I discovered today that the mortar sentry can actually kill tanks. DO NOT bring it on bug missions, but on bot missions its amazing at keeping ranged units suppressed and you just have to worry about the melee units.

8:20 -Now that's a cool detail! Looked like the gunship fired chaff countermeasures to try and escape the missile. Really appreciate the attention to detail in this game.- Edit: not chaff, just smoke from the rockets it was firing that I didn't see before. Still, it LOOKED like countermeasures, so I still say it makes the clip look cooler

Both the experimental launch extraction clip, and poor x-craigo. "Missed it by that much!"

Interesting thing you can do if you have a stategem stuck to your shield: Take off the shield, then you can put it back on. Taking it off turns off the shield and drops the strategem to the ground, then you can pick it right back up.

Fun fact, strategems stuck to your shield can be outrun if you run in a straight line because the droppods have limited steering just like hellpods. (not tested with heavy armor tho)

I took the ballistic shield just for the shits and giggles..... proceeded to run it for 7 games in a row with the newly buffed Anti-Material rifle as my support weapon...... worked a treat against bots

Honestly I saw the notes and decided to risk it and went into a mission with the shield. Its sad about the limited guns you can use, but sweet liberty is it nice. Pair it with heavy explosive armor and you can even take a missile to the face.

Just did a shield sniper solo run against bots, shield is nice.

You throw the missiles by swapping to your gun just before your hands touch the missile. You can’t do it by spamming the pickup button.

not going to lie I didn't even look at the ballistic shield buff now I think I'm gonna try it out. Arrowhead please bring the double freedom back to helldivers so I can use it with the shield lol.

@@andrzejwysocki609 I also don't feel neither of the SMGs are good enough to make the shield worth it as is because you can't ADS and they have such low stability that fighting beyond short range just wastes all your ammo and they lack the stopping power to deal with things you don't want close like packs of berserkers. I feel that if you are going to force the SMGs to fight close in (which is find and realistic to a short barreled handgun caliber firearm) they should be the best weapon you can have at that range and they are only ok. I did some testing with it earlier and what I found was at medium to long range you are very safe but all but useless, the shield allows you to easily cross open ground under fire to get close but once you get there the SMG is worthless against anything but the troopers and commissars. For the playstyle to work you need a way to deal with striders and devastators that isn't throw all my grenades in the first 30 seconds of combat or dump and entire mag into a devastators face. You can use the senator to deal with them but that's a rough reload mid combat and striders take at least 3 shots to the pelvis. Sorry for the long post I just would really like the close in CQC with a shield playstyle to work but without weapon reworks it just doesn't yet.

I don't understand these Eagle 500 fails. All these fail videos show the missile coming from the back but as far as I know, the Eagle goes Perpendicular to the point you stood & throw the beacon.

That's because Eagle 500kg flies in the direction you throw, not perpendicular. Same path as Strafing Run.

​@Old_Man_Bernard yeah with the buff to armour rockets are less of a threat. The only issue is hulks and tanks. But with a team you'll be fine

@@icer1249 I run it with the AMR and the orbital strike. strike reliably kills tanks and amr reliably kills hulks, rocket devs, and also can work on tanks in pinch. also annihilator tanks can't hurt you so they're not a big threat

You get that armor if you preordered the game. Mechanically, it's identical to the robotic arm/leg armors: extra throwing range and limb health

I assume you're talking about what to bring against bugs? In general I'd recommend the Punisher or Breaker if you're using impact grenades, the Auto Cannon or the Grenade Launcher. If you aren't bringing any of those then the Dominator is the clear favourite. The Sickle is a really solid choice if you're on a cold planet. Also, Breaker Incendiary is pretty strong after getting a 33% pellet damage increase and fire getting a 50% buff...

your vids are pretty funny. but not all, some of those streamers are so cring 😣 they ruin it.
