nearly impossible. The clouds, humidity, late afternoon t-storms, they never end. I may get one good night from late May to September, and the summer sky has so many great targets!

Hi Grey, Thank you for subscribing. I hear you about the summertime issues. That is one of the main reasons I converted my rigs to operate via remote connections. The summer heat and humidity in Savannah is a killer too. And let's not forget about those bugs! I've been trying to get a good capture of several of the summer targets but with the humidity so high, it makes it challenging, to say the least. I sometimes luck out with the sea-breeze front passing through my area with several hours of clear evening skies. Here's hoping for clear skies during these cooler months.

Great information sir, you are in a small group, i.e. Cuiv, Dark Ranger, most guys just tell you how smart they are, show you their free gear, a final image, then encourage you to buy their swag. Excellent work.

Excellent video Pat! I learnt a couple of things mate😀 Robocopy and add ha to rgb in Nina! I’ll be using those for sure! I already have GraXpert👍 Also, what a good idea with the filter wheel on the OSC so you can use your L enhance, L pro & L ultimate! I have the L pro & L extreme, both great filters but I only have the standard single filter drawer! Super images mate, and loved the combo of all three filters on the horse head! Great Cigar, really picked up that ha! Super work Pat, looking forward to the next one! I’m fully automated now with Nina controlling my roof, video out recently! Clear skies Pat🤣

Thank you, Simon. Yes, these new tools are really making editing more easy with much better results. My sky is finally clearing out and I am getting the big C 11 ready. Also, this Poseidon-M is a fantastic camera and I just received new Antlia LRGB filters to go along with their Ha, S2, and O3 4.5nm filters. I have your latest video in my "watch later" list which I plan to watch later this after after church. You gotta love NINA. Clear skies, Simon

Thanks, Glenn. There are so many new techniques now available to give us better (or much better) images from the same data. GraXpert, BlurXTerminator, StarXTerminator, and NoiseXTerminator, now Pixinsight's Toolbox. It's amazing to me. What's next?

What are your personal feelings about building your own personal roll off roof or other type of observatory? I suppose the Heavenly Backyard isn't designed for one? Great comparison and I agree, the L-enhance looked best. Clear skies Pat!

Thank you, C.A.S. I don't want an observatory at my location for a couple of reasons ... the humidity is too high along with the temperature and it would get way too hot and musty inside while closed and you assumed correctly, it just won't fit in the decor of the garden. I am more than happy with using the dedicated telescope covers. I am thinking of building a permanent pier for the Orion EON rig though. Yes, that L-eNhance is my favorite for nebulosity while the pro and quad are good for star clusters and galaxies.

Yeah, a permanent pier is a great idea. I'm working on one myself right now. I am in central Texas, and I know all about the heat. The Alaska Astro guy uses telegizmo covers in -25F temps and they get covered in snow too. I think I'll try those until I complete an observatory. I already have some and they keep my rigs well protected in the garage. Have a cup of coffee on me and clear skies my friend. -jason

Thanks for the cup of Java, Jason. I'm still in the research portion of the pier. I need to make sure I can get my EQ6-R Pro mount on it. Once I get there, then I will start construction, but probably not until August after the garden workload eases up a bit.

You're welcome sir. Are you planning a concrete pier? I looked at prefabricated piers and they are so expensive, but they are very nice.

When it comes to filters, you get what you pay for.

You are certainly correct, Woody.A lot of people don't think about the price of filters. A set of good LRGB HaS2O3 filters cost as much as some telescopes!
