Alice Faye had such a wonderful voice. Love this song!
"You'll Never Know" was my late mother's favorite song, and I'm dedicating it to you now, my darling Mother.💕🥀🥀🥀🥀
This is a great classic even in march 2022!
How is it possible both main performers (dear alice and stunning john) can look so dashing and have such sweet voices, at the same time? God, how i do wish I could be able see them in person
THIS MAKES ME SOOOOOOO HAPPY!!!! ALICE FAY!!! THE VOICE HEARD BY THE TROOPS AND POSSIBLY THE LAST SONG THEY HEARD. 1943 THANK YOU ALICE FAY AND ALL THOSE THAT BROUGHT US THE LOVE DURING WW2 -- WHAT A GIFT TO US!!!!
And John Payne. Beautiful man.
You'll Never Know, best song of 1943. It was and still is.
The legend behind the song "You'll Never Know" goes like this. Harry Warren and Mack Gordon were trying to come up with a song for this movie but were stuck up with writers block. So out of frustration they decided to get away from Hollywood to clear their mind and they took the train down to the race track in Del Mar (by San Diego). As they got near the track they could hear the trumpeter calling attention for the next race (think of that tune). Bingo!, They got their inspiration and went on to write this song.

Never heard that story, but I like it! Thanks for sharing it. :)
You'll never know just how much I miss you You'll never know just how much I care And if I tried, I still couldn't hide my love for you You ought to know, for haven't I told you so A million or more times? You went away and my heart went with you I speak your name in my every prayer If there is some other way to prove that I love you I swear I don't know how You'll never know if you don't know now (You went away and my heart went with you I speak your name in my every prayer) If there is some other way to prove that I love you I swear I don't know how You'll never know if you don't know now You'll never know if you don't know now
Miss Faye's had an unfair advantage to "light up the screen", she was angel. Not just her looks...but also her beautiful mellow contralto voice. It would be wonderful indeed to have another Alice today.

Mama Cass. Cass Elliot brought me here. She did a version of one of Alice songs.

@@shelly2599 Her voice was quite similar, but unfortunately Cass is dead as well as Alice. Alice was one of the most beautiful women ever to grace Hollywood. My favorite Mama Cass video is one of her as a guest on the Julie Andrews Show. They did a duet medly that is fantastic, it was amazing how well their voices blended.

Those Technicolor eyes are among the bluest I've ever seen. And that smile at the end. I'm warm all over.
