I worked 40 years as a helicopter field mechanic. Very low wages. Raised 2 kids. Now on Social Security reaped from trickle down. 90% pays for housing. 401k put kids through college and gone. I am one of those seniors Bernie is talking about. I am seriously considering leaving USA to stay out of poverty. GOP MAGA party would literally rather have some kind of Warsaw like ghettos for us.

There are already a staggering amount of seniors living in the streets, so much for those golden years. Property taxes continue to increase yearly, especially in New England. How are people on a fixed income suppose to keep up with that?

For the most part, many of us have to sell our houses and property when we retire. We have to downsize. Option? Work into your 70's?

All of the smaller Gramdma and Granpa farms are absorbed by the affluent when they go into the hospital or nursing homes. Houses, barns, sheds, trees, shrubs, and flowers are bulldozed and a gargantuan masion is built. A privacy fence is installed as the land is taken from the middle and lower class. Enormous farms can pass on all of their wealth while tiny farms disappear. All the while a misguided portion of our population praise the son of a failed slumlord. All public service retirement and healthcare should be placed on medicare and social security. All borrowed and unpaid amounts from the general fund should be drawn from Senate and House pay. All late fees nationwide generated from government shutdowns should be drawn from senate and House pay.

Everyone working needs to regularly request a raise. Grocery prices rose 28% since 2020. Has youf paycheck? If you're not a union member, learn to negotiate on your own behalf. People only respect you if you respect yourself.

My son is stuck where we refused to shop for years, promising to never actually spend there. Things got worse. Many of the big store's shutdown’s were based on greed. I compromised. There sre some union owned (bad choice of words?) stores in Tacoma and Seattle, but the cost of the ferry will eat you alive!!! So it’s a shared cost, and it’s even better when it includes medical (that didn’t come out right…) or anything that can qualify for a free pass. Keeps the workers working. Keeps me out, so I don’t just jump off the dwck. And I can shoo the various co-ops and family - granted, chain - owned stores. They are quasi private. They are small. They are a little nicer and a whole lot more desperate. Your theory was put to rest years ago. What is it you said you do? Oh, my son? They are back to treating people like 💩 and hope that they’ll get frustrated and leave. New workers, lowest wages. Longer time, efficient, know what they’re doing? The money doesn’t roll over. Don’t speak out of turn. It can blow up in your face. 😉

Those young workers that Cassidy is talking about will have to take care of their parents 😡 Get these people OUT they are not for you.

He’s been flooded with messages, senate office and Vermont senate office!! “You sound tired…?” “Mmmm…hmmm”. “What can I do for you?” She took it and asked if I needed a response. “No thank you, but I have to let you know that everyone appreciates your taking calls from out of state”. I feel lame because I tried back and obviously got no answer 😄! I left a message asking for borh or whichever flyers - 2016/2020 - they could send me a couple of. You should see me scratching my head and looking hopeless at the copy-shop. It costs a bloody fortune to have them do it, but so do full reams of the better copy paper!!!

Overtime was a penalty. Thus upon overtime Social Security and Retirement on the company should be time and a half as well. Detriment on the worker should be reimbursed. BYW Mr Stevenson has a very nice suit. Sorry, just saying.

I've been homeless for 10 years as a result of having Sensory Processing Disorder and Mutism. No one would house me when I had income and I lost my income as a result. I have no chance of getting my mail because I can't get a VT ID when they do online only and no exceptions. There are no Accomidations for ADA being used and honored by any of the Human Services. What is best for the "Common Wealth"? At this point I think them Learning Generousity would be a start.

social banking, social healthcare, social education for all. to say privatizing saves money is the most stupid thing that persists. explain to me how the billions in profits do not increase prices for services and goods. it is the government's very purpose to safeguard its citizens. it is very clear that when the few have too much money, most will have to go without. money is a finite resource. inflation is caused by overabundance of money. it is not the majority who have that money, it is the very few on top. this is why it was not a little covid money that went out to people that caused our inflation but the over decade of economic easing and decades of tax breaks for the richest in our society. this is why the problem started when we lowered the top taxes decade after decade. am i going crazy? no one seems to talk about this!

before this succeeds, we have to make the loophole rich people have to get away from having any income! we have to pay property tax for our real-estate but the rich do not have to pay for owning billions in stocks. that is a property and it is very real. as long as rich people can "borrow" money to live on while holding billions in stocks and company ownership, your plan will not actually work. and by the way there should be no cap on the tax either. moving the cap from $100k to $200k just makes a bad idea a little less bad. the billionaires still are getting away with not paying their fair share.
