My favorite part of this entire movie is how quickly Mary Lou's dress lights up after being just tapped by the flame of the stink bomb fuse. She just erupts into an inferno in seconds. It makes no sense and it's amazing.

Depending on the fabric it's not super unrealistic just exaggerated. Quite a few synthetic fabrics are incredibly flammable and don't just burn but melt into the skin of the wearer.

That chalkboard effect has to be the most memorable part of the movie. I love how the chalk letters come off and also get sucked into the whirlpool.

I love how a lot of early horror films will have sequels that were definitely supposed to be their own thing but ultimately got tied to a franchise that isn’t really connected to it.

The actress playing the role of Kelly Hennenlotter, Terri Hawkes, was one of the more popular voice actresses who played Serena / Sailor Moon in the original 1990's first run DiC produced English dub of Sailor Moon!!! Also, the actress playing the role of Vicki Carpenter, Wendy Lyon, also was the voice actress who played Queen Serenity in a handful of episodes from that same English dub of Sailor Moon!!!

I was about to say that! Hawkes was the second voice of Serena/ Sailor Moon in the original dub after Tracey Moore (who voiced her in the first 11 episodes and episodes 15 and 21), taking over the role starting with episodes 12, then later for the rest of seasons 1 and 2, as well as the original dubs for the first three movies (those being R: The Movie (which was originally subtitled "The Promise of the Rose"), S: The Movie (Hearts in Ice), and SuperS: The Movie (Black Dream Hole)).

I do like when James covers B-movie horror films he loves. That always means it's gonna be entertaining.

The locker room scene is one of the best scenes in the movie. I love how Vicki's Nudity is not sexual, and because of this, when she is stalking Monica, it feels really intense and almost primal. It does really sell Mary Lou's Possession of Vicki, as Mary Lou is both oddly freer, and more confrontational with her sexuality, but also she is driven to kill by any means necessary, even if that means not putting on a towel before you off someone.

@@LuxuryPossum death of the author etc. etc. I think it's one of those instances where the intent behind a questionable piece of art from decades ago begins to divorce itself from the impact it has on modern audiences whose cultural context has shifted so significantly. Another example being "odd-ball comic relief" characters being seen as unintentionally coded as autistic for modern audiences. There's no single right answer as to whether the director's intent (which we don't know) of this scene matters. But we know how the scene impacted us, today, so that's definitely worthy of merit.

"A wop bop a loo bop a wop bam.." (Lockers crush) this is now my favorite scene . RIP Little Richard 😔

What I most love about this movie is that while Mary Lou was wronged in life, she's mostly just back and killing for malicious fun. And shes shown to have already been a shitty person while alive lol. Most female horror villains have to have really brutal depressing backstories and don't get to have fun with their kills like Freddy, Jason, Chucky, etc. Mary Lou is serving great camp the whole time.

Gotta say James, you have totally perfected your cadence for the Kill Counts. Not too fast but still very engaging and funny. It really sets the perfect tone. Great job! 👏🏻

My favorite Era of horror movies are 80s, 90s and early 2000s their in My opinion sooooooo much better than horror movies nowadays

OH MY GOD, I thought Jess’ kill was a fever dream, I had no idea it was from this movie! I must’ve seen it on tv when I was WAY too young and it scarred me for so long! Thank you, Dead Meat, for reminding me that this scene was real and I didn’t make it up!

Okay but the practical effects in the chalkboard scene is fantastic.

A Lep Recount would be pretty dope, especially given how much James has turned around on that series over the years as well as just how barebones those KCs feel due to how old they are. I feel like there's a lot more to say about that series.

I love these kind of cheesy horror movies. They are always laughable and make no sense. I love James’s funny commentary and I couldn’t stop laughing at the amount of random scenes.
