Airburst rocket launcher working against light and medium armor but not heavy is a great tradeoff and makes sense. Seemingly good game balance with it already. Have one guy running the quasar and one guy running the airburst launcher and you're decently covered

@DocDewrill Fair, but you can one-shot a hulk, a tank, and a bot fabricator with a cluster strike since it has parts of it that is explosive dmg, it is just very small aoe meaning it is very unreliable compared to normal airstrike or 500 kg

It's literally an Airburst Rocket it is ment to be an Anti Air Weapon The rocket actually explodes when near an enemy (or when directly hiting one) resulting in a big cloud of death Which leads to one big drawback ... you cannot use the weapon when an enemy is near you because the rocket would trigger Immediatly

Thinking about it. The recoilless rifle operated as a team weapon and with a supply pack on the gunner could deal with that many gunships.

When the third faction comes in I imagine we might see some of that. It would be cool imo. Kind of like in halo2 when the 2 factions of the covenant were fighting each other and some missions you could just sneak around and let elites and brutes kill each other.

Does the air burst rocket work on air targets as well?

It's actually meant for this specific reason the Rocket has a Proximity fuse .there is a Demo Clip out there that displays it

The "airburst" doesn't really seem like it does a, well... Airburst. Looks more like a cluster bomb. Seeing as it doesn't explode in (mid)air (at a set distance), but simply hits something and then unleashes a group of frags

I have seen other footage where it does explode mid air (no contact with enemy). The other clip I saw was using it to take our Shriekers, which makes sense!

The thing has a proximity Fuse and is meant to deal with swarms of "Aircraft" like shriekers ...or dozens of Gunships there is a Demo Clip out there
