depending on how long you had them in, it’s most likely normal shedding. i wouldn’t worry too much.

I'm concerned about my edges. I have 2 patches in the front of my hair line.

Deep conditioning

I'm thinking your hair came out depending on how long you had your hair in and the way you took it out. I always tell people to detangle their hair as they go. Don't take braids out all at once and then start putting a comb through it. It just going to make matters worse. And that's also counting your hair shrinkage for just having the braids in for so long period cuz your hair falls everyday and when you in a protective style you don't see it. Now you acting about products. It depends on your hair tight. I will highly advise you to go ahead and wash your hair with a neutralizer to remove the build up and restore her pH. And then back it up with a conditioner that matches your hair type. If he has super coarse hair, I'll go up on the protein level. Meaning the creamier and thicker your conditioner the better. I personally use XOXO conditioner from bath body works. It works really well and it's designed for coil coarse hair. I've been using it for years and hopefully they don't stop selling it lol. It's a bit pricey but it is wonderful. And also don't be afraid to leave conditioners in your hair up to 45 minutes or even an hour. I normally wash out shampoos right away, and keep conditioners in my hair alone. Time with the plastic cap on. So when I wash out the conditioner my hair is manageable, is soft, and it'll last me a whole 2 weeks. And after you wash out that conditioner put in your favorite leave-in conditioner styling dressing. Do not use heat products on your hair. Just comb out your hair wrap it and put a stocking cap on it. And let it air dry. Hell sit outside. Just let the sun work it.

Thanks for taking the time to comment and for giving me amazing advice. I did everything you said not to do. My hair is very thick and I had my braids in a ponytail most of the time. I'm going to get the products that you suggested and leave the conditioner in longer. Have a phenomenal day.🦋
