My husband and I really enjoyed seeing Joseph live, feeling his joyful presence, his rare combination of humor and wisdom for dealing with life's greatest challenges. This session is perfect for anyone living through this pandemic, whether alone or with others in the home; whether a seasoned or first-time meditator. Joseph truly teaches how to do it--how to bring the wandering attention gently back and begin again. Thank you, Dan Harris and Joseph Goldstein, for giving this video to the world, and for all the guided meditations and talks on the 10% Happier App that help us work toward staying as centered as humanly possible during this tumultuous time.

Read the book years ago. Tried meditating. Gave it a good go; didn't take / stick. Revisiting it now and already finding myself so appreciative to have the two of you to learn from and to try again. Also realizing how much I really missed Mr. Goldstein's voice. =) Thanks, you two.

The most lovely thing about this video was the presence of Alexander! I only knew him from his silence on the podcast and it always warms my heart to know that he is there! Serously, there is a deep lesson in the silence and patience of a little boy too. Many greetings and kisses to Alexander from Cologne

I am from MA but have since moved on. Everytime I hear Barre, I am brought back to sitting on the porch of the old hotel which has since burned. It's a warm feeling in my body. I was with my father and he died in '96. Meditation was in no way on my radar at that point. That feeling is now extended out to this great teacher and Sharon Salzberg too and myself.

It works for me. My counselor recommended this to me years ago. It is my # 2 strategy to feeling better. Exercise is # 1. They say "10% Happier". I think it's more like 25-30% Happier!

I have multiple anxiety disorders and wonder if Joseph believes when people like me are struggling, that means there's something I'm not accepting..if my generalized anxiety comes on constantly during day, not sure how to accept it all the time? Thanks, Mike

Thank you for seeking to provide us with tools. However, I found that when you suggested that we use these techniques as preparation 4 dying all I wanted to do was tune out at that point. I didn't find that helpful at all. I don't want to prepare to die. I want to devise the techniques to cope with my current anxiety. Talking about preparing 4 dying only causes more anxiety! I'm surprised is that you wouldn't have that awareness.

What you are purposing sounds great but is impossible. Calm: not showing or feeling nervousness, anger, or other strong emotions. If I am Calm I am not Anxious. If i am Anxious i am not Calm although i might be able to put on the illusion of calm.

I know you are using the term "insane" casually, but the consequences are not so casual for those actually suffering mental illness that involves delusions such as those suffering so badly from poisoning such as from mercury or microwave wireless radiation--both which are incredibly cruel to the neurology physiologically.... For one example: the universe is always listening. When it hears the word "insane" to describe evil people, it carries the anger directed at truly evil people at those innocent people merely victims of illness, the mentally ill such as those with depression, anxiety (not to be confused with normal anxiety, we mean clinically disabling anxiety) and other issues that are physiologically based, not the fault of the victim suffering. Please be mindful of your choice of words and choose with compassion for the most vulnerable; mentally ill adults are indeed more vulnerable because not only are the often disabled and needing help, they do not get support and care as readily as a child due to ignorance that breeds contempt and misplaced judgment.
