I don’t know the situation in which you lost your friend. But I lost my closest and dearest friend (who took a huge part of me with him when he left) and I feel like this song was written about him. I listen to it A LOT and every single time I cry and cry……..and it feels amazing. It’s been 18 years since that tragic day and it finally feels like I’m getting a little bit of what’s bottled up inside me out. I thank you for that ward. You have a talent that can’t be put into words. That talent combined with your tragic loss and your ability to speak from the heart has created an amazing song that will be touching lives for many years to come. God bless you

This is an awesome song-I played sing-a-long piano with 2 banjos at the Showboat in WI Dells at 17 years old- (I made $25 a night and thought that was awesome!) glad to see that live music continues-I'm in CO and AZ now but would come to see you, Ward Davis, in a heartbeat! Lost a good friend this week. Life is so overwhelming and so very fragile. Some may not understand why people make the choices they do, but so thankful for the time God gifted us with his life. Continued prayers over those that have lost a friend or loved one too soon, too young, too often.

Yes I'm very sorry for the lose of your friend I lost my big brother an best friend I'll ever have in a tragic suicide on Sept 28th of this year an it's so damn hard tomorrow will mark 3 months of the pain an hurt .. luckily my nephew's an there mother are doing ok an his boys are all old enough to understand but it's hard with me an my two boys an little girl asking why they can't see him anymore or why he's gone or why daddy is so sad .. R.i.p Mark Allen Joseph Hilgendorf we all love an miss you man love always your little brother
